Chapter 2

Xia hummed as she walked alone in an empty street. Each time she took a step forward, a sluggish step could be heard in her back, but when she turned around faster than before she carelessly thought it was nothing in the beginning, and she didn’t get to see anything once again. An irritable light flashes past Xia phoenix eyes before it quickly disappears in a blink of an eye. She turned around once again and took a couple steps forward, and then sluggish steps can be heard once again in her back. But this time, Xia didn’t turn her head like before but instead fastened up her pace, before hiding herself calmly in a dark corner no one can see and no one can ever dare to use it for hiding, but she thought wrong.

The sluggish step that followed her from beginning to killing a zombie to the end also fastened a bit when it noticed her pace started to walk quickly and almost out of the owner's sluggish steps sight. Xia slightly hooked up her plump pouty lips, it was very creepy that it would involuntary send shivers down to the spine, she thought,

‘Someone is tailing me? How daring it is. Is it a human or a zombie?’ When this thought flashed into her mind, she raise head and stared at the dark sky with twinkling eyes. The Red Moon who followed after her, every step she took reflected into her honeyed coloured phoenix eyes that shone where she is currently hiding at. It was very pleasant to the eyes but not pleasant at the same time.

‘If it is a human, then he or she is very daring to have the guts to tail me in the night. But if it is a zombie, then this undead person is more daring to have the guts to tail me when I will not even show the slightest bit of mercy’ when Xia said these words, the twinkling eyes became dark and ruthless, her phoenix eyes narrowed dangerously. Her creepy smile turned into an enchanting smile in a matter of seconds. She waited for the person's origin that was tailing her to be revealed and to also find her whereabouts, she was basically playing hide and seek like a little child. Xia didn’t have to wait for too long because she heard a heavy grunts approaching near her. When she heard the low heavy grunts and hurried footsteps that were gradually nearing where she’s at, Xia smiled even more. Xia decided to just show herself up when she felt that the person who was tailing her almost passed where she was hiding. Can’t let this person go ah, this person tailed her with great efforts from beginning until the end she killed so many zombies so it should suffer the consequences given to her or him right? She hummed righteously at herself after she asked her own self jokingly.

When Xia finally saw what it was that was tailing her, her already dark and honeyed coloured phoenix eyes past a ruthless glint. A zombie mankind? It is a guy? She softly let out a laugh and held the dagger she found earlier in the dark alley tightly, positioning herself to a more comfortable position before launching an attack, but before the dagger landed straight into the zombie head, Xia abruptly stopped. She was stupefied for a second by the sight unfolded in front of her. It’s been years since she wore this long lost expression that portrayed her of being an idiot for a second in front of her enemy, she thought that she won’t wear another expression other than the killing intent in her eyes and full of mischief.

Xia gazes at the zombie who also looks back at her unblinkingly. Xia purposely fluttered her eyelashes then the zombie finally blinks twice, she put her two little hands in her back then proudly straightened her still in developed chest then the zombie also clumsily put his rough hands in his back and awkwardly bends its broad chest as if it was mimicking what every action she made. Xia thought it was funny. As Xia thought of this, she burst out laughing; it was not creepy at all like Xia usual laughter; contrary to what she expected, it was very genuine that Xia widened her phoenix eyes in shock. She laughs genuinely, for the first time, thanks to this silly zombie who was looking at her in a trance.  Xia saw she embarrassed herself in front of the zombie, she just coughs to hide the embarrassment she feels and scratches her ear to lower the temperature rising to its cell.

The zombie didn’t mimic her action this time but just stared at her for a whole minute as if mesmerized, the zombie was truly mesmerized, he was bewitched by the girl's laughter earlier so he couldn’t help but to want to hear more. A very greedy zombie is what Xia has encountered. The Zombie knew that the girl in front of him who was laughing happily like a child was a food but he seems very reluctant to eat it but contrary he feel the urge to protect it and held it in his palm, treasuring it and spoiled her rotten, take her away from the dangerous things that was lurking everywhere in the streets, but he seems to have forgotten something. Xia was an existence, dangerous for all, living mankind or even the undead, if it approached her evil claws, they could say goodbye to their life and bear the second home they were suited temporarily to live in, like heaven, and hell.

