Family Dinner

There had multiple times when she wanted to escape from the world and do something new, which wouldn't remind her of the past.

A bittersweet, nightmare, where she lived her happiest moment, and also her worst period.

A moment when she learned how to love someone, with respect, honesty, loyalty, and faithfulness. Someone who dearly, made her obsessed with the love. When the person who she will accept, will only belong to her

And no matter where she is, where she will be, she knows her heart can never change the rules. Her man has to be hers. Only her.

Kiara's eyes with admiration were watching the new room where she just shifted. The old room of Kiara which was way too girly and somehow it hurt her eyes. So she demanded a room only for her in this huge building.

Moreover, she chose the interior design so that it matches her taste.

Overall, thanks to the body, she was in, supporting her to get the familiar feelings to adapt to the new place.

Her back touched the soft bed after she changed into something comfortable. Her wardrobe was full of unwanted clothes, that she would definitely not be going to wear in the future.

However, two knocks on her door caught her attention.

“ Kiara! It's Brother! Everyone is waiting for you to have dinner! Come out!"

Hearing Karl's voice, she got up, wrapping the shawls around her neck. This was winter, unfortunately, she hated it. It shrunk her heart full of sad memories that she didn't want to remember and move on.

” What is for dinner tonight?" She asked opening the door. A warm smile shone in her eyes. She loved the family and the warmth of them

” Traditional chicken soup with beet juice. Your favorite." Karl said walking before her and putting the jacket on her shoulder.

“ You should buy something if you don't like your previous winter collection!" Karl said worrying about her dress.

“ Let's go shopping tomorrow, then."

“ With Pleasure. It's been years, I want out with the family!"

Kiara's lips curled up, smiling. Karl could become a perfect Alpha for someone.

” Brother!"

“ Hmm?" He turned towards her. It wasn't common to see Kiara calling him so closely.

” Are you planning to accept multiple mates or one?"

Although, she was aware of her stupid questions since it was normal here to have multiple wives. But she wished that her family at least wouldn't do it.

She hadn't seen anyone who was her father's, second mate, or mistress. So she thought, it would be best. After all, Her heart hated to see this.

Karl's sudden pause for her questions, made Kiara's heart guess the answer. However, Her eyebrows raised when he answered.

“ I believe in the right person more than multiple people. If I can find her, I will think about what I should do then!"

“ Oh! That's great." She smiled a little. Walking past him.

“ Don't worry. I know what you are thinking. If someone loves me, I will do the same. I am not interested in multiple mates as well. It never gives me happiness whenever I think!"

A wide smile illuminated her face when he responded. Wrapping her arm around his, she giggled.

“ You know when you will devote yourself to one person. You will feel the love beautiful. When you will be in love with two people, you won't find a balance. There will be jealousy and hatred towards the people you choose as your mate. Sometimes it can be a devastating situation. I hate this!"

Although, she said it to put some sense into his brain about having one mate, Karl felt pity and heartbroken for his sister.

He wasn't there when she got married to the Clan leader. But he knew how crazily she behaved to be with Alpha. Not only that, she wanted to kill herself multiple times to be with him.

Right now, she might be exhausted from this fake love, she was facing. That was why she was acting weird.

“ Don't worry. I want to find my true love as well."

He pinched her nose and almost headed to the stairs until their path had been blocked by someone.

” What are you doing here? Kiara!"

Kiara's eyes swept up to the person who was looking at her with disappointment. Her one eyebrow raised as she didn't like the tone that the stranger used.

“You're supposed not to be here. You should be with your Alpha. Have you forgotten about your mission to -?"

“ Second Mother! I don't think you are using the right tone to talk to my sister!"

Kiara frowned when Karl called her second mother. Most importantly, her mind got stuck into the word, ' Mission'

“ Second Mother? Who is she?" She asked not bothering to look at the woman in front of her. She could be arrogant but she definitely hated when people used cold tones against her without any reason.

“ She is Dad's Beta. You used to be friends with her!"

Now, her attention went on properly. The woman was indeed looking the same age as her. Somehow, a disgust crawled in her skin, wanting to know more, she asked.

“ Did Dad cheat on Dad to marry someone who is the same age as me?"

“ Cheating? That's rude! Kiara!" She growled.

“ Kiara! You asked Dad to marry her as our second mother after knowing that Mom was sick. She used to be your friend!"

Kiara's eyes turned to Karl in disbelief. The old Kiara made her father marry a Beta because of her mom's sickness. How cruel, she could be?

” I am utterly disgusted!" Kiara muttered walking downstairs without saying another word.

“ Hey! You are looking like your brother. Where did you get this Jacket?" Mrs. Norman asked smiling at her so warmly which broke her heart.

” It's. It's brother's. So comfortable!" She said walking to her.

” Sit down. I will bring the soup. Don't be picky this time!" she said turning to leave but pausing when Kiara hugged her from behind.

“ I am sorry, Mom! I wish I could change a little earlier!"

