Darius sighed heavily, closing his eyes for a brief moment. He knew he had to act. He needed to take matters into his own hands, to stop this war before it escalated into something bigger than either could handle alone.

And it was up to him to do it, because that’s what the goddess had chosen for him to do. And so, once again, he gathered the remaining threads of his strength and willed them to flow through the bond, causing a powerful surge of energy to course through him.

With a loud groan, he threw his head back, feeling his body tingle in response to this new energy coursing through it.
