“What?” I muttered, sure that I didn’t hear him say the words right.
“I want you back, Elena, I will everything to make it right,” he quavered.
My lips parted and pressed themselves together in shock.
He wants me back after rejecting me?
“Elena please, leave the Alpha and come back to me. We’ll run away, we’ll go far away from here, we’ll create a pack, a pack stronger than the Dark Moon pack.”
“No one will be able to stop us, not even Xander,” he spilled despicable words and advanced to hold my cold hands.
“Get out!” I snapped and slapped his hands away.
I can’t believe what he is saying, how can he want me back after everything he had done to me?
Did someone make him do this? Could this be jealousy?
“Elena…”
“What do you take me for?” I cut him off. “A fool?” He shook his head vigorously, his grey eyes dilating in culpability.
“I love you, Elena, I never realized it until the Alpha took you away,” he stated.
He is right, the Alpha has taken me away from him. He doesn’t have a place in my life again. Oregon whimpered slightly, begging me to accept him back, but I was not ready to give in to her persuasion.
“I will not accept you back, Nathan, I belong to the Alpha. Our bond has been severed forever!” Oregon’s whimpering surged into cries but that didn’t move me one bit.
“Elena…”
“Leave!” I pointed my finger toward the door. “Or else I will have Xander take your head.”
He knew best not to press further so he turned and trotted away. I sighed, slammed shut the door, and turned around slowly. The gamma girl was staring wide-eyed at me.
“I think I’m ready to have my bath,” I muttered.
She jolted out of her trance and nodded her head.
“Come with me, my lady,” she beckoned and led me into the washroom. I made to pull off my dress but remembering that the girl was there I stopped.
She didn’t seem to give up sticking by me at any moment. After much-failed persuasion, I pulled off my dress and slipped into the bubble-filled tub. I felt a sting of embarrassment when I remembered the slash on my back.
“Uhmm…” I realized that I didn’t know her name.
“My name is Glacia, my lady.”
I wonder why she keeps calling me that.
“Call me Elena,” I said, getting irritated with the constant ‘my lady’.
She shook her head fervently, I could see fear building up in her eyes.
“No, the Alpha will have my head.”
The Alpha, an Alpha who doesn’t care about me? Why will he bother if I am being respected as the Luna, he only got me out of pity.
I inhaled deeply and dipped my back into the soapy water, the water sipped into the wound, stinging it. I closed my eyes and grimaced, letting the water flow through my body. I wish it could wash off the troubles and perils of my life, I wish it could wash away my life too.
A rasping knock sounded on the door and I groaned, forcing my heavy lids to snap open. Glacia made to go for it but I stopped her.
What does he want again? I’m trying so hard to cope with my recent problem and Nathan being the devil he is, is trying to mess up my life more.
The knock came again, louder than the first, Glacia glanced at the door worriedly, pleading with her eyes to let her open it.
“No, Glacia!” I replied sharply and she sighed, glancing at the door again.
“I don’t think it’s the Beta, it might be the Queen Luna,” Glacia suggested when the knock persisted.
My chest compressed at the mention of the Queen Luna, nervousness broke out sweat on my wet body as my heart thumped loudly.
Glacia understood my silence and left the washroom. I staggered out of the bathtub and slipped on a white fluffy bathrobe. The door swung open and Glacia’s smiling face popped in. “It’s the Queen Luna.”
I breathed in and out countlessly before stepping into the warm bedroom. I never realized it was warm.
I nervously dug my itching toes into the ground as I stared at the Luna. No doubt this was where the Alpha got his intimidating beauty from.
The Luna had a somewhat superior aura. The velvet blue gown she wore flowed lazily behind her, she had mesmerizing clear blue eyes which was a contrast to the Alpha’s dark blue eyes that sometimes glowed dangerously dark when he was upset. The Luna had a lovely body structure and her kinky brown hair cascaded down her shoulders.
She gracefully walked closer to me and held my chin. My breathing seized and my heartbeat increased in tempo. What this woman was doing to me I do not know, but one thing was clear she made me feel the way Alpha Xander always makes me feel whenever I was around him.
“Luna.” I attempted to bow but she stopped me.
Her smooth hands curled around my limp arm.
“You are just as Xander has told me,” she whispered.
