Upon the momentary lapse of the twelve warlocks, Diana did not waste time. She raced to her mate and released the enchanted chains with a flick of her wrist before she moved to Talia and did the same.

Kneeling between the two unconscious people with her back against the two, Diana raced against time. As the released magic undid the chains, she placed her palms on the two people’s chilling skin and whispered the spell.

“Faurereium.”

On cue, Dian felt the warmth of her magic that came from her soul – her strong desire to cure the two manifested by giving her magic an amber gleam as soon as it left her palm.

This series of actions happened in three minutes.

In the desolate and cold room, the warmth of her healing magic spread had awoken the frozen stupor of the twelve warlocks.

“Stop the traitor!”

“Who is she?”

“I don’t know! I haven’t seen her face since I came to the coven and that is a long time!”

“A newbie witchling?”

“That caliber of magic? She’s no witchling,” a grim voice

A pained gasp escaped from Diana’s parched and cracked lips. Looking down, her shaky gaze met a pair of fierce ones, reminding her of the stormy seas. In a whisper, she called out a name. “Dylan… You’re awake.” Dylan sat up. His eyes gave a quick scan of his body before he looked around. Then, his gaze, which grew colder by the second, finally settled on the woman standing beyond the translucent barrier. “Why are you here? I told you to stay there no matter what!” Reaching out, Dylan stood and was about to step beyond the barrier when he was sent backward – rendering him speechless. Realization dawned upon him as he looked at his mate who was looking at him with a tear-stricken face. “Take this thing off –watch out!” Dylan banged the barrier in an attempt to move toward his mate when he saw a pillar that was about squash the crying Diana. Pillars and walls of bricks were about to crush her body when they disintegrated before they could even touch her body.Though she was on the verge of passing out, Diana still knew what was happening around her. When she saw how she was saved from the eminent death, she looked around and saw a silhouette standing to her right side. The wave of dust and smoke made it vaguer for Diana to see who it was no matter how she squinted her eyes. In a raspy voice, she asked the unknown savior.“W-Why did you save me?”The silhouette turned and was about to leave her be when the unknown person answered Diana. “Because you saved that child from hell.”By that child, Diana reckoned that the unknown savior was somehow connected to Talia.A depreciating smile appeared on Diana’s face as she exhausted the last bit of her energy in talking and turning on her back. Staring at the setting moon, she whispered to herself, not minding if the other heard her or not.“Who knows? Maybe

It was as if death came itself. In front of the behemoth of a wolf, the smell of death – their death – was around the corner. It loomed over the elder witches and elder warlocks. Even with their life experience, the scythe of death hovered over their necks and they could feel its imposing power with their magic. Gustav was the first one to snap out of their trance. With a wave of his hand, a staff appeared within his grasp. “Surround it” Superior Ricoz frowned. Like what Gustav did, the others also waved their hands and retrieved their staffs and wands. It had been years since they last summoned them. “What sorcery are we doing this time? What spell can bind that?” asked Superior Ricoz. “Ask later!” Gustav looked at the other elders. “Let’s recreate the seal! On to your positions!” Gustav took the lead and positioned himself at the head of the formation which was directly in front of the growling wolf. On cue, the four elders took their designated position. If Diana was here, sh

Talia stood behind the man who was cradling a woman’s corpse. Her thick lashes blinked, making the insect fly away from her eyes. Even with magic, nothing could stop the swarm of flies around the area.It was of no wonder.Five bodies were left in the open for a week already while the other hundreds were reduced to a mere pile of dust that faithful night.“Your mate fought a noble battle. Let her rest, wolf king. It is the least that we can do for her,” said Talia. Her tone was eerily calm as her eyes, which would remind anyone of the deep green forest, lacked any ripple of emotion or empathy. The man, who did not move from that position for seven days already, answered Talia with a low growl. It was a low warning yet the clear warning was evident from his deranged blue eyes.If it only happened a day after her death, maybe Talia would relent. But when she glanced at the exposed skin of the woman who had saved her—purple bruises started to appear on her skin. After all, it had been se

Talia looked in the direction of the cave’s entrance. Closing her eyes, the world turned into another dimension. Suddenly, she was seeing things beyond any creature’s capability. With her eyes closed, she could see the dead brushed shoulders with the living—may it be animals, humans, or supernatural entities.Upon seeing that it was the same humungous wolf, Talia opened her eyes immediately and looked back at the unconscious woman a few feet from her.“He’s here again,” said Talia.Like the past three days, no one answered her but the calm and even breathings of Diana Ritchell—once dead but now back in the realm of the living.Talia’s thought drifted to the constant visitor of this cave. After losing his rationality and his capability to feel emotion, Dylan Cain shifted to his wolf form, leaving a very alive Diana Ritchell in the pool. Was it guilt?Diana did not know.In a raspy voice, Diana forced herself to speak. “T-Talia?”Talia was about to step forward when she was reminded of the incident earlier. A certain grumpy wolf would kill her if her scent lingered around Diana, she was sure of it. Instead, Talia stood a meter away from Diana. She hovered over her and spoke.“I have a lot of questions, but that can wait.” Talia looked back to the cave’s entrance. “Your mate will kill the uninvited guests just like he always did.” Talia pointed to the heads lumped together next to Diana.Diana gasped. She only noticed it now! It was a direct challenge. No matter her rank as his luna, he was still the alpha at the end of the day. And with his feral nature controlling Alpha Dylan Cain right now, the anger in his beastly gaze was something to be expected of. Through the mind link, Diana sent a message to Alpha Shinro and Rakiz Lemoir. ‘The moment you see your chance, grab it and run as far as possible. Meet with Talia and the six alphas immediately. She will give your explanation of what is happening so far.’ Shinro’s wolf hated the idea of running away from an enemy—it was a proud alpha wolf after all. But Shinro’s human side was the most rational in times like this. He, who had once ruled over hundreds of rogues, knew that running away did not meet cowardice. It was a strategy to prepare for the next attack. Rakiz was born a naturally gifted strategist. Even his wolf knew by instinct that facing a very angry enormous alpha would only result in an irreversible death. When they heard Diana’s instruction,

