I watched over the next few weeks as Margot fell in love with him. His visits to the pack had become so frequent that he now had a pallet permanently set up for him in David's home. He seemed extremely smitten with Margot, and she seemed just as taken by him that I enjoyed watching them.

I enjoyed watching his eyes lighting up whenever she was near. Their connection was undeniable, and it was heartwarming to witness the love that had flourished between them.

But even in the midst of this happiness, I couldn't help but wonder about his past. There were hints of a mysterious history, a life beyond our pack that he had left behind. He spoke little of it, and it piqued my curiosity.

One evening, under the silver glow of the moon, I approached him, wanting to know more about his story. "Mind if I join you for a moment?" I asked, settling down beside him by the crackling fire.

He smiled warmly, gesturing for me to sit. "Of course, I'd be glad to chat."

"I can see how much you care for Margo

The events of the day replayed in my mind like a movie, each scene overlapping with the next. The conversation with Aiden had don nothing to help, and now the ache in my heart for Brad was overwhelming, and the decision to return to my former pack weighed heavily on my soul. With a heavy sigh, I closed my eyes, hoping for a peaceful slumber to bring some clarity to my thoughts. As sleep finally embraced me, I found myself wandering through the misty corridors of my dream.I stood at the edge of a dense forest

  • Rejected But Unbroken :Fated For The Cruel Alpha   What Has Happened To My Former Pack?

The next day, my journey began earlier than the cock’s crow. There was no reason for me to remain in the pack and wait anymore, I had packed up all of my things for the trip, mostly weapons since I did not know how the reception at the pack would be, and I was ready. I had decided not to make a big thing out of it, forgoing the large announcement I usually would have made for their sakes and mine. I strongly believed that being around all of them would make leaving so much harder for me. Besides, goodbyes were pretty hard for me. Without waiting for anything else, I hoisted my things over my shoulder and began to hike all the way to my former pack. I remembered the path I had taken to arrive where I had, and I was familiar with all of the places. As I passed the pack where I had been attacked with the rest of the outcasts, I carefully skirted around the pack boundaries, avoiding them. It was almost like I was returning to where I was that day, because I could imagine Luke, David, l

The stranger's intense gaze locked onto mine, and their knife was pointed directly at me. Fear surged through my veins, but I tried to remain composed."Who are you?" I asked, my voice trembling slightly. The person didn't respond, but their eyes bore into mine with hostility. I could sense the aggression emanating from them, and I knew that I had stumbled into a dangerous situation. Before I could react, another figure emerged from the shadows, their face partially obscured by a hood. The newcomer's presence was unsettling, and I felt a chill run down my spine."Stay back," the hooded figure warned, their voice low and menacing. "This is not a place for strangers.""I mean no harm," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "I'm just passing through. I used to be part of this pack."The stranger with the knife eyed me suspiciously. "Used to be? You're not welcome here anymore."The tension in the air was palpable, and I knew I had to tread carefully. "I know I left, but I need closure.

The decision was made. I had found the closure I sought, and now it was time to return to my own pack, armed with the newfound strength I had discovered within myself. As the sun set, casting a warm glow over the pack's territory, I sat in my temporary lodgings, making plans for the journey ahead.Tomorrow, I would head back to my own pack, to my friend Lee who had supported me through thick and thin. I knew he would be waiting with open arms, ready to hear about my journey. The night was surprisingly peaceful, filled with a sense of anticipation for what the next day would bring. As I lay in the room where I once slept, memories of the past danced through my mind like fireflies in the darkness. The following morning, I woke up with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. Today was the day I would leave this pack and return to my own. But before I could embark on that journey, there was one final conversation I needed to have.I sought out Brad, finding him by a quiet stream that had

The next morning, a loud pounding at my door woke me up, and I hurried over to open it, wondering who it was. I had slept in, so the first rays of sunlight were flooding into the room, but I wasn't expecting visitors. I was shocked to find that at my door stood Kimora and a very flustered Margot, who looked sheepish, like she had done something wrong. Crossing my arms over my chest and walking away from the pair, I made my way to the sitting room and sat on one of the stools. “This had better be good, waking me up at this time of day.”“Oh, it's good alright,” sneered Kimora, irritation barely concealed. Looking at Margot, I watched as she held a finger to her lips in a bid to ask me to keep quiet. Catching her in the corner of her eyes, Kimora shot her with a leveling look, and poor Margot looked away from me and staed instead at her palms folded into her laps instead.“So when were you going to tell me that this douchebag was married?” asked Kimora, frowning. “It wasn't importan

