EVELYN POV

Wait, what?

My mind was spinning as I tried to understand what he was saying. Confusion hit me hard, and it took a moment for the shocking truth to sink in.

The guards opened the back door of the car with cold expressions while Alpha John hurried into the front seat.

“No! This can't be happening!” I gasped as panic took over. I shook my head vigorously, fear flooding through me.

“No! You can’t do this!” I shouted, struggling against the guards who held me tightly. I thrashed around, but each attempt to break free only made them hold on more firmly.

No! There's no way he was going to force me into giving my kidney out to Diane!

"Please, just leave me alone! You can't do this to me!" I cried, my voice shaking and tears streaming down my face. I felt desperate as I struggled against the guards' strong grip. I managed to break free with one arm, but their other hand held my other arm tightly.

The guards glanced at each other, showing no sign of sympathy.

“No! Please! I won't let you take my kidney! I won't!” I begged as they shoved me toward the back of the car. Panic rose in my throat, and everything felt like it was spinning.

“What’s happening back there? We don’t have much time left!” Alpha John shouted from the front seat and I could see how much he cared for Diane while disregarding how I felt. I don’t even think he saw me as human.

“Alpha stop this! I’m not just a spare part you can give away!” My pleas echoed, but John’s back was turned, focused on the road.

Have I been living with a monster for two years? The answer was quite obvious.

The guards tightened their grip, their fingers digging painfully into my wrists. I felt waves of pain and my vision started to blur as dizziness hit me. The car sped like a blur, and it felt like I was being pulled into chaos.

Every bump in the road jolted me, making me feel even more helpless. I was being dragged into a situation I didn’t choose.

As soon as we skidded to a stop at the hospital, the guards pulled me from the car like I was a useless rag doll.

They shoved me sideways, holding on tightly as they rushed me through the entrance, ignoring my struggle to keep up.

I was not wearing any shoes now, my face was an eyesore, my clothes were dirty and I knew I stank badly.

I felt exposed and dizzy, my throat parched and craving even a drop of water.

Would they at least let me put on some shoes before dragging me deeper into this nightmare?

“Let me go!” I screamed, my voice echoing in the space, desperation pushing me to speak out. I didn’t care about the consequences anymore; I just needed to be heard.

But I was brutally ignored. Everyone gave way for us and bowed for Alpha John as we passed without listening to me.

They opened a door and the guards pushed me into the room. A female nurse in white scrubs stood by a bed, her eyes widening in urgency when she saw us. She rushed forward with open arms, urging us inside.

“Take her to the bed and tie her up!” Alpha John shouted from the doorway.

Before I could protest, the guards grabbed my arms, their grips like iron shackles, and pushed me toward the bed.

My heart pounded with confusion and fear. I stumbled, my legs weak, but they didn’t let go. They forced me onto the bed while I struggled to escape.

“Wait! You don’t have to do this! My life would be at risk here” I cried out but my protests echoed in the empty room, swallowed by the silence.

Without a word, they grabbed a rope and started tying one of my wrists to the bed. The fabric dug into my skin, and I winced, tears welling in my eyes.

“John, please,” I begged, my voice breaking as I struggled against the rope. I locked gaze with him, searching for any sign of compassion in his hard expression.

But he stayed unmoved, his jaw clenched and his eyes darkened. The door behind him felt like a barrier I couldn’t cross.

“Is she out of her mind? Why is she acting like this?” I heard the nurse whisper sharply, her voice sounding like an irritated sneer.

I couldn’t care less about what she thought of me. I struggled against the rope holding me to the bed. Meanwhile, Alpha John and his guards were about to leave.

Gathering all my courage, I took a deep breath, my lungs aching, and found the strength to say, “Wait! Alpha John, please—just look into my eyes and explain what's happening!"

He paused, turned to gaze at me with a disgusted frown, then signaled for his bodyguard and the nurse to leave. The nurse shot me an awkward glance, as if she thought I was truly losing it.

"What do you want me to explain? Make it quick; Diane is waiting for me..." His tone was cold and dismissive.

"Diane, Diane, Diane!!!" I trembled with rage, my eyelids fluttering, threatening to close up. I had to shake the unconscious off. I pressed my forehead against the cold metal frame of the bed, desperate to stay focused. I needed to see his face clearly—needed to find even a hint of emotion buried beneath his hard exterior.