Long ago, when the Moon Goddess slept inside the cradle of oblivion, Comba was the only god of the world. Just like how the Moon Goddess blessed the werewolves with their wolf counterparts, Comba blessed the witches with the ability to command the nature at will across the seven seas. The gift given by Comba was the reason why witches stood at the peak of the chain with so much difference in power compared to the races beneath them. It was because of this peculiar and convenient blessing that the witches were both revered and feared by the other races. They revered them for their strength and they feared them for the little sense of empathy towards the lower races. They treated the werewolves as their slaves. For many centuries, werewolves were skinned as their clothes while the werewolves’ heads hanged by their homes and gates as ornaments. It was a time that werewolves almost became instinct. Female werewolves were exploited for sick entertainment while male werewolves were used as

Clad in an epsilon-ranked uniform of the enemy camp, the shade of red and black did wonders against the snow-like complexion of Dana and the noble elf as they trudged the empty plains of the southern territory. Kicking the piles of snow and stones in her way, Diana cleared the path for Gelong who was walking behind her like a duckling following its mother goose. The heaving sound of a set of constricted lungs made her stop. She turned around as she untied the black tattered satin from her neck before she placed it around Gelong’s frostbitten neck and chin.“We will find a safety spot for you with food and enough heat to last you as you wait for me.” Diana muttered under her breath. A ghost of a translucent smoke escaped from her chapped lips.Upon her words, Gelong lifted her chin to meet a set of orbs staring at him already – making him want to step back like always. “Where are you going? You are not planning to go into this plan without me, aren’t you?”On instinct, his hands found

Heavy footsteps together with the rattling of chains echoed within the empty corridors of the fortress they were staying at. The silent breathing of the elven folk did not leave unnoticed for Diana as the two of them were on high alert as they trudged within the hallways of the keep. Diana gritted her canines, enough to make her taste her blood trailing down her throat. She did not like, especially Teshin, how they were chain into submission. Had it not been for the remaining logic within her mind, she was sure that the corridor walls would have bathed the blood of the delta-ranked werewolf traitors.Three trecherous delta-ranked werewolves, clad with their uniforms which the insignia of the secret circle was embroidered, wore smug faces as they held the leash that the prisoners were bound to. One of the delta-ranked werewolves, who had a bloody knuckle, pulled the leash he was holding on a whim. On cue, Diana stumbled forward – losing her footing and which made her chin kiss the dust

The tip of the claw grazed Diana’s throat. Upon seeing her crying face, the first alpha, who was apprehensive about everything, was about to step forward when the second alpha, who was constantly courting death, spoke again. “Bring him in.”On cue, the enormous double doors of the throne room opened followed by the rattling of chains and the painful grunts of the person being dragged ensued. Diana, who was not able to turn her head, waited for the person to be brought in front of her. Amidst the temperature, his thin cloth barely covered his dainty body paired with his bare feet that buried a mark on the white-colored ground with every step he took, and a pair of eyes glowed like the rising moon.“Took you long enough to come here,” said the man who waited. His back was on him when he stood a meter away from the newly arrived person.“I enjoyed the last of my vacation for I know that the time has come for us to move; we will have no luxury to relax anymore.” The sweet voice answered the man. He took a step and moved ahead, striding past him before he kneeled in front of the tomb. “Rush vanala. It has been years since I last talked to you, but now we can’t do that anymore.” Lumeria, the dryad, heaved a shaky sigh before he continued. “And like what I promised, the wolven race is at stake.

Diana, who was left alone with the leader of the enemy, started to question why she was there. She somehow realized that it was not sheer curiosity that made him call her—it was something more. And for whatever it was, Diana felt she would not like wherever this ‘talk’ was going.“You are from the Crescent Pack, right? And you’re a hybrid as well.” The enemy leader started to speak without even telling her to raise her head.“Yeah right.” Though her head was bent down, Diana spoke with a clear and calm voice which the enemy leader found quite vexing. His eyes gleamed with malediction.“And when was the last heat of your pretty little shapeshifter? I am quite curious to spawn a hybrid of an elf and a wolf. They said that male elves can conceive as well.” This time, the enemy leader cracked a grin upon seeing the hybrid luna in front of him go rigid. He was ecstatic to know that the infamous hybrid luna’s weakness was someone so trivial —something that should be easy to deal with. Seein

The lamp that was hanging near the pillar had almost ran out of flame and the dozens of rushed footsteps from different directions right outside her tent were a telltale sign that the war had taken a pause but it was yet to end.“I am in an Alliance encampment,” said Diana as realization dawned upon her. After taking all the pieces together, she was a hundred percentile sure that the blood alpha had brought her in the encampment.‘Then, the abominations and Shananel did not chase us.