  • Rejected But Unbroken :Fated For The Cruel Alpha   Talking With The Moon Goddess

We set off immediately. It was to be a full moon that night, and I could feel the easy thrum of excitement in my veins. We would be having a shift while on the road. That had to make for a very interesting trip. As heavy, tired feet trudged behind me, I smiled. The forest around us was alive with a symphony of rustling leaves as our pack gathered our belongings, preparing to make our way back to my former pack's territory. The decision to return had not been an easy one, and my resolve had left me quickly, but the moon goddess's persistent messages had left me with an unshakable sense of purpose. Beside me, Kimora's presence was reassuring, her loyalty like an anchor in the storm. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and red, I thought back to that morning. I had called our diverse group of wolves together. Their eyes held a mixture of determination and curiosity, the bond among us growing stronger with each passing day. "Friends," I began, my vo

  • Rejected But Unbroken :Fated For The Cruel Alpha   That's The Spirit

I had already met Brad during my last trip to the pack. He had already seen me, and had even been kinder towards me, out of respect for my new strength, but I had not seen Ethan, and everyone had seemed to be away when I made that trip over. Truthfully, Brad had informed me that the pack was fresh after an attack, so no one would be around, but I had not expected Ethan’s hostility. Yet, on a second thought, the last trip I had made to the pack, I had been alone, so it was more likely inconcspicuous. Today, we were averaging 40 people. Ethan had never been the most understanding person, so any time taken to explain to him that we were here to help his pack would have fallen on deaf ears, and I did not have any of the strength required to engage in a long argument that would still end up with me in brad’s presence once again. Behind me, Kimora looked around, taking in the underwhelming pack. As at the time I had lived in it, it had been truly beautiful, but it seemed as though it had

Upon sighting the large crowd heading over to Brad's, a huge crowd began to gather, people of different ages and sizes coming out of their homes. As they spotted me in the front of the procession, I began to hear murmurs, and I had to bite down on my tongue to keep from saying something I didn't really mean. They had mixed reactions, some seemed to respect the changes I had gone through, with the little kids being of the majority, pointing at my muscles and feeling out, while the older kids seemed to be unsure, tentative with their reactions. Finally at the pack house, I went in along with Ethan, so I could speak to Brad. Upon seeing me, he gave me a nod of respect, dismissing Ethan from his presence. “You came, just like you said you would.” “What can I say?” I laughed, “I am a woman of my word.”Brad's stern expression softened into a small smile. "I appreciate that, especially in times like these."As the door closed behind us, I got straight to the point. "Brad, I'm here becau

The pack had settled into a comfortable routine after the wedding, our days filled with moments of joy, laughter, and the expectation of new beginnings. Feeling the gentle kicks from our unborn child, I marveled at the miracle of life growing within me. Brad's hand rested on my stomach, his eyes filled with awe and love as he felt our baby move. I really appreciate all your efforts thanks. ***** The sun set on the victorious battlefield, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink. Amidst the jubilant pack members and the warriors from the Black Creek pack, Brad and I found a moment of quiet to discuss our future. Erin had joined the celebrations, her eyes reflecting the relief of a battle won and the joy of newfound family bonds. We walked together along the edge of the clearing, the sounds of laughter and celebration fading behind us. Brad looked at me, his eyes filled with a mix of love and determination. "Layla," he said, his voice soft yet steady, "we've been through so much together. I can't imagine my life without you. I want to spend the rest of my days by your side, facing whatever challenges come our way, just like we did today." I smiled, my heart swelling with affection for the man beside me. "Brad,

Amidst the chaos of battle, Erin stood her ground, her eyes locked onto Rame with a mixture of anger and disgust. Brad and I, observing Erin's fierce resolve, exchanged a quick, worried glance. We knew Erin's history with Rame, how he had manipulated her in the past. We couldn't let her face him alone, but we also understood the need for Erin to confront her father. A lot of the battle had been for the pack, but a lot of it had been for Erin's sake too."Brad," I said, my voice low but urgent, "we can't just leave her alone with him. She needs our help, our support. We can't risk her getting manipulated again."I nodded, my eyes never leaving Erin. "I know, Brad. But we can't just rush in without a plan. We need to be strategic about this. If we charge in recklessly, we might inadvertently make things worse for her. We have to trust Erin, trust that she's strong enough to handle him."Brad clenched his fists, frustration evident in his eyes. "I trust Erin, but I don't trust him. He's

