Kira's POV

"I remember those eyes from the dark forest..." My voice trails off as I stare at Julian because now that I've gotten a proper look at him, there's no mistaking it — I've seen those silver eyes before.

He's the one who saved me in the forest. The one who silently paid for those dresses when I was nearly accused of stealing. And the same figure I almost caught a glimpse of at the hospital.

I clear my throat, forcing my voice to stay steady. "It was you, wasn't it?"

His gaze flicks to me, cold and unreadable. "I already told you — no."

The sharpness in his tone should’ve ended the conversation, but I press on because all I want to do is thank the man for helping me out.

“You’re lying,” I insist, shifting to face him. “I recognize your eyes. I know it was you.”

His expression hardens. “You’re imagining things.”

“I’m not,” I argue. “Why won’t you just admit it?”

Before he can answer, the car jolts violently as it hits a bump. I yelp as I’m thrown forward —

Kira's POV. Should I go to Damian's car or stay with Julian? I sit frozen in my seat, staring at Damian like he’s grown a second head. How dare he asks me to ride with him after leaving me behind like I was nothing? “I—” I start to speak, but his sharp voice cuts through. “Kira, in the future, you must know that I don't like to repeat myself… Now get out of the car and go to mine,” Damian snaps, his tone cold and commanding. My fingers twitch, and a familiar fear coils in my chest while my body reacts on instinct. I reach for my bag, already shifting to climb out. I don’t want to make Damian angry because I know what happens when Alphas get angry… I remember it clearly. (Flashback) I was eight, hiding behind the kitchen counter when Alpha Gregory stormed into our house. His face was red with rage, while his voice boomed as he yelled at my father. Something about missing goods at the storage unit. My poor father tried to explain, with his hands raised in defense, but Alpha Gr

Kira's POV. The drive to Crimson Crown is long and miserable in Damian's car. My body aches from being crammed in the backseat, wedged between bags and luggage. Every bump in the road feels like a punch to my spine, and by the time we finally pull into the pack’s territory, I’m stiff and sore. But my discomfort is forgotten the moment I see the pack itself. Bright lights illuminate sleek, modern buildings, their glass windows reflecting the moonlight like crystals. Paved roads wind smoothly through the area, with street lamps lining the paths. Houses aren’t just big — they’re luxurious, with large balconies, polished stone exteriors, and well-manicured lawns. Compared to my old pack’s small, outdated structures, Crimson Crown feels like an entirely different world. Wow, this is incredible... I’m still staring out of the glass when Damian clears his throat sharply. “Listen,” he says, his voice low and cold. “I need you to follow some rules while you’re here.” I tear my ga

Kira's POV The maid and I walk across the grounds, and I can't help but silently admire how well-maintained everything is. The stone paths are spotless, and lanterns cast a soft golden glow across the property. Crimson Crown feels less like a pack and more like a kingdom. “You must be exhausted,” the maid says kindly, breaking the silence. “I am,” I admit, my voice quieter than I intended. “My name’s Martha, by the way,” she adds with a warm smile. “I’ll be helping you get settled here.” “Thank you, Martha, I'm Kira.” I say softly, grateful for her kindness. “Well, Kira let’s get you settled,” Martha says with a smile. We stop at a side entrance of the mansion, and Martha leads me inside. I expect dark, cold corridors and cramped rooms — something barely livable — but instead, I’m greeted by a surprisingly warm and inviting space. The hallway is lined with polished wooden floors, and the walls are painted a soft cream color. The air smells faintly of lavender. “This is it,” Ma