“That's all I ever hear! But I'm your Luna—how could you do this to me? What have I done to deserve this punishment from you, Alpha John? Please, tell me where I went wrong and I will correct it okay?!” I cried as tears streamed down my cheeks.

"You wanna know? When I found out that you are as barren as hell," he spat, his words slicing through the air like a knife.

My eyes widened in shock, disbelief flooding through me. What was he talking about? Barren? What….

I felt my heart drop as low as it could get as he stepped closer, his hands shoved deep into his pockets.

"You heard me?" he continued with a cold voice. "No matter how many times you spread your legs for me, it was all a waste. The only reason I kept you around for this long was to bear my child. But you can’t even do that."

I had never imagined he viewed me this way.

"You're so selfish, Evelyn. Just one hit with Diane, and she’s pregnant."

Tears blurred my vision and my jaw quivered. My breathing was heavy and strained.

When I finally found my voice, I looked up to him again. "You still cheated, John! How dare you twist this around and defend yourself like that! I never imagined you could think of me this way. It’s not my fault I couldn’t give you a child!" I hastily wiped my tears with my free hand, feeling the cold metal of the chains binding me. "That wretched Diane…”

*SLAP*

In an instant, he struck me across my right cheek, leaving my body frozen in shock.

I instinctively placed my hands where he had hit me, my face turning away but he gripped my jaw with a force that made me wince in pain to look at me.

His piercing gaze locked onto mine, and I trembled uncontrollably.

"Alpha..."

"As long as I give you a reason to live, you dare not insult my Diane again! How dare you?" With that, he flung my face toward the bed, my face hitting the white sheets.

"You’re worthless, Evelyn. Tell me, in this world, what real man would stay with a barren woman?!"

With trembling hands, I wiped away the tears streaming down my face. I couldn’t even get on my knees to plead, my body weak from days without food.

"It's all your fault and you would have to face the consequences! Ensure you stay right here and wait for the doctors to take over!" His voice thundered as he turned to leave. I was frozen, unable to scream his name, watching him walk away, a hollow ache swelling in my chest.

A few seconds later, the door swung open and the female nurse rushed in with a trolley in tow, and a male doctor right behind her.

She placed her hands on my forehead but removed it immediately. "Oh my goddess! You're burning up, and your face is ghostly pale! Have you eaten anything at all?"

The doctor brought out the stethoscope, draping it around his neck before pressing the chest piece against my skin.

He shook his head. "Her heartbeat is normal.”

What?! The word screamed in my mind as a wave of disbelief washed over me. A few nurses hurried in as they forcefully positioned me properly on the bed.

I drew in a sharp breath as I could feel my heart beating loudly within me. How is it not possible for him to detect that?

"Her body still seems strong enough for the operation, which is rare for an omega" He paused and continued.

"And also she'll be needing a full check-up after the first stage because I’m sensing something isn’t right. If Alpha John finds out we’re not finished with the first stage, he’ll kill us, so let's begin"

Mimi didn’t bother answering her question. She just watched her pick up a call, voice sharp and hurried, before she left the room in a rush. The silence pressed in, and Mimi’s thoughts scattered until she found herself at the hospital, sitting stiffly by her son’s bedside, her heart pounding with every beep of the monitor. The doctor’s words still echoed in her ears, “He’s slowly improving in his health.”Relief washed through her chest, her lips breaking into a faint smile. She reached for his small hand, her fingers trembling as they wrapped around his. Lowering her head, she pressed a soft kiss on his knuckles, whispering against his skin like a prayer she was afraid to say out loud. “I love you, darling,” she whispered, careful not to disturb his sleep. Her voice barely brushed the quiet, softer than the hum of the machines around him.Her gaze lingered on his face, and her chest tightened. Every curve, every line—it was Solomon staring back at her. The same jaw, the same lashes,

