I cried out in pain. The plastic bag I was carrying had torn and the plate had cracked, the contents were spilled on the ground. My hope for breakfast was gone.
I was angry and hurt, I wanted to teach this man a lesson.
The man stood above me, smiling.
“How rude to run away from a gentleman." He said, his voice was filled with sarcasms.
It was times like this I wished I was a Luna. I growled at the man.
He threw his head back in laughter.
I tried standing up but he brought his foot to my face and pressed it against my cheek, the under of his shoes smelt like dirt, I tried my best to push his leg out of my face but in return he pressed it harder.
I yelled and he kicked my face.
“If I hear even a whimper from you... I'm gonna break you into two." He warned.
I was quiet, his threats didn't seem like bluff to me, he lifted me from the ground and pulled me towards the alley.
I fought him, kicked his leg and lunged towards him, he pushed me away from him, raised his hand in the air and threw a deafening slap across my cheek.
The ringing in my ear was louder than any I've ever heard.
" Foolish rogue... " He yelled but it sounded like a whisper because my ears were still ringing.
He pushed my body against the wall of the alley, the brick were freezing cold against my cheeks.
The man sucked on my neck and my eyes widened in realization of what he was about to do.
I pushed myself away from the wall.
“Everytime you struggle, you get punished." He said turning me to face him, he slapped me again in the same cheek and pushed me back onto the wall.
“Must protect the pup!." My wolf yelled.
If there was anything I could do. I felt tears slip past my eyes and I gritted my teeth in anger, this was not the time to cry, no one would save me.
The Gamma lifted my skirt and I felt his strong cold fingers touch my tighs, then it crawled upwards and his hot breath crashed against the back of my neck as he sniffed me.
“Please don't do this, I'm pregnant... I'm carrying a pup." I begged the Gamma , I heard a thunderous laughter.
“Don't worry, what I'm about to do would not hurt your pup, I might even give it a companion..." He said.
“No!." I yelled fighting him.
His fingers wrapped around the back of my neck, he pulled me away from the wall, and he was about to smash my face against it when suddenly, his fingers left my neck and I heard a loud thud.
My legs and hands were trembling, I could almost feel my blood running through my veins, I was so scared.
I turned to the Gamma and he was sprawled on the ground, motionless.
“Heyyy, are you alright?." A deep voice asked me, my eyes lifted sharply to the person speaking. Serious Amber eyes stared at me with concern. But it might just be an act, my former pack members would stare at you with concern and end up shoving your face two feets into the ground.
I shifted back, my back pressed against the wall.
“Please don't hurt me, please." I begged the man. My heart was punching against my rib cage and my breathing was becoming abnormal.
The last time this happened, I had fainted. I knew very well that this was the worst time for my body to shut down from sudden shock but I couldn't fight it.
The last thing I felt were strong hands wrapping around me.

I woke up to silence. I sat up from the unfamiliar bed, I didn't know where I was but the room was large and beige themed.
I climbed down from the bed, suddenly the feel of the fabric on my body made me alert, I looked down to see that I was wearing a big T shirt, it was so big it stopped just above my knee.
I hugged my myself, feeling very naked. I knew that someone had changed me from my clothes and had seen my nakedness.
I cringed as the thought ran through my mind, I pushed past the door and made it to the hallway.
The place seemed deserted and oddly quiet, the halls were vast and they stretched very far. I was relieved when I saw a staircase, I walked down the stairs only to be filled by dread when I came in contact with an identical hallway.
I was lost.
The sound of voices made me walk over to a slightly open door.
I peeked in, there were several men wearing dark suits, amongst them was a familiar face, the man that had asked me if I was alright yesterday before I blacked out.
“You have to secure this position!." A voice shrieked.
“Don't you dare raise your voice at me... Know your place!." The man from yesterday said, his commanding voice cut through like glass, filling the room with the loudest silence I have ever heard.
“I'm sorry sir... Please forgive me."