Even though the zombie felt hungry and on the verge of dying-ah, the zombie stopped his thought ‘his already dead’ he continued to say as if he only realized it now. The zombie lightly licks his purple lips with its red tongue still looking at Xia's face. After a while, he deeply sighed. He really can’t bear to eat this girl, if he really plans on eating it, then he can only fatten it up first. Xia faintly smiled when she saw the zombie was mesmerized by her. Aye, it’s a lucky day. She ran into an evolved zombie? She hummed softly under her breath. There’s no harm if she takes one as a lackey, right? Especially if this zombie was extremely obedient to her. As Xia came up with a plan in her head, the zombie was still looking at her in a trance; completely oblivious to what Xia was planning in her mind.

Xia raised her head higher so she could get a closer look at the zombie who was 5 centimetres taller than her. She widened her smile, grinning from ear to ear, what a great height ah! It makes this young lady envious a little bit. The zombie's dull eyes seemed to lighten a bit, he gazed at Xia's face intently like he wanted to eat this girl whole so he was the only one who could see this beautiful smile forever. He wants this girl, he didn’t know the meaning of this but he also felt strongly agreeing to it. An adult man and a little girl possess different thoughts but they were oblivious to each other's thoughts.

Xia scrutinized the zombie face that didn’t even hide the handsome features despite having a grey skin and teeth slightly yellowish. But the one that stands out the most was the dull and red eyes fixing its gaze intently at her. Xia's ears slightly became red because of embarrassment but then her eyes flash an interesting light, the zombie who was gazing at her intently didn’t miss to see that interesting light that passed through the girl's honeyed coloured phoenix eyes. His gaze became deeper even more. He was more completely unable to shift his dull eyes away from the bright face of the girl in front of him even though he can smell another human and zombies approaching their way, but Xia notices it too so she stops scrutinizing the man in front of her and looks over at the direction where she heard the noise. Her ears are very sensitive to the sound because of the happenings in the past and her nose since birth was also sensitive so she notices it beforehand, especially if she smells blood. But she didn’t care; she only narrowed her eyes a little and curled up her plump pouty lips, nose button up, she put one of her hands on the side of her waist and slightly bends her slim body backward while still gazing in the direction where the source of the noise is. When she feels that a human and many zombies are getting near them, her smiling face can’t cover up the ruthlessness that passes through her phoenix eyes. Her sickness is acting up again. Xia's expression slightly twisted, her shoulders shaking in excitement. It’s been an hour and she feels hungry again; her palm was sweating profusely because of the lack of having to hold something thick but sticky. Someone already volunteered; it is not a sin if they became the food of her hands right? Blood, she badly wants to see her hands covered in blood again. Hold it in her palm, spread it until her palms were almost covered with blood and smell it like it was a treasure. The curled up lips let out a sudden laugh, until she laugh maniacally, her honeyed coloured phoenix eyes possess a crazy light but it only made the zombie in front to be in a trance, as if bewitched thoroughly with no way out, this zombie will never be save anymore, by the evil girl claws, because its dead heart was already set on this ruthless girl unknowingly.

The woman who was running from the zombie behind her heard Xia laugh maniacally, with its torn clothes and left arm bitten, she approach Xia mindlessly without thinking what awaits in her, even though she was very scared by Xia laugh but only this girl could help her now judging by the clothes she wore and how is herself is still maintained, this girl maybe have ability to wipe this zombie off.

“Help me! Please help me!” The woman cried for help as she approached Xia and the evolved zombie. Her cry for help that was mixed with fear and joy was really like music to the ears for the ruthless girl. If she makes this woman cry in agony for choosing herself as her saviour, would the thirstiness in her palm disappear for today? Xia's eyes squinted a little in happiness, she giggled when she thought of this, very childish.

The woman still cried for help until her voice went hoarse when noticed the girl didn’t even lift a finger to help her at all. She was very desperate, how could this girl be so cruel? There’s still 1 meter distance before reaching where a girl and an adult man is standing side by side with each other but she felt she already reached her limits. She stumbled upon the rock and lay face to face on the ground but still the girl and the man didn’t bother to help her at all. She closed her eyes in despair and waited for the zombies to devour her body whole.  Xia phoenix eyes flash a strange light; she thought she had seen her former self on this woman, her curled up lips fell off a bit.  The woman waited and waited but after some time passed she didn’t feel any pain of being gnawed but rather the cold wind sent a chill to her spine. She was confused and turned to look over at the zombies who had previously chased after her only to be stupefied at the sight. The zombies were talking strangely to each other, not giving her any bit of attention like they did earlier…
