One evening, I was sauntering my way to the convenience store after my classes in the university ended, when I saw something shining from behind the bushes. Curious, I inched closer to take a better look and saw a white and black medium sized glass ball that fits inside my hand. I contemplated, whether to bring the ball back home or not. But the air was too chilly and the snow started to fall down, so I made a quick decision to bring the glass ball with me back home.
I’m glad that I did.
Back to the present, Noel and Ricky threw me with a look of disbelief.
“What?” Noel stuttered, his mouth slightly agape. I gave a nod before digging through a cloth stash that was on my bed. Then, fumbling my hand inside that stash, I pulled out a glass ball, it’s condition is the same as when I first found it.
Suddenly something struck me, a sense of danger that built up inside my mind stating that these two people with me were probably dangerous people or something, and their intentions upon getting the glass ball is unknown.
I turned to my back to look at them, my light brown pupil darted between their figures.
“Are you guys really good people?”
Noel fluttered his eyeslashes in confusion, while Ricky narrowed his eyes in a judging look.
“What makes you think we’re good people?” Ricky suddenly spoke his mind, which in return, received a shoulder pat from his partner.
“Ricky, don’t. This is not the time for you to throw Higher Order Thinking questions to people.”
“What, she asked?”
“And she just simply ask. Let me talk, okay?” Noel then patted Ricky on his cheek.
“Alright. Having a sense of alarm in you is a good sign, which mean you wanted to maintain your well-being, but I can assure you that we’re not bad people.” He smiled.
My eyes squinted, still judging the pair. Though honestly, I really couldn’t see which part of them that looked like they’re bad people. Unless the two of them were a cosplayer or anything—Noel with his customized white garment that I’ve never seen anywhere before, making me think that he’s an angel, while Ricky wore an also specialized black garment, like an outfit of a king that I saw in one of my favorite webtoon—their outfits were pretty normal looking for me.
Again I said, “You REALLY sure that you’re not a bad people?”
Noel chuckled. “I’m pretty much sure myself.”
Suspicious. Noel sounded too much like that one sincere kid in my course while Ricky sounded like a boisterous bully. They both look unmistakenly intelligent though.
I still hesitated, but it’s not like I have the power to stop them from doing anyting given that they’re able to cross worlds and stuffs. “…Here you go.” I gradually handed him the magic ball before sitting back on my zabuton. Upon receiving it in his hands, Noel stared at the ball unblinked—in awe—before handing it to Ricky.
“Thank you so much for trusting us, and also for your help. You saved us a lot of time.” Noel smiled, a dimple formed on both of his porcelain cheeks as he did. Meanwhile, Ricky glanced only briefly at the ball, before the ball suddenly disappeared from his hand. I again mouthed another WOW.
“Thank you.” Ricky threw me a half smile.
Soon after that, the two of them excused themselves, saying that they should go and they’re sorry for disturbing me. I waved my hands, denying them. Well, I don’t mind having my personal time disturbed if kind and gorgeous people like them visited. I still hoped that they’re good people though.
“Oh, right.”
Noel turned to look at me just before they exited throught the entrance door.
“As a payment for helping us, is there anything that you wanted?” He said. A thought sprung from inside of my mind and I scurried to my bed to take my phone. Treading across the room, I stopped about a meter away from Noel and showed the w******l in front of his face.
“This! I want to go into this novel!” I said enthusiastically.
Noel and Ricky exchanged a look, probably feeling weirded out of me. Somehow, Noel pulled my phone from my hand and scrolled through the chapters.
“Oh, this. Is this the story about an evil woman marrying a poor farmer’s child? And they grow their influence together?” He summed.
“Yes it is! How do you know?”
“I’ve read them before, but just a few chapters…” He scrolled down, seeking the newer chapters.
“Wait…” Ricky’s eyebrow creased.
“You read novels, Noel?” He’s asking the obvious.
“Well, most of us do.”
Ricky paused. “But I thought you only read ancient scriptures?”
Noel drifted his gaze away from the screen and rolled his eyes, an exasperated sigh escaped his mouth. “Ricky, my love. The definition of seeking knowledge isn’t limited to reading only the old books and records. They can also be gained by you reading modern stuffs like this.”
Ricky mouthed an OH. He looked like he just understand something. Though, I’m curious of those ancient scriptures that they talked about.
And their intimate words.
“Anyway, I believe I’ve passed through this dimension once before.”
His words managed to gain my interest. I looked at him with sparkly eyes. “Seriously? This world exist?”
“Every world inside novels exist.”
Noel continued to scroll. He stopped at the last line from the newest chapter that I just read, and snickered. “Clairmont, huh? Interesting.” He mumbled.