The man stood up, his jarring height dwarf the other men who were sitting, his seemed to lessen everything in the room and his presence carried an authoritative aura.
“Since getting married is the only way I would secure that position then I'd have to find a wife for myself.... You all are dismissed." The man said.
There was silence in the room, I expected the other men to stand up and walk out but they were reluctant.
“B-but, boss... Y-you have to find a wife soon." One man said, his voice was trembling with fear.
“He is right sir, the deadline is in twenty four hours." The other man said.
“Twenty four hours and you called this meeting today!." The man from yesterday yelled, his voice thundered, I felt a shiver run down my spine.
I pitied the men he was angry at, nobody would want to be in their shoes. I felt as if I could touch the anger if I reached my hand out.
“We're sorry boss... We're so sorry." The men said fearfully.
“Get out, leave!." The man roared.
The men quickly stood from their chairs and ran out of the door, they were in such a hurry that they didn't even see me.
I placed my back on the wall, as they ran the other way, when they had exited the hallway, I walked back to the door about to keep on peeking when the man's Amber eyes met mine. I had been caught.
I froze as he made his way towards me.
Cullian's POVI feel someone's stare at me, when I turn to the door, the girl from yesterday is standing there, immediately she sees me, she scurries away from the door.I walk to where she's standing, her back is pressed to the wall as if she's the paint, her eyes are casted downwards. I tower over her, I like the way my shirt eat her up, I like the fact that I'm much more bigger than her, she's small in size compared to me.“How do you feel?." I asked her and her shoulders trembled at the sound of my voice, she looked up at me and I'm captivated by the ocean blue of her eyes. She looked down to her feet quickly, her fingers grabbing the edge of the shirt I had changed her into earlier, she looked sexy in my clothe, too sexy, I wanted to touch her.I cleared my throat and fisted my hands into my pockets at both sides of my trouser. “I'm fine... Thank you for saving me." She said, her voice was soft and sweet. She looked up at me again, gratitude in her eyes but it is quickly replace
“Wait what?!“ I asked him in shock, my mouth flew open. Was that even possible?. “What's wrong?“ he moved a step backwards, his calm face suddenly replaced with a frown. Of course everything was wrong, I was a rouge and soon to be a mother. All I wanted was to find a way to take care of I and my pup alone, not this!“Mr Cullian, I don't think that what you are asking would be possible, all I want right now is to leave, and i do appreciate your help last night,” I said facing downwards, I couldn't meet his eyes, those glowing amber eyes could make me change my mind.“Well, I'll give you some time to think about it then.” He said, I looked up at him in astonishment. Didn't he hear what I just said? He gave me a warm smile, before walking out.I became dumbfounded. My Alpha mate had just dumped me for a Luna who was more stronger, prettier, I mean everything than me, how then would a powerful, wealthy and charming Lycan king like Cullian ask me to marry him in just a few hours of meeting
Cullian's POV.“Yes, I'll be your wife” I wasn't sure I heard her right.“But only till you have secured the position, then we can split ways, deal?“ I nodded my head, too shocked by her acceptance that I couldn't speak. She stretched her hand towards me for a hand shake. This time her eyes were intently fixed on mine.“Deal,” I managed to respond while I returned the shake. I hoped that she didn't hear my voice crack a little from being too overwhelmed, goddamn! This was only a contract marriage with this woman and i was this excited. I tried to comport myself by standing up straight, so I turned to her one more time.“I will inform my lawyer to bring the contract for you to sign,” I said to her as I watched Melinda come in with some shopping bags containing Darlene's clothes.A few hours later, my lawyer arrived with the contract and we both signed them, we were now legally husband and wife, the contract was to last for two years, and that was it, Just two years. After the meeting

