Chapter 7

Adrianna's POV

"Are we there yet?" I heard Hayley ask from behind.

This was the third time she asked me this.

"Not yet. When we're there, I'll tell you." I told her.

"But you've been saying that since. I want to see grandma." Jackson said.

"We're almost there. Just a few minutes. And you just asked me this five minutes ago."

"Cut them some slack. They're just eager to see their grandma." Shawn said while smiling.

"Mom," Hayley called out. " What about grandpa? Will we be seeing him too?" She asked.

I didn't know the response to give her. Whether to say yes and give her fàlse hope or lie to her and still find out the truth. I was confused at this point.

"Uhh…y…yes. You will." I struggled.

I looked outside the window of Shawn's car to see my pack. Mid-East pack. It has been a while. I instantly felt like old times when I saw members of my pack.

A lot of them were staring at me. I didn't know if they knew I was pregnant before I left or if they just wondered why I left.

We arrived at our compound. I looked around, but everything remained the same. From the gardens to the wolf-carved statues which signified it was our turf.

I signed knowing I was back here again. As much as I felt bad for my mom and wanted to see her, I wasn't happy about coming back here.

"We're here. Told you it would take just a few minutes." I stated.

"Mom, is this really where you used to live? It's so much bigger than where we are staying now." Jackson commented.

"Yes, it used to be my house."

I knew it would be difficult to try to explain anything to them right now. They wouldn't understand. They were still very much young and inquisitive.

"Okay, guys. Let's get out things." Shawn cut them off.

He always knew when I needed help in situations like this.

I went along to help them with the bags. We didn't pack much, I didn't want to stay here long. Nothing more than a week.

"I thought I heard my sister's voice." I heard someone say behind me. I could recognize his voice anywhere.

"Steven!" I shouted and ran over to him. I embraced him tightly.

"Can't breathe." He said while tapping my shoulder to release him a little.

I finally let go of him. "It's so good to see you. I haven't seen you in a long time." I said happily.

"Welcome home, sis. I miss you too." He said smiling.

He looked behind me like he was searching for something. "Twins?" I exclaimed.

"I thought…" he didn't complete his statement.

"It has always been twins. I just never mentioned it."

"Won't you come and give your uncle a hug?" Steven asked and they both looked at me to confirm.

I nodded and they went for it. I always taught them not to talk to strangers. I wasn't ready to lose them, so I took any precautions to keep them safe. My nodding shows that Steven was safe.

Shawn and Steven also created but it didn't take the time. They were friends after all and I was pretty sure they talked whenever they had the chance to.

But what I didn't know was if Steven knew that Shawn was my supposed boyfriend.

Steven ordered people to take out things. "Where's mom?" I asked Steven.

"Shed laying in her room." He answered.

"I'll go see her first," I said.

I walked to my mother's room with my two children following.

When I got in front of her door, I sighed.

I wasn't sure if I was ready to see her but all I knew was that I needed to be there for her now more than ever.

I opened the door slightly and slowly glanced inside. My dad wasn't there so I felt a little bit relaxed. "Adrianna?" My mom called.

"Mom," I said going over to her bed.

"Is that you?" She asked.

She looked really weak but I knew nothing was going to happen to her. "Yes, Mom," I answered.

She tried to stand up. " Mom, I don't think you should do that," I said.

"No. I want to see my beautiful daughter's face." She said and struggled to sit up.

I helped her until she was finally seated. When her eyes met mine, tears rolled down from her eyes.

"It is you. I'm sorry Adri." She said crying.

"I'm sorry I didn't defend you. I'm sorry you had to go through being raped all by yourself." I said and I was shocked.

"Did Steven tell you?" I asked in surprise.

I made it clear to Steven that I didn't want anyone to find out.

"Yes. I know you told him now to say anything. But he didn't like the way you were being treated. He couldn't take it anymore." She explained.

"I'm sorry, Adrianna. I'm sorry I didn't act like the mom you always wanted. I know it would be much to ask but please forgive me." She pleaded.

"It's fine Mom. I forgive you."

No matter how hurt I was, I couldn't look away like she wasn't sick. To me, I felt like she only apologized because she found out. If she didn't, she wouldn't have wanted to see me.

I stood up from my bed and stood behind my kids. "Mom," she stared at the two kids in front of me. "Jackson and Hayley. Kids, your grandma." I introduced them.

"You had twins?" My mom asked in surprise.

I knew everyone would be surprised. Twins weren't common. Plus, they all thought I gave birth to just a child.

"Yes, Mom. These are your grandkids." I said.

My mom gradually stood up from the bed she was lying sick. "Mom!!" I shouted.

She was struggling I could see it. I ran over to her to stop her.

"I want to see my grandkids. Don't worry, I'm fine." She assured me.

She went over and gave each of them hugs. "You both have grown so much." She complimented.

"Are you really out grandma?" Hayley asked.

Oh my God, Hayley. She always liked asking a lot of questions.

My mom chuckled. "Yes, I am. You both are so cute. We have a lot to catch up on." My mom said and I knew it was my cue to leave.

I wanted to find my father. I wanted to see for myself if he was still the same