The air in the pack meeting hall buzzed with excitement as I stood at the front, my eyes scanning the faces of the pack members. The news of the imminent threat from Rame had spread like wildfire, and now, the entire pack was gathered to discuss our plans for the upcoming battle. Among the crowd, there was a palpable sense of fear, mixed with a touch of anxiety. The arrival of reinforcements from the Black Creek pack was eagerly awaited, not just by my pack members, but by me too. I would never admit it to anyone else, but I was terrified of what was going on. As the pack settled, Brad stood by my side, his presence a source of strength. In the last few days, I had found that I needed it a lot more, because the horror of lur wntkre situationnovertook me at the most random times. I couldn't afford for that to happen right now. Right now, I needed to convey a sense of calm and confidence to inspire our pack members. I took a deep breath, my voice projecting across the room."Thank you

The journey back to our pack was a quiet one. Brad and I walked side by side, lost in our thoughts. The encounter with Rame had shaken us to our cores. As we trudged through the dense forest, I couldn't help but glance at Brad, trying to decipher the storm of emotions that must be raging within him. Finally, unable to contain my curiosity, I broke the silence."Brad, how are you feeling?" I asked, my voice gentle. "Seeing Rame, the one who took your father away from you... it must have been incredibly difficult. I know you never speak about your father. In fact, no one in the pack does. They all act like he is some taboo topic, and hearing Rame just-”He sighed, his shoulders tense. "It's... complicated, Layla," he replied, his voice heavy with the weight of his emotions. "I never thought I'd see him again after that night. I had buried the memories deep inside, trying to move on. But now, facing him, it's like reopening an old wound. "You can call me someone who's not afraid of delusional villains," I retorted, my voice firm, refusing to back down in the face of Rame's anger. "Your reign of darkness ends here, Rame. We won't let you destroy our pack."Rame's eyes blazed with fury, his lips curling into a snarl. "You think your bravado will save you? I've faced stronger opponents than you, and they all fell before my power. There are many things that I can do that your small brains cannot even begin to fathom. Do you really feed into the belief that your confidence will help you?"I exchanged a shared glance with Brad, our shared annoyance fueling our speech. "Rame, your power may be formidable, but it's nothing compared to the strength of all the love that there is in this pack. Erin may be an exception, but in this pack, we protect our own," Brad said, his voice steady. "Our pack stands together, and that makes us stronger than you can ever comprehend. "Layla," Brad's voice trembled with emotion as he continued, his eyes fixed on mine, "Rame was once one of the most respected wizards in our pack. His fall from grace was a tragedy that was caused by his own ambition. He was a friend to my father, a mentor even. But power corrupted him, turned him into a monster."I took a hold of Brad's hand, offering him silent support as he gathered the strength to continue. "Rame's desire for power took over him," he said, his jaw set in determination. "He killed my father, believing it would grant him the Alpha position. But our pack members, out of loyalty, stood against him. We banished him, hoping he'd never return."A chilling laughter echoed through the ruins, and Rame emerged from the shadows, his eyes glowing with malevolence. "Oh, what a touching tale," he sneered, his voice dripping with mockery. "But you see, I've embraced the darkness. I've become more powerful than you can imagine. Your loyalty and love won't save you this time."I ti

The pack house welcomed us with its bright colors, and I felt a warmth inside that I hadn't felt before. Brad and I settled into our favorite spot in the living room, a comfortable couch where we often discussed pack matters and important decisions, long before he had lost his memory. In the distance, the fire in the fireplace burning bright. Seated close to each other, we held on to each other for long minutes at end, looking at each other like it was the first time we had seen each other in a long time. We were locked in lazy conversation and trying to figure out who could have done this in the first place, and we had tried out many different names, but one kept on coming back, over and over:Erin"I know she has a crush on me," Brad said, his brow furrowed in contemplation. "But could it be possible that her feelings took a dark turn? Maybe she couldn't handle the fact that I didn't reciprocate her feelings. Though, that would have been very counterintuitive."I nodded, understandi

I closed my eyes, allowing the past to wash over me, taking me back to that fateful day in the heart of the forest. Many years ago, when I was still young and finding my way as a leader, I used to roam the woods surrounding our pack territory with the forest, with its ancient trees and whispered secrets, was a place where I found solace, and the place where I enjoyed training the most. On that particular day, the sun had gone down early.I was lost in thought, my mind occupied with the responsibilities of being an Alpha.