“So, what will it be?” He returned the phone to me while raising his slightly thin brows. “Visiting or reincarnation?”
I shuddered at the word reincarnation.
“You…You can reincarnate people?”
“Once or twice. And the range depends on my Mana.” I suddenly saw Ricky’s hand sneaking onto Noel’s shoulders, his glancing eyes glinted with a feeling of concern.
“But are you sure you want to reincarnate Because you’ll leave everything behind, you know?” He motioned to my living space and my things—my manga and novel, my favorite w******l; everything. I started to ponder. If I were to reincarnate now, I won’t be able to see the ending for the novel “The Evil Villainness is My Lover”, but I’m already at the climax, and I don’t think I’ll stumble upon this opportunity anywhere else anymore.
“Ah. How about you give me some special perk or something? You know, like the ones in the reincarnation novel where the main character posses an amazing power or something.”
“Oh.. That sound’s fun.” He nodded while caning his chin.
“And what do you want to be?”
Here comes the question!
“I want to be something majestic! Like the last boss or something. Something that make people stare at you in awe when you appeared.” I rambled. My request sounded preposterous. If I wanted to be the last boss I might as well be a demon king, but in the novel “The Villainness is My Lover”, there’s this one character called Aiden Mikael, an angel trascended from heaven who was in love with the second female lead, the kind and cheerful girl, Rosaria.
Since the beginning of his introduction, I’ve been raring to also posses his beauty. Because, I’m just a common university girl with dark brown hair and a normal looking eyes. I wondered what it feels like to be beautiful, to be looked upon in awe and to be secretly admired, like the angel and these two figures in front of me.
“So you want to be majestic, huh? I see. Then, how about your ability?”
“You can decide on that one, but I wanted to at least have an online shopping store.”
He suddenly chuckled. “What? Are you trying to be like that one adventurer who posses an online shopping power and ventured throughout the world while having a big dog, slime and a small dragon with him?”
My eyes lit up again. “You’ve read that one?”
“Of course. I love laid back adventure stories.”
The phone suddenly bleeped.
“Oh, excuse me.” I switched it off, which was actually my alarm clock. The time is showing 4 am on it.
“We really should get going. It’s almost dawn.” Ricky reminded.
Noel gazed at him and nodded as a response.
“Give me a few moment, Miss Suna.” He lifted both of his hands and brought it to his chest. As he closed his eyes, the room again was lit by a blinding light coming from his hands. I was bracing the probability that he might instantly reincarnate me into another world and closed my eyes. However, after a few moments, rather than me appearing in another space, I was still standing inside my room while in my usual pajama. The only difference that the earlier light made was a pendant that appeared in his hands out of nowhere.
“Here.” He dangled the pendant in front of me. It was a teardrop shaped, equipped with black straps and the substance that was used to make this pendant is soft, like rubber.
“When you’re ready to reincarnate, break this pendant. It will immediately bring you into the world you want. However, you must be quick, because this pendant has it’s own expiry date.” Noel informed, his smile looked a bit fatigued.
“Expiry date? When was that?”
Noel pondered. “In about three weeks from now?”
I pondered. This is the first time I saw someone giving time for the reincarnator to spend their last days in their original world. A lot of story line plot indicates an instant transfer, which made the main character in either in denial or clueless. But I guess giving time also interrupts the thrill.
I thanked the two of them again, bowing my upper body as low as I can to show my respect. They waved me a goodbye, before leving through the door. I stared briefly at the pendant, and dashed to the door to see them off the apartment complex, but they’re gone, sompletely without a trace.

My encounter with Noel Kieran and Ricky Kruger the wanderer pair was not a dream. That, I can ascertain them myself.
To make sure that my reincarnation went well, I finished all my thesis that the lecturer gave me, hang out with my friends, and cherished the few days visit to my hometwon, while also saying how much I love my family and how grateful I am for them. Although weirded out, my father was the happiest to hear his youngest daughter loving confession and ordered a high class meat from his farmer friend to have a barbeque, a few nights before I return back to Tokyo.
I was at the railway station, when I hesitated. Won’t my family feel sad when I’m gone? And what about my friends? I know I’m the most quiet in my circle, but I do have friends that share the same interest with me.
I paused, when I saw the w******l again. The w******l, which has stretched into a few hundred episode and was nearing it’s end, was my company for all these years of my life. I sat down on one of the benches and started reading again, this time from the start.
By the time I realized my surroundings, they’ve already announced the arrival of the last train in about a few minutes. I switched off the phone, resolute with my decision. I switched my phone off and adjusted my scarf around my neck. Walking onto the line with everybody else who just returned from work, I hold the pendant tightly in my hand.