It was raining heavily.Oh wait! I noticed a figure laying close to me, not just close to me, I could feel his hands wrapped around me. No way! He was cuddling me?“You're awake, I heard him say, slowly he bent to plant a kiss on my forehead, it was gentle and soft, it sent a warm fuzzy feeling down my spine. Reluctantly, he released me from his grip and he sat up, I was still laying down, i looked up to see this handsome man glancing down at me, there was excitement in his sparkling Amber eyes, our eyes were both locked in each others, i didn't want to look away either, why was he gazing at me lik
I went back to my room, sat on the bed heaving a deep breath. What was I expecting? Besides, a handsome man like Cullian had the right to have as many mistresses as he wanted. But why did I seem to care? Why could I feel such jealousy burning inside of me? I seemed to be forgetting I was only here for a contract marriage, and in three years time we would be out of each other's lives. I was only doing this for the money, right? “Stop worrying Darlene, it's only for the money,” I whispered, convincing myself.“Here is your cup of milk, I hope you won't change your mind again,” I turned to glance at Cullian as he made his way into the room, he was holding a tray, and on top was a cup of milk and a plate of cookies. “How did he know I was also craving cookies?“I tried to force a smile but I think he had noticed my mood, Or rather it was me who couldn't hide my feelings.“Is everything alright?” he asked, placing the trey on the bed.“Why are you pretending to care Cullian? after all I'm
in a split second Cullian was already in her. He had taken Darlene in a sharp thrust, her hands got hold of the sheet grabbing it so hard like her whole body was about to be drowned, her legs wrapped around Cullian's waist, drawing him nearer…. Deeper into her.The sharp loud thumping of both their bodies. Clasping together, Echoed the state of Darlene's own.She could feel their souls set ablaze, was this love? No, was this really how it felt?Soon Darlene's eyes were closed again, the moves became grander. More sophisticated, more passionate. Each moves we're special and unique. A memorable moment. The sound of their heartbeat had taken control of the room. The rhythmic thrusting started out a song, A tune that was only comprehensible by both their souls, linked in one flesh and spirit. Both their souls set out the tune for their bodies to follow, and they obeyed, moving graciously.“Darlene, you're mine, mine alone, you're not leaving me,” Cullian whispered into Darlene's ears.CU
Few minutes ago, the men had carried me out of the car, to a place I couldn't see, they had blindfolded me in the car, tying up both my hands and feet. Gawdess! What was I thinking, if I hadn't left Cullian's house, these men wouldn't have found me, wait! I can hear footsteps coming towards my direction.“Please, where I'm I? What did I do wrong? please tell me, why did you and your men bring me here?,” I couldn't see who it was, I wasn't even sure anybody was there. “Soon you'll find out, for now, eat this, just know you're an asset to us now,,” I heard a man voice, I felt his hand at the back of my head, he had loosen up the blindfold, I squinted my eyes turning around, I really wanted to know where I was. It was an empty room, maybe an empty room in an enormous mansion, because despite the white painted room being totally empty, the tile on the floor and the Chandelier looked quite expensive.“Why I'm I here? I did nothing wrong,” I said to the man squatting behind me, he was Loos
“Cu,Cullian?“ How did he find me?Well I guess you're of no use to me princess,” the master pointed a gun at me, Gawdess, I swear I could already see the light. He was about to pull the trigger when someone broke into the room. It was my Cullian.“Don't you dare, I'll blow your brains out even before you could pull your trigger,” Cullian said.“How pathetic, you know that can't happen cousin, Look Cullian I only want your position, we could still do this the easy way, give up the position and I let her go, or else you lose both her and the throne,” The master, Lucas said.“ Why haven't you grown up? Release my wife, or else I'll kill you like I did to all your men,” Cullian said with all Authority in his voice, who knew a man like this could love someone like me.Indeed I really did matter to him, he didn't just forget about me, he wasn't pissed I had run out on him, he was willing to risk his life for me, or rather risk his cousin's life.“Lucas, you know what I can do when I get an