Kiara's words were sincere and full of guilt. Although she wasn't the old one. But she wanted to accept them as her parents until she returned to her world.

She never knew how it felt when someone waiting for you to have dinner at night, she never knew how it was felt when someone wrapped a jacket around your shoulders to warm yourself.

Her first experience of having someone who loved her was almost fifteen years ago. After that, right now, she felt the graceful moment. A family where she could belong as a daughter and a sister.

” What happened to you? My lovely daughter! What are you sorry for?"

Mrs. Norman asked, facing her daughter.

” For everything! And now, I will never do this same mistake. I am not going back to that house, Not going to give you trouble. I will make you proud as your daughter. I swear!"

Mrs. Norman didn't understand what was happening but the corner of her her eyes was glowing with tears. Nodding her head, she hugged her daughter who suddenly changed the way, she always wanted.

“ I know you can do it. My daughter! Mom never got upset with you. And I will support you in everything. Just don't do anything crazy!"

“ I won't. I will be a good daughter. I will be, I promise!"

Everyone behind them smiled wholeheartedly except for her Beta mother who knew something was wrong with Kiara. The Way, Kiara looked at her, was unpleasant. She was her only way to survive and get what she wanted.

And, it would be bad if Kiara started becoming close to her parents.

While having dinner, Today everyone's heart was filled with happiness. Kiara couldn't stop smiling and getting the love from the family in front of her.

“ Here. Have more. I cooked for you only!" Mrs. Norman puts more food on her plate.

“ Mom! I want to. Why are you giving her only?" Karl pouted, holding the plate to his mother.

“ Look at this grown-up ass. She is skinny not strong like you!"

“ Still -"

“ Why isn't anyone asking why Kiara is here? She should be with Alpha! How could she come here all alone?"

Everyone's eyes went to the Beta who was silently having her dinner next to Mr. Norman.

“ Also, Kiara! You said that you hated to be here. What changed your mind?" She said not bothering to show her anger.

“ Second Mother! Mind your language!"

“ Gwen! Watch your tongue!" Mr. Norman growled at her with a death glare.

“ Why? I am telling the truth. She is disappointing and disgracing our name. People may think, we have a spoiled and rebellious daughter!"

Kiara's eyes were still on food, not believing, she used to think of this woman as her friend.

” Gwen! I think you should stop. Enough!" Mrs. Norman spoke calmly. But Kiara's anger accelerated as soon as she heard something.

“ You spoiled her, Sister. She was fine when she was obeying my words. Look wh-"

The Slamming sounds of the spoon made everyone startled. Kiara's red eyes were on the woman who wasn't obeying or listening to anyone's words.

” I think you should zip your mouth, right now. Gwen or whatever! You know what? I have a very simple role. I can hear someone's bullshit if it's against me. But I can be spoiled, a disgraceful, or a dangerous snake who dares to insult the people who I care about. " Her cold stare at Gwen made everyone speechless.

“ And, I heard I told Dad to marry you. I think on that day, I became a disgraceful daughter, a spoiled, rebellious, and nasty daughter when I asked my father to do it. So, please if you don't want to see a more spoiled and nasty daughter like me, you better shut up. Moreover, it's my own decision where I will stay, and where I will not."

Something was strange. The entire family felt when she talked. Her eyes weren't like the usual brown eyes. It was flaming inside. Her voice wasn't the soft and gentle that she used to use even if she was angry with Gwen.

Like, she was an Alpha, who was born to lead and dominate. Her voice was too deep that Gwen felt pressured to talk back.

“ Next time, you should know that They are older than you are. It doesn't change just because I let you marry my father. You get respect once you give it. So, change for good before I become more spoiled and arrogant. I hate seeing people like you!"

Kiara didn't care that she was confronting her father's Beta. After all, she deserved it.

“ Calm down. She is young!" Mrs. Norman spoke pulling her hand.

“ I am sorry. Mother. I shouldn't have done it!" Kiara said guilty.

“ No. It's fine. As long as you are happy!"

“ It's not. It's fcking not alright. You should let me know what I should do not to cross the line. I am sorry that I brought someone to replace you."

Kiara said in a low tone, sobbing.

“ It's fine. It's fine. We are fine. Have dinner okay?"

Kiara nodded with sadness. She hates the Old stupid Kiara.

“ Anyway, Kiara!" Mrs. Norman got her attention.

“ Yes?"

“ She was right about something. How could you stay without your Alpha? You will need him more."

“ For what? I am fine!" She said confusedly.

“ Doesn't your Wolf get its heat in the last week of the month? It will be two days later!"

“ Heat?"

The Alpha Kiara didn't have any idea how Omegas feel when their Wolves go through heat. Since she was Alpha, she had her cold bath all day long and stayed inside her room to avoid any kind of chaos. However, An Omega with a mate, she wasn't aware much. So she shrugged.

” I would be fine. I was fine for twenty-five years being single. It doesn't matter!"

Mrs. Norman tilted her head. She didn't understand what her daughter said. But she didn't think about it more. After all, she wants her daughter to be happy.