I furrowed my brows in confusion.
Did the Alpha tell his mother anything about me? My eyes widened slowly as I imagined him telling her that Nathan was my mate.
“The… the alpha talked about me?” The smile smeared across her face didn’t disappear as I foolishly stuttered.
“Hmmm.” She shook her head.
“He said so much about you,” she responded. “And, it turned out to be true.” She slowly glanced at my full height, admiration danced around her iris. A pool of crimson color drowned my face.
“Thank you, Luna,” I slightly bowed.
If the Alpha told his mother good things about me then why is he being so cold?
I shrugged absentmindedly, perhaps, Nathan got him upset.
“Do you doubt it?” Luna’s enchanting voice propelled me back to the tense conversation. She noticed the shrug.
“I never imagined the Alpha praising me.”
“Why, because you’re an Omega?” her innocent question stung me as I stared at the ground, hiding my somber face.
“Perhaps,” I replied in a whisper audible enough to her hearing.
“Wha-what did he say about me?” I stuttered. I can’t believe I spoke to Queen Luna without being asked to.
She raised her brows and smiled.
“Everything.” My heart leaped.
“Everything?” I muttered. She doesn’t look like someone who knows a thing about my pathetic life.
“Your beauty, your nativity, your charisma, and the way he got attracted to you the first time his eyes met yours.” My jaws dropped.
“Did- did he tell you that?” I’m pretty sure a cat has got my tongue. I can’t even fix the right words where they belong.
“Don’t worry about the girls, they’ve been taken care of,” she waved her fingers, smiling at my shocked expression.
Glacia and her servant giggled quietly as they watched my animalistic behavior.
“Oh, I forgot to mention something,” she slapped her forehead and leaned closer to me, her hot breath fanned my tingling ears.
“He also told me how much he loves you.”
🥰 Author's Note🥰
Wow, Nathan wants her back and the Luna confessed how much Alexander loves her. Now, Elena is torn between the two, who do you think is the right one for her?
Don't forget to pop in those gems, and leave a review. Did I forget to mention that you lovely readers still have my purple heart?
“Did- did he say that about me?” I stuttered. She nodded and shifted away from me “Can- can I see him?” I asked. I wish she could say yes, I want to know why he acted that way earlier. “He’s in a meeting with the elders,” she said and my face fell in disappointment. “How about you take a rest, I’ll set up a dinner between the two of you,” she said and darted a sweet contagious smile at me. My hope was revived when she spilled those words. “I’ll see you later, Elena,” she cupped my cheeks and rubbed it fondly before strolling out. “Luna Violetta is the nicest person I’ve ever come across,” Glacia commented when she found me still staring at the closed door. I smiled lightly and slumped into the bed. Sometimes, life could be a game of cards, who would have imagined that a day would come when I would be the Luna, who would have thought that Nathan would come back pleading to be accepted into my life again? Well, I can’t wait to see the Alpha tonight, and neither can I wait to w
I felt like evaporating out of the face of the earth as I stood rigid in shock. My eyes were glistening in tears as they fixed themselves on the decorated table. My face was flushed in embarrassment, my blood boiled in anger and my heart was shattered in regret and grief. The once attractive garden lost its taste, to me, it became a barren garden that will keep springing out unwanted memories to hunt me for the rest of my life. A warm hand clasped around my cold slumped shoulder. I inhaled sharply and slowly turned. Nathan’s pale face became paler when he stared into my rheumy eyes. “Why, why did he do this to me?” I found myself whispering to him, I noticed my voice was quivering as I spoke. He shook his head and slid his hands down from my shoulder, it moved to my cheeks and cupped it. “I- I told you, didn’t I?” he stuttered, staring deep into my eyes. Anger suddenly replaced the bitterness hanging in my chest, I slapped away his hands and stepped farther from him. “You knew
~Nathan~Xander’s broad back leaned leisurely on the wall, his legs were crossed and his head tilted upwards in total nonchalance. My gaze left his posture and landed on Elena’s peaceful face. Streaks of tears were still evident on her cheeks and her eyes held large dark circles under them. Xander had brought her back to the castle earlier, unconscious. The Pack's healer has come and gone, assuring and reassuring us that she will be okay. “She experienced a major shock,” Levanda's voice came echoing into my head. Major shock? Did Elena see something in that restricted part of the Pack? I wonder what happened to her and where she had gone to. I hate myself for listening to her last night, I should have followed her even against her wish. Perhaps, if it be I had enough sense earlier I wouldn’t have let her fall into the snare of the Alpha. Talking of the Alpha, I swerved my head in Xander’s direction and found his piercing eyes on me. His eyes seemed to pene