DARLENE'S POV. The weight of Conri’s voice lingered in my mind as I stood frozen by the phone. Panic surged within me, but I couldn’t let fear take hold of me—not here, not now. I and Cullian had fought too hard for this peace. “Mommy?” Aurora’s voice broke through my thoughts. I turned to see her standing in the doorway, concern etched on her face. I couldn’t let her see my fear. “Just a minute, sweetie!” I called out, forcing a smile. I needed to focus on what mattered, my husband—my children, my family. Cullian walked out of the kitchen agaim, his brow furrowed with worry. “Darlene, what’s wrong?” “It was nothing, just a client,” I lied, pushing down the knot in my stomach. I didn’t want to ruin the evening with my fears. “Alright,” He nodded, but I could still see the concern in his eyes. As i made my way upstairs, my children ran around me, I tried to join in, but my thoughts kept drifting back to Conri. How could he still be alive? ——— We had dinner together, a
DARLENE'S POVA month had passed since we moved back home, and life haven't felt as peaceful.l as it feels now. I now enjoyed my daily routine—mornings filled with laughter, long days at work, and cozy evenings with my family. It was everything I had fought for, and I was thankful for it all.As I walked through the front door, tired from a long day, I felt the stress begin to melt away because I could hear the sounds of my kids laughing in the living room, which made me smile.“Mummy!” Aurora shouted, her little feet rushing toward me. I dropped my bag and knelt down, arms wide open to receive her.“Hey, my little sunshine!” I hugged her tightly. Drake and Blake soon joined us, their faces lit with excitement.“Did you bring us anything?” Blake asked, his big eyes sparkling.“Just this,” I said, ruffling his hair which made him giggle. Just then, Cullian appeared from the kitchen, a towel over his shoulder and a grin on his face.“Welcome home!” he said, his voice warm and invitin
CULLIAN'S POV.The room felt like a battleground, the air filled with the scent of sweat and blood. Every breath I took tasted metallic. Conri loomed before me. His eyes burned with a relentless rage.As we clashed again, pain shot through my body. Conri’s claws raked across my side, tearing through flesh and fur. I winced, feeling the warm trickle of blood pooling beneath my pelt. Each strike from him felt like a hammer against my bones, and I struggled to keep my footing. 'I can’t let him win. I can’t let him take them from me.'“Is this all you’ve got?” Conri mocked, his breath hot and foul. “You’re just prolonging the inevitable.” The taunt stung more than the wounds he inflicted.I lunged at him, desperation fueling my movements. I managed to catch his flank with my teeth, but he retaliated with a brutal snap of his jaws. His teeth sank into my shoulder, and I let out a growl of pain, the sharpness of his bite sending shockwaves through my body. 'How much longer can I endure this
Darlene's POVDarlene couldn't stop walking around room in Hawaii, her heart racing. They had flown here seeking safety and peace, but now a heavy weight of dread settled in her chest. Cullian had promised to protect them, and yet he hadn’t answered her calls. “Mummy, is Daddy coming back soon?” Blake’s small voice broke through her thoughts.Darlene knelt beside her son, forcing a smile. “Yes, sweetie. Daddy will be back soon. He just has some important things to take care of.” But inside, her anxiety grew. She had tried calling Cullian several times, each unanswered ring echoing in her mind. The air felt charged, as if a storm was brewing. Darlene’s instincts screamed that something was wrong. She could feel it deep in her bones. The thought of Cullian facing danger alone made her stomach twist. “Why won’t he answer?” she murmured, glancing at Blake, who seemed to sense her worry. “Is he okay?” Blake asked, his eyes wide with concern.“I hope so, honey. I really hope so.” Darlene
Cullian paced, his heart racing. He could sense something was off; the air was thick with tension. Suddenly, a loud crash broke in. Cullian rushed to the window, his instincts screaming at him. He saw figures moving in the darkness—his guards. They were fighting, but one by one, they fell, taken down swiftly by an unseen force. "Conri…" Cullian muttered under his breath. He knew him too well, and he knew this was no ordinary attack. Just as Cullian turned to grab his jacket, a loud bang echoed through the front door. It burst open, and there stood Conri, his presence dominating the room. He was alone, but his aura was enough to fill the space with dread. Cullian’s jaw clenched. “You shouldn’t have come here, Conri.”“I had to see you one last time before I end this,” Conri replied, a smirk on his lips. The two men faced each other, tension crackling in the air. Cullian stepped forward, fists clenched. “You think you can just walk in here and threaten my family?”Conri chuckled da