Mimi’s chest thudded so hard she thought her heart might leap out. No matter how much she shook her head, she couldn’t push away his words, the way he’d confessed still clung to her like smoke, heavy and impossible to escape. She pressed her lips together, trying to will it all away, but his voice kept echoing.“Mimi!”She jolted, shoulders snapping up, and spun toward the doorway. Rain stood there, arms folded tight across her chest, head shaking with clear disappointment.Mimi’s throat went dry. “H-how long have you been standing there?” she asked, her voice trembling as Rain stepped into the room and crossed to the bed, sitting down with a heavy sigh.“As long as I’ve been watching you shake your head and act strange,” Rain said, tilting her head as her eyes searched Mimi’s face. “What’s the problem?”Mimi looked away, chewing on her lip. Rain wasn’t just anyone. Ever since Evelyn left to search for Bea, the two of them had grown close. Rain had that easy kind of charm like she cou

Of course Bea had to slip out, leaving the two of them alone. Mimi didn’t regret a single word she had thrown—if anything, the silence only hardened her resolve. She rolled her eyes and turned to leave, but before she could take a step, Solomon moved, planting himself right in front of her.She shifted to the side, ready to slip past him, but he mirrored her step, blocking her again. She tried the other way—same thing. He wasn’t letting her through.“I’m… I’m quitting working with John,” he said suddenly, his voice low and unsteady.Mimi froze. That alone stopped her from shoving him aside, because the thought of John had been burning at the back of her mind.A bitter scoff slipped from her lips as she crossed her arms tight against her chest. Her eyes locked on his, sharp and unforgiving.“So?” she shot back, her tone laced with venom. “Is that supposed to make me feel better?”She asked the question, and he slowly shook his head.“You won’t have to bother seeing me around this place

Mimi’s hands froze in the soapy water, a plate slipping back into the sink with a dull splash. Her thoughts tangled, pulling her under. Why had Evelyn suddenly changed like this? She used to be the only one who stood firm, the one who almost got him fired after what he did, the one who swore Mimi would never have to face him again. Mimi had believed her, etched those words into her mind as truth. But now Evelyn was softening, changing her tune, asking her to talk to him?Mimi’s jaw clenched. Heat pricked her chest as she grabbed the sponge and scrubbed harder, suds flying, the squeak of porcelain sharp in the quiet kitchen. She didn’t want to remember that day. The weight of it pressed against her ribs, the most crushing memory she carried. Her breath left in a sharp hiss. “How the hell did that bastard get into her head?” she muttered, her voice low and raw. She scrubbed faster, her hands red from the hot water. “Did he lie to her? Twist her? Manipulate her like the snake he is?”A s

EVEYLNI didn’t know why, but the teacher’s words left a knot in my stomach. There was no way that could be true. How was that even possible?“Babe!” John’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts, and I jolted upright in the passenger seat. He was beside me in the car, phone in hand, eyes wide.“Do you see the news? They—” He shoved the screen closer to me. “They exposed Giovanni. Just like that.”“Yeah, I saw it,” I said flatly. He blinked at me, clearly expecting a different reaction. His gaze searched mine, confusion written all over his face. I let out a long sigh and looked away, pressing my palms against my knees.“What’s wrong?” he asked softly. “Is it… what the teacher said about that girl?”“Isn’t it weird?” I whispered, dragging a hand through my hair. “Harry swears he sees her, but the teacher says she doesn’t exist. How is that possible? What if… what if he’s hallucinating or something?”I leaned back against the seat, closing my eyes for a moment as the weight of it all pres

EVELYN“What do you think triggered Bea’s memory?” John asked as we stepped into the school, our son and daughter holding each of our hands before we let them go.The hallway was buzzing, lockers slamming shut, sneakers squeaking on the tiles, laughter and chatter bouncing off the walls. Students brushed past us, weaving to their classes, barely noticing we didn’t belong here. We weren’t here for them. We were here for Olena, hoping foolishly, to get a word with her.I wasn’t even sure if coming here was the right thing. My son wouldn’t stop talking about her all morning, though—her beauty this, her fairy-like face that. Even on the drive, he couldn’t shut up about her. It made me uneasy, like something was slipping out of my control.“Maybe going back to Texas,” I said, shrugging, trying to keep my voice steady. “Or maybe doing the thing she loves most.”John tilted his head, eyes narrowing as if he was piecing something together. “That’s a good thought,” he murmured, his hand tappin