Kira's POV. My heart pounds so hard I can feel it in my throat. Fear, anxiety, and dread swirling inside me as Alpha Magnus’s cold gaze pins me in place. I don’t know what’s worse — being caught on Julian’s lap or the fact that Damian is standing there, looking furious after warning me to stay away from his brother. “Julian,” Alpha Magnus says, his voice low and sharp, “what are you doing with the new maid Damian brought back with him?” “You should be asking him that,” Julian replies pointing at Damian with his tone dry and clipped. Embarrassment washes over me, and I scramble off Julian’s lap, nearly knocking myself down in the process. “I-It’s not what it looks like, Alpha Magnus,” I stammer, my voice barely above a whisper. But suddenly Damian steps forward before I can explain further. “Nothing serious dad,” he says with a casual shrug. “Kira was just about to clean my room when she walked in at the wrong time. She saw something she shouldn’t have and bolted.” His e

Kira's POV. The room goes still the moment the head chef asks, “Who made this?” Every head in the kitchen turns — and every finger points at me. My stomach twists as the chef’s sharp eyes lock onto mine. He strides across the room, stopping right in front of me. His presence feels suffocating, like the air itself is pressing down on my chest. “You,” he says, voice low and firm. “Who taught you to make that soup?” I swallow hard, my mind scrambling for words. “I... I just... I love cooking,” I stammer. “I—I taught myself.” The chef stares at me a moment longer, his expression unreadable. Then, with a curt nod, he turns on his heel. “Take the food out,” he orders the other servants before heading for the door. I stand frozen, my mind racing. Is that it? He didn’t praise it... or insult it. Was the soup good or bad? Suddenly, I start to imagine the worst — the Alpha King sitting at his grand dining table, and taking a spoonful of my soup expecting his usual delicious soup only fo

  • Rejected By My Mate. Claimed By His Disabled Brother.   Chapter 17.

Julian's POV. (A few minutes prior to kira trying to escape) I sit at my desk, staring blankly at the pile of paperwork scattered across the surface. My mind isn’t on reports or pack affairs I'm in charge of— it’s stuck on Kira. The way she looked when she stormed out of Damian’s room said it all. Her face was flushed, her eyes red-rimmed with unshed tears, and her maid's uniform was wrinkled like she'd been clenching her fists just to hold herself together. I don’t know what happened in that room, but whatever it was, it couldn’t have been good — especially for Kira. After all, Damian had been in there with Katie, his long-time girlfriend. The thought leaves a bitter taste in my mouth I scoff under my breath and lean back in my chair, rubbing a hand down my face and remind myself that she’s not my problem. She's Damian’s mate — that alone should be reason enough for me to forget her. But I can’t. I keep seeing her face. That defeated look in her eyes. Something about her l

Kira's POV "Are you sure he’s asking for me?" I ask, my voice barely above a whisper. The head chef doesn’t slow his stride. "Yes," he grunts. "Said he wanted to see the one who made the mushroom soup." My stomach twists. "Did... did he say why?" He shoots me a sharp look over his shoulder. "If Alpha Magnus explained himself every time he called for someone, we'd all sleep easier." That doesn’t help my nerves. My heart pounds wildly as I follow him down the narrow hallway with my fingers clenched to the edge of my uniform... He hated it and is definitely furious, I think. By the time we reach the dining room doors, my breath is shallow and the head chef pauses, giving me a hard look. "Whatever happens in there," he mutters, "keep your head down and your mouth shut no matter what you are told." Before I can respond, he pushes the door open. Alpha Magnus sits at the head of the grand dining table, his cold unreadable sharp gaze immediately locking onto mine the moment

Julian's POV. "And why did she run out like that?" Father’s voice rumbles through the dining room with his brows knitted in confusion as we all watch Kira run out of the room after Damian's surprise announcement. I glance at Damian, already bracing for his usual slick answer which he doesn’t disappoint. "Probably overwhelmed," Damian says with a casual shrug, his voice far too smooth. "From the praise of the soup she cooked us." What a liar, I'm disgusted to be related to him by blood and this is all thanks to his mother who only taught him to lie and that status is everything and that anyone lower than him is beneath him and can be treated however he wanted. I scoff under my breath, loud enough for them to hear. Father’s sharp gaze swings toward me. "Did your brother say something funny, Julian?" I meet his eyes, feeling that old familiar tension tightening my chest. "Yeah he did… Ask him if Katie is really his mate." Father shoots his a questioning look and Damian’s