As I neared the exit, I knew I would do whatever it took to find her. Nothing would stand in my way.DARLENE'S POV.“Mummy! Daddy!” Drake and Blake shouted in unison as they raced toward us. My heart melted as they enveloped Cullian and me in a tight embrace, their warmth a stark contrast to the chilling events that had just unfolded. We had literally escaped death. It was heartbreaking to realize that, for a moment, I had feared we might never see our children again. The thought lingered painfully in my mind, a reminder of how fragile our lives could be.Cullian knelt down, gently ruffling Blake's and Drake's hair with a tender smile. “I missed you so much, buddy,” he said, his voice filled with relief.“But Dad, why did you leave us all day? We woke up and couldn’t find you. Where did you three go?” Drake asked, his brows furrowed in confusion and concern.“We were kidnapped,” Aurora mumbled softly, her voice trembling. “But Dad came to save us,” she added, her eyes shining with adm
Cullian’s POVThe footsteps grew louder, each step a reminder of the danger we were in. I felt the weight of responsibility pressing down on me—not just for Darlene and Aurora, but for my two sons back home, who must be worrying about us. Hours had passed since we left, and the thought of them waiting, anxious and alone, fueled my resolve.“Darlene, stay quiet,” I whispered, my eyes scanning the dim corridor for any sign of escape. I could feel Aurora trembling against me, her small hands gripping my shirt tightly. I needed to reassure them both, but I had to stay focused. The guard’s footsteps paused just outside the door, and I held my breath, praying he wouldn’t turn back. I could see the tension in Darlene’s shoulders, and I wished I could ease her fears. If we were caught now, we would all be lost—my family’s safety depended on this moment.Just then, a faint noise caught my attention—an alarm blaring somewhere in the distance. The guard’s head snapped toward the sound, his expr
“Darlene,” he whispered, leaning closer, “I think I have an idea.”My breath hitched as I met his eyes. “What is it?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. Cullian glanced back at the dead man sprawled on the ground a few feet away. “We can take his uniform. It’s a little tight, but it should work. I can sneak out past the guards if I look like one of them.”I nodded, understanding the urgency of our situation. “Okay, but be careful. We don’t know how many guards are out there.”He nodded, and I watched as he moved cautiously toward the body. I kept my eyes on the entrance, ready to alert him if anyone approached. The man lay still, the remnants of life extinguished in a single gunshot. I suppressed a shudder as I thought about how close we had come to a similar fate. Cullian knelt beside him, carefully unbuttoning the uniform jacket. “Here goes nothing,” he murmured, stripping off the jacket and shirt. I could see the muscles in his arms tense as he pulled the fabric over his he
The fight went on until...“Let my family go, you bastard!” Cullian yelled, pushing Conri out the window.“What’s going on? I heard noises,” Conri's mother rushed into the room, her gaze landing on Cullian.“Who the hell are you?! Guards!” Conri's mother yelled.“You shouldn’t worry about them. They’re all unconscious. I’m just here to get my wife and daughter,” Cullian said, breaking the chains from my hands and legs.Conri's mother didn’t know that her son had fallen out of the window. Cullian and I kept quiet because if she found out, we wouldn’t be leaving here.“Why, then, is the room a mess, and where is my son?” she asked, her gaze searching the room.Cullian ignored her, grabbing my hand. “Come on, Darlene, let’s go. We have to find Aurora,” he said. I nodded.“I think I know where she is,” I responded, getting down from the bed as we both walked out of the room, leaving Conri's mother dumbstruck.“Hey, I need to get my daughter back,” I said, approaching the maid. She looked