Another announcement of an upcoming train that didn’t stop at my station came through. As the siren wailed and the said train fastly approaching, I darted from the platform, passing through the safety line, and straight onto the train’s front.
The first sensation that I felt after I gained my consciousness is how hard and rocky the floor is. The small rubble kept on rubbing my cheeks that it became scratchy I almost want to throw a tantrum. I grunted, trying to lift my body to scold the dust. My body felt strangely heavy, and strangely seeping with some energy that I don’t know. I squinted my eyes to perceive my surrounding. In my eyes, the place I’m in looks like a dimly lit cave, only the light that comes from a hole located far above me is my source of light.“Where am I?” I mumbled.I suddenly froze when I heard my own voice. They were feminine, but echoing like I’m some kind of huge animal—different from my original voice—which was small and thin. Covering my mouth, I noticed that something sharp is scraping my skin. I glanced at my hand and my eyes widen in horror. My fingers… They were SCALY! And the nails were definitely not that o
While I was eating, I got distracted by an inaudible noise coming from a distance not too far from me. I finished chomping on another few packets of bread, before heading to the voices. As I crawled, in a distance, I saw a group of guys was surrounding something as they talked between them. I sneaked closer for a better look, and completely forgot that I’m a huge dragon. Because of that, my horns got stuck at the upper entrance of the cave—which separates each way of the cave like segments—and what do you know? It cracked. The rock cracked. And, it fell down like sharp stalactites looking on its prey. I am somehow glad that they scattered away when they saw me. After they had left, the only thing left behind was a woman in restraint. Her garment looks like it almost ripped apart from the earlier people, but luckily I managed to come at a right time. The woman was trembling at my sight. Her eyes wavered, horror reflected in her green irises as she tried to sco
Tears of joy were shed by me when the cold wind slaps my reptilian face. I couldn’t help it. Even though the sky wasn’t as bright as I imgined it to be, the handful blinking stars hanging in the dark limitless space were enough to elevate my mood. I fathomed my arms and enjoyed the breeze from my view, standing 30 meters on the ground. As a firebreathing(Or ice breathing, I don’t know) creature, the cold wind felt pretty bearable to me, but not for Elfina who’s shuddering on her feet. Out of pity, I told Elfina to turn around and not look back until I told her to before opening the Online Store to look for a cape. The beautiful designs of the cape almost got my attention, but I must make haste to provide Elfina with better clothing so she didn’t freeze to death. With careful decision, I chose a cape for her—A black colored cape with lines of neon green on it’s hem—which I deemed as a safer design rather than the other grandiose
I, am a dumb lizard. I was flying away to run from a hoard of mad villagers, and now I’m stuck, in the middle of the air, without knowing how to land.I sobbed as my huge two pair of wings carried my body and soared high up in the sky. If crashing sounded gentle, I would’ve done so a long time ago. But the word CRASHING itself is horrifying so there’s no way I would want to accidentally close my wings and fall flat on the ground. If I didn’t die, my whole surroundings will perish by my weight.“Ah mou, what should I do…?” I mumbled to myself, occasionally enjoying the brush of air on my scaly face.Hm?Suddenly I saw something moving not too far from me—like an object that’s covered with invisible magic—despite my front view filled with only sky, sky and sky.“Eh? Am I having auditory illusions now?” Just like that one game I played being a character that slowly became crazy a
I guess being a slime is not that bad. The perspective of how you see this world had definitely changed to be a little bit wider than when I was a dragon. And as a plus, I don’t have to walk when all I need to do is chill on this Arabian looking prince’s shoulders. His face looked familiar somehow but I kinda forgot who he is.The dragon clicked his tongue. “Sheesh don’t move so much, you. Your skin is cold.”“What?!” I slithered further from him while displaying a taken aback expression. “You are the one who turned me into a slime, how dare you complain that my skin is cold? What are you, a baby?”I can see his veins popping from my position. Gritting his jaw, he replied, “I ought to toss you down to the ground and smother you with dirt. Consider yourself lucky for having the luxury of staying on my shoulder.”I snorted. This bastard, I should have just stomped him when I was a dragon. Who