Kira’s POV Damian almost said the words I’ve been dying to hear, but then Luna Cassandra swooped in like the devil wrapped in designer silk, grabbing him before he could finish reciting his rejection vows. Just like always—rescuing her precious boy from anything that doesn’t fit her perfect little plan. Including me. My fists are still clenched. That’s how close I was. One more minute and maybe… I’d finally be free from this useless bond…But no. She showed up. Saved him. And ruined everything. Now I’m still here pretend girlfriend to Julian. And honestly? It’s getting complicated fast. I shove my hair away from my face, not bothering to hide my frustration as Julian sits across from me in another part of the garden where we just had breakfast—calm as ever, sipping his tea like he didn't just kiss me or like Damian didn't almost reject me. “You saw it, right?” I ask, breaking the silence before it settles in too deep. He nods, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. “Yea

Damian's POV. I hate mornings now, and this is because the sun shines too brightly, the birds sing too loudly and the world feels too calm for the chaos gnawing inside my chest. I step onto the balcony, hoping the fresh air might clear my head, but what I see makes it worse. Julian and Kiara, seated at a small round table in the garden, kissing each for the second time in my presence like they fated to each other. The unclaimed bond inside me snaps again, like a fraying wire finally giving way. My wolf claws at me from within, howling in agony. I grip the railing until I flatten it. Why does everything seem to be falling apart in my life? I storm back into my room, slamming the balcony doors behind me. The air feels too thick, my chest too tight. I pace, trying to control the storm building inside. Maybe I should have rejected Kira the first time I found out we were mates in that forest because now I don’t know what’s worse—the fact that I warned her to stay away from

Julian's POV (Meanwhile back at the palace) “Red,” I call, drumming my fingers impatiently against the armrest of my wheelchair. “It’s been hours. What are you doing in there—building a second bathroom?” “Just give me another minute!” she shouts back, voice slightly muffled. “That's what you said two hours ago!” I groan, dragging a hand down my face as I glance down at the situation in my sweatpants. Still there. Unbothered. And damn throbbing. I try to think of anything—Beta George picking his toenails, the old councilwoman with a mustache, even that one warrior who smelled like boiled cabbage. Nothing helps. My body doesn't give a damn about ugly thoughts when it has Kira, walking in sexy lingerie burned into its memory. “Shit,” I mutter under my breath as I help myself into bed. I tip my head back against the pillow and close my eyes. *** When I open them again, light is pouring through the slightly open curtains. The sun’s up. Birds are chirping like annoying li

Damian's POV. “A strip club, Damian? Are you out of your mind?” My mother’s voice is sharp as a whip the second I slide into her car. I slam the door shut and glare straight ahead. “It wasn’t what it looked like.” “Oh, let me guess, you accidentally found yourself here and ended up being frozen by a stripper witch in the VIP section?” she snaps, whipping her seatbelt on. “How very noble of our soon-to-be crowned Alpha.” Behind us, one of the palace guards quietly starts my car to follow. I can barely meet mother's eyes. Not because I feel ashamed—though maybe I should—but because my blood is boiling too hot to think straight. “She spelled me!” I shout. “and then robbed me, so I couldn't pay!” My mother throws me a sideways glare as the driver pulls us out of the shady club district and back toward the palace. “And what the hell were you doing there in the first place? Your mating ceremony is in four days. Four days, Damian. You’re going to be Alpha. You can’t afford a sc

