"Hey, man. Why are you so quiet today?"

Reginald wasn't himself. He appeared distant and wasn't aware of what was going on around him.

I struck his desk. "Hey!"

This makes him jolt. "What's up?" he asked, looking lost.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"I don't think so. You appear lost. I've been talking to you but you aren't responding."

His hands slide down his face. "Oh."

"What's going on?" I asked, still concerned about his current mood.

"Trust me, man, I'm good. I think today is one of those days that I don't feel awe—"

He had stopped talking, his eye was fixed at the entrance of our class.

What was he looking at? There was no one there, but I quickly caught a glimpse of someone's ponytail and I recognized the sweater she was wearing this morning.

A pink color that softened her features and made he look so pretty.

I was sure it was Gwen who had just passed by. What I did not understand was that even after she had passed, his eyes were still fixed on the door.