I smiled in satisfaction when Nathan backed away in shock.“What do you have to say about that, Nathan?” I swerved around and trod back to the window.“I…I…it’s not possible!” He stuttered, sighing loudly.“Do you want to see it yourself then?” I asked, not looking at him.“Well…that won’t solve the problem,” he replied and I turned sharply.“Really?” I arched my brows in anger and I saw his muscles tense under the brown jacket.Silence broke out between us as we stood staring at each other, I in authority and he, in confusion.“Can you ever betray me?” my voice pierced through the veil of silence between us and he looked into my eyes. He parted his lips to reply but shut them again and looked away.“No, why will I?” he said, staring at the plain wall. Why will he?Nathan has been my best friend since childhood, I have always known that he will be my Beta. He is the only one I have ever trusted since our paths crossed.Nathan is the last person who will think of betraying m
Glacia nudged me slightly and I peeked at her, grumbling loudly. “It’s time, you get up, my lady,” Glacia mused. I sighed and got down from the bed. Ever since I woke up, I have been lying in bed wondering what that monster is. How can a monster be the Dark Moon Pack? How come the Alpha doesn’t know about this beast? But then, the Alpha was the one who saved me, does that mean that he killed the beast? Or did the beast escape before his arrival, how did he know that I was there, how did he know that I needed help? He can’t be feeling the mate bond because he’s not my mate. “My lady?” Glacia’s voice pierced through my thoughts and snapped me back to reality. I sighed and sat up. If there’s someone who has the answer to these perturbing questions, it is the Alpha and I must extract the answers from him. “Would you like to eat something before taking a shower?” Glacia leaned closer as she asked. “I will …” she stopped talking and tilted her head in surprise her eyes fixed on m
I stared at the hands wrapped around Xander, my crystal red eyes moved to Xander’s face, he looked comfortable in other arms. “Aurora?” Xander muttered, he breathed in and shut his eyes, he must be taking in her peculiar scent.“How did you know that it was me?” The crisp sweet voice muttered behind him.“Your scent can never be mistaken,” Xander said, his eyes snapped open. My heart fell when I saw those mesmerizing dark blue eyes flooding with happiness. The hands snapped away from him and the bearer spun around and stood before him.I didn’t see her face but from behind, I knew she was extremely beautiful. Her dark brown wavy hair cascading down to her waist swept around in tidal waves. The blue velvet gown flowing down to the floor gummed around her slim waist, bringing forth her perfect curves.“You came early, unlike you,” Xander said, smiling sweetly down at her. I heard my own heart breaking at that lovely smile that should have been for me.She laughed. A sharp echoin
I stared at the door Aurora had walked through. Her words kept bouncing around my mind, pulling strings of torment at me. It can’t be true, the Alpha didn’t accept me as his mate to watch me die, is that a way of giving me an easy death? I shook my head again and sighed. His cold behavior towards me clearly shouted out that he didn’t love me. The way he looked at Aurora, smiled at her and talked to her gave me a huge clue that he didn’t want me but her. The door swung open and the voice I’ve forever been evading sank into my ear. “How are you feeling now, Elena?” I spun around, glaring at Nathan’s face. “Well, as you can see, I’m fine,” I snapped. I still can’t understand where this unusual courage comes from whenever I am with him. He smiled wryly, tilting his neck nervously. “The Alpha’s lover seems to be a sassy lady,” I was finally beginning to start a conversation, unusually. He swerved his head in my direction, and his wide shocked eyes stared at me. I smiled ruefully
