Chapter 80: Dead maid

Isabella gulped down the saliva in her throat nervously. The corner of her eyes was wet with tears because of Rayne gripped around her neck.

“I didn't... do anything." Isabella forced the words out of her mouth as she felt her palms become sweaty.

Rayne pushed Isabella away, releasing her neck. She collided with the floor and coughed out simultaneously, holding her neck.

Rayne took his cloak and draped it over his shoulder. He turned to face Isabella, who was still on the wooden floor.

“Let's find out if she is really a thief. We should pay the maid in the dungeon a meeting." Rayne said aloud, taking Isabella by surprise.

Isabella knew she needed to improve her acting skills. She could see Rayne was starting to suspect her.

“Rayne," Isabella said softly as she rose from the floor. She walked towards Rayne but she made sure not to touch him.

“Rayne. You almost hurt me." Isabella whined softly as she rubbed her neck with her hand.

Rayne didn't spare Isabella a glance as he walked away
