The deadline Lucius gave them was getting closer, and Demetria could feel how the nervousness lingered in their house. Her mother and Cassius often closed themselves off in the office, and no matter how much she tried, there was no chance to hear what they were talking about. After every conversation, both of them seemed gloomier. To not overthink everything, Demetria focused on her training.