Damian's POV What the hell just happened? I storm down the palace hallway, my jaw clenched so tight I can feel a headache brewing because my own crippled brother had the nerve to claim my mate as his girlfriend and slam a door in my face. And Kira? Don’t even get me started. She kissed him. Right in front of me like I don't matter. Wearing that…I try to shake the image from my head. Was today supposed to be a punishment to teach me a lesson? Well, congratulations, to them. Lesson half learned. I hop into my car without waiting for my guards. I don’t want witnesses to my mood tonight. Not when I’m about to dive into the kind of chaos the Crown would rather pretend doesn’t exist. Crimson Crown’s bad side is a whole other world after dark. Neon lights blink like they’re short-circuiting on sin. Packmates stumble down the sidewalks with too much drink and not enough clothing. It stinks of smoke, and cheap perfume. I park outside the shadiest strip club I can find and

Julian's POV My plan is working—Damian is here, just like I knew he would be, demanding to see Kira.... I hope he is here to reject her after the show we put out today... I tilt my head, rage simmering just beneath the surface, though a wicked satisfaction curls in my chest. "If I were you, I’d reject her already so we can both move on. Honestly, your jealousy is getting pathetic." Damian’s jaw tightens, lips pressed into a thin line. "How am I the one being pathetic and jealous when all I'm trying to do is stop you from screwing my mate? Big brother, just drop the act. I see through all the fake affection you and Kira are putting on." I let out a cold and sharp laugh. "Then reject her already!" I snap, moving closer. "Because from where I sit, you don’t even deserve to look at her." I say and that’s when I hear it… Soft, bare footsteps against the wood floor behind me. “Oh, I will _” and Damian's whole face shifts as he suddenly become mute. His breath stuttering. I fro

Kira's POV. The moment we step into the elevator, I slip off my heels with a groan of relief because my feet are killing me. Those shoes were definitely not made for beginners... Thank the goddess I managed to survive the night without falling flat on my face and embarrass myself in the process... We ride up in silence, and when we reach Julian’s room, it’s quiet and dimly lit, casting a soft glow that feels strangely calming after the day I just had. Julian then locks the door behind us, before he speaks up with a small smirk. “So… about that trim you promised me, are you still up for it?” I turn to face him, arms crossed with a teasing grin. “Finally. I was starting to think you weren't going to allow me cut it for you.” He laughs. “What can I say? I like to keep you on your toes.” “Well, mission accomplished. Now, where’s your grooming kit?” I ask and Julian nods toward a dark wooden cabinet in one of the corners of the room. “First drawer.” I walk over, open it,

Kira's POV. The dining room feels lighter now that Damian and Katie are gone but Julian doesn’t stop tormenting his step mom because she also knows who is really fated to her son... Julian's hand grazes mine again, slower and intentional this time, before he leans in, brushing a stray hair away from my face. “You okay?” he murmurs, his voice low and intimate only for me to hear. I nod, but in all honesty this was the most intimidating dinner I have ever been invited to. “Its been a long day and you’re allowed to be tired if you are,” he adds, just for my ears and I feel Luna Cassandra’s stare slice across the table like a blade. Her wine glass is still poised, but her lips are pressed tight. Julian sees it too and he leans back, unbothered, wearing that wicked smirk that only deepens her scowl. “Some people wear masks so long, they forget what their real face looks like,” he says under his breath. “But not you. I see you.” I blink, surprised by the brutal honesty in

Damian's POV. I can still feel the sting of embarrassment in front of everyone at the table… I can't believe father took Kira's side over mine and now Julian smirks like he is being renamed Alpha heir while Kira hasn’t looked my way since I picked up that damn fork after I tried to humiliate. I grip it tight in my hand now, the prongs digging into the meat like it’s the only thing stopping me from snapping. “Such tension,” Father says, swirling his wine like we’re at some royal gala and not a warzone. “But I suppose that’s what young love does to a table.” Julian doesn’t even pretend to hide his grin. “Couldn’t agree more.” He turns to Kira, brushing something off her cheek. “You had a little something on your face,” he murmurs, just loud enough for all of us to hear. “Can’t let perfection go unnoticed.” Kira lets out a soft shy but genuine laugh… I clench my jaw because now she is just enjoying tormenting me even though I forbade her to be with anyone else even though I