~Nathan~“What the hell do you think you are doing, Nathan?!” I can see the fear build up in Elena’s eyes as Xander’s angry voice shoots through the room. She roughly pushed me away and rushed into the bathroom, banging the door loudly. My eyes trailed from the closed door to Xander’s angry face. Aurora was hovering behind him, a smirk splattered across her smug face. “What are you doing?” Xander repeated, his eyes burning in fury. “I just came to check up on her,” I replied, perspirations covered my palms as his gaze tore my flesh away and burned into my bones and marrows. “That was not what I saw!” he stamped his feet and the marble beneath his feet made cracking sounds. “I…I..” My eyes stared at the floor. “Thank you for coming, Nathan, I appreciate your concern for my health, unlike some people,” Elena said behind me. I spun around sharply and looked at her in surprise, did she just speak up for me? Her eyes were haughtily fixed on Xander’s face. The anger on his face
~Elena(Louisa)~ It was hard trying to convince Kayla and my foster parents to let me go, though they had no other choice but to heed my request. I was told that I was found floating on the shore of a beach the day they found me. They took me to the hospital and had me saved but when I woke up, I couldn’t remember anything about myself, not even my name. My foster parents, who had lost their daughter a month before they found me, took me in and named me after her, Louisa Neville. I was given the nickname ‘Luna’ because they thought I had a peculiar scent that didn’t belong to the human race. It was hard being who I wasn’t and leaving who I was but somehow, the cruel fate that separated Xander and I eight years ago was able to bring us back together, this time in a different way, in the best way. I wasn’t a contract Luna, nor Nathan’s mate. I was Alpha Xander’s true Luna, his fated mate. And this time around, nothing will be able to separate me and Xander. “Are you
~Xander~ I touched her pale face, tracing her chin with my fingers slowly. She stirred and fluttered her lashes, groaning loudly as her hand flew to her forehead. “Elena?” I called out even if she might decline to be Elena like she did the first time we met. Her eyes snapped open and she sat up on the bed. She glanced around the room and her eyes fell on her parents and sisters. "Mother, father," she gasped out and my brows snapped up in surprise. They gasped out and wrapped their hands around her. "I missed you so much, sister," Areola sobbed and hugged her. Melsa walked closer to Elena and rubbed her cheeks. "You are alive?" she muttered with tears glistening in her eyes. I watched Elena nod her head before burying her head on her shoulder. Elena's father glanced at me and gestured for the others to leave the room with him. I was the last person her eyes fell on and when it did, it widened in shock. “Xander,” the sound of my name from her mouth made me raise my
~Louisa~ My lips parted, and I let out a scream that got Kayla running into my room. My door burst open, and I clenched unto Kayla, who rushed to me. “Wolf, wolf!” I exclaimed, pointing at the spot I found it earlier but to my surprise, there was nothing there. Was the wolf gone, or was I hallucinating? “There is nothing there,” Lisa’s annoying voice spoke up. “Tell me what happened, honey, calm down,” Kayla muttered, rubbing my back soothingly. I took in a deep breath and started my explanation. “I saw a wolf, a huge black wolf, standing right there,” I pointed at the spot again. Lisa chuckled in disbelief. I narrowed my eyes at her and faced Kayla. “You need to believe me, Kay, it was standing right there, staring at me with golden eyes. It must have run into the woods when I screamed, I saw it!” I screamed out. My heart sank when I saw the look on Kayla’s face. She doesn’t believe me too, she thought I was making it all up. “I’m not making it up,” I whispered
~Louisa~ The shrill ringtone of my phone got me groaning as I forcefully snapped my eyes open and reached out for my phone, which had been ringing for half an hour. I gasped out loudly as my mom’s name flashed across the screen. “Hello, mummy,” I muttered, sitting up on the bed. “What took you so long to answer your phone, huh? I’ve been calling for hours; I thought something bad had happened to my sweet baby. You got us all so worried that I thought I would die of heartache. Isn’t the place nice? Do you want to switch—” “Mom, I’m fine!” I snapped, making her stop her endless talk. I heard her sigh in relief. “Why didn’t you pick up your calls? We called for hours.” “I was asleep, and besides, it’s not even up to an hour since I fell asleep,” I replied, narrowing my eyes at the exaggeration she was making. “Whatever, whatever, tell me how that place is, hmm? Do you like it?” “Well…” This is my chance to get away from the weird surroundings that no one loves to come
