Chapter 40: Tom Hulce discovers Ace working.

Demi Moore was startled as she looked at Ace, then after a while, she reached out and took his hand, trembling as she wrote, "Where have you been? Why weren't you home? Why did you come back so late? Don't you know I would worry, be anxious?"

After finishing writing, she stared at him, fear still in her eyes.

Ace was slightly taken aback but quickly smiled, saying, "I went outside to soak up the sun; look at me." He pointed to his face. "I've gotten much darker, just like Demi said. Isn't that beautiful? Besides, I know the way back home; I won't get lost."

Closing his eyes, he rested his chin on her head and said, "I will remember it clearly, Demi. Wherever Demi is, that is my home. I can forget everything, but I will never forget the way back home because I keep it here..." He pointed to his chest, speaking softly, his arms holding her tighter. How could he forget this little girl?