~Louisa~ I pushed Jason away and when I spun around, the stranger was gone. I faced Jason, filled with anger. “Are you crazy?” “Luna—” “I don’t like you!” My outburst made Kayla cringe back in shock. Jason’s lips parted and slammed together. I sighed out, trying to calm down after what he had done. “I’m sorry, Jason, I understand how you feel about me, but I don’t feel the same way for you,” I confessed. Kayla walked up to us and tried to talk me out of what I was saying but I shooed her out, standing on my words. “I don’t love you, Jason. You should find someone who does.” My heart shrank in guilt as disappointment and pain laced across his face. “Thank you for telling me the truth, Louisa,” he replied and walked away, not sparing a glance. Though I was filled with guilt for hurting him I was glad that I told him the truth before his feelings got deeper. I felt like a burden had been taken out of my heart. A hard slam on my head brought me bac
~Louisa~ “Brandon?” I scoffed and turned to take another path but he drew me back, clenching unto my arm. “Hey, let me go!” I yelled. “I have missed you, Luna; let’s get back together again; I promise to be a good boy,” he said, mischief twinkling in his dark eyes. I scowled at him, certain that there was no single ounce of repentance in him. When he didn’t relent to my warnings, I splashed the brandy on his face. The liquid got into his eyes and stung him greatly, forcing him to release me. “You scumbag, don’t you dare show up in front of me again,” I snapped at him and sent my feet into his groin. He cursed loudly and dropped to the ground, his face wrinkling in pain. “That’s for showing your disgusting face in front of me,” I muttered and blessed him with an eye-rolling slap, making him spit out blood. “And that’s for saying shit.” I grabbed a bottle of liquor and cups and went down to the place I had left Nat. As expected, she was waiting patiently for me. “
~Xander~ I stood by the window, watching the cars that drove in and out of the large gate of the castle. “Dear,” Mother’s voice piped behind me, and I shifted my attention away from the bustling activities below the castle. “Are you still drinking?” Mom asked and I glanced at the bottle of liquor on the table. “You don’t have to worry about me, Mother; I am fine,” I muttered, cupping her cheeks. She sighed and rubbed my hairy arm. “The elders are waiting for you in the throne room. It’s been eight years, and you’re yet to find a Luna for the people. Besides, we need an heir, too. Everyone is worried,” Mother muttered, and the smile on my face disappeared. I narrowed my eyes and pulled my wardrobe open then picked out a shirt. “I will wait for Elena to return.” Mother sighed at the words she had been hearing for the past eight years. “No one survives in that water, you said it yourself. She must be dead, she—” “I am leaving for the meeting,” I cut her off, slipping on the sh
~Louisa~ “One, two, three, go!” We chorused and poured the shots of liquor down our throats. “Oh shit! This burns,” Kayla muttered in a croaky voice. “I’ve got lots of projects this week,” Philo chipped, popping on a bubble gum. “And here you are drinking,” I chuckled. “Come on guys, what’s the motto!” Natasha snapped and we poured another shot and raised it over our head before screaming our absurd motto. “Drink now, study later!” We poured down the shot and slammed the tumblers on the table, coughing and breathing hard in laughter. “We should come here tomorrow, don’t you girls think so?” Natasha said and they all nodded their head in approval. “What about you, Luna?” Natasha asked, their eyes fixed on me. “Me?” I stammered and shook my head, backing out of the plan. “I’ve got work to do.” “Work?” Philo muttered, twitching her lips in disgust. “Community service. An architect student will never understand,” I replied, narrowing my eyes at her. They all bur
~Xander~“We searched the entire kingdom, Alpha. She is nowhere to be found,” Philip’s voice spoke up behind me.I smashed the vase I was admiring on the wall and spun around with eyes reddened in anger.Philip flinched back on seeing my face.“You searched the entire wolf kingdom?” I scoffed and Philip nodded.“Nathan must have been smart enough to take her away from the wolf lands,” Philip muttered a reply, rubbing his clammy hands against each other.“She hasn’t been found yet?” My mother asked from the doorway. The silence she received made her break into tears. She entered the study room and walked up to me then gripped my collar as she seethed angrily.“You have to find her, Alpha, you must find her!”I shut my eyes, breathing in deeply. All these things are happening because of me. If only I had woken up earlier, Nathan wouldn’t have snatched her out of my grip. How am I going to find her?The beast no longer lives in me, I can no longer track her location using the