I woke up dazed after that. While still trying to figure out my situation, the first figure that caught my attention is Rodrigar who was sitting beside me. “You’re awake?” He turned to the side to look at me. “Whuh… What happened?” My voice sounded coarse. It might be the after effect of the potion, but I feel my throat dry. “You suddenly went silent, so I checked up on you. Then I saw you laying dormant on the ground without moving an inch when I came near, that’s why I got the idea that you passed out of something and brought you out from the bushes.” Rodrigar scrunched his face. “Just what in the world you’re doing inside the bush that make you pass out?” “Oh…” I rubbed my head with my outstretched limb. Given the looks of my formless limb and my translucent light blue body, I am still a slime. “It’s nothing…” I heaved a defeated sigh. I guess other than giving me pain, the potion didn’t give me any other effect. Thankfully I’m still
Now that I think about it, I wonder what is Rodrigar’s full name? I’ve been literally calling him Rodrigar for the past 2 chapters now I can’t help getting curious.“By the way, Rodrigar. What is your full name?” I turned to my side. Rodrigar was sitting with his leg crossed on top of brushing his nose length bangs to the side. The air is especiallly fierce, given the high altitude the both of us were at. Luckily I have cold resistance skill—from when I strain my eyes reading through all the skills in my skills list, and even if I didn’t, the surface of the skin of this dragon both of us were sitting on is enough to keep me warm throughout the night. Apparently Rodrigar has a skill to duplicate his body into several copies, and this dragon is Rodrigar’s duplicated self.Rodrigar shot me a side glance. “It’s Clairmont. I thought I’ve told you before.”I fluttered my eyes a bit. “Clairmo
“Finally I’m in!” I exclaimed. I was stretching my arms after registering myself and Clairmont at the entrance gate to the town. I actually panicked a bit during the registration process because I don’t have any money with me when they require entrance fee. Though, because of that reason too I learned something about my ‘ONLINE SHOPPING’ skill.Apparently I can withdraw the money I gained according to any amount I like. It was like withdrawing money from an ATM, although I wouldn’t need any card or PIN number to do so but to just tap some buttons. This skill is only mine anyways so I don’t think I would need that much of a security. In sum, after I learned about the extension of my skill, I quickly withdrew some money and paid the entrance fee for me and Clairmont to get us out from that situation. Now back to the current time, where both me and Clairmont were walking down the main street. It was strange assuming t
(TMI! It’s TMI I tell you!)(Suna’s POV)It was almost night time when we returned to Varain. I wasn’t as tired as when I fought the earth dragon, but it did feel pretty tiring answering question about how me and Clairmont managed to defeat the entire population of goblins in a single day, when we arrived at the adventurer’s guild to submit our quest.“Their interrogation reminded me again of why I hate mingling with lesser races.” Clairmont commented, while he enjoyed some tea that I brewed.“Uhm, I too am a lesser race, you know?” Carter, who was daydreaming by himself, suddenly answered. His reply earned a chuckle from me and a grimace from Clairmont.“Clairmont, that’s not a nice thing to say. You will hurt someone if you say that to their faces.” And let’s not forget, I was a human before I became a dragon too. But fair enough, I too felt like the amou
(That's the main character alright)(Suna’s POV)“Thank you so much for saving us!” While I hover about the ground and slowly landed on its earthly surface, I saw Minerva walking towards me. There was this wide smile that she showed us, looking particularly glad and satisfied, that it showed a glint in her mesmerizing crimson eyes. She shot a smile between me and Clairmont, before continuing her unending praise. “The two of you are amazing earlier. I don’t know what will happen if you guys didn’t come.” Minerva said. Her cheekbones that align well with her face structure, making them look full but not too plump, was blushed with a soft red hue. She was blushing, and I felt like I would too, if she looked at me like that. All I could do was sheepishly giggle, a habit my body couldn’t help but do when I feel awkward, while Clairmont—who stood by my side—was throwing his eyes out
(A fan meeting yeay!)(Suna’s POV)[Several minutes earlier…]“I’m hungry.”My eyes deadpanned him. “Are you seriously hungry right now? We are on an emergency mission to save Carter, you know?”“Well, but I can’t do anything if I’m hungry, okay? Don’t you have any snacks that you can buy from your skill? Like an ice cream or something?” He whined.I grimaced at him. “I see what you’re on about. You’re trying to coax me into buying you an ice cream, huh? I won’t buy anything until we save Carter-!”GGRRROOOWLLL….The surroundings went silent.Clairmont bashfully pursed his lips and rubbed his belly. “…I told you I’m hungry.”His statement won another grimace from me, because I didn’t expect for him to be honest. He’s usually either sly, or strange. But he
(Saviour) Carter The hammering in his chest rendered his fingers to tremble, while also numbing his senses towards the surroundings. The people’s chattering, the slightly chilly atmosphere, and even the bright sun seemed to cancel out in the presence of this unknown girl. What is this? Why was he feeling this way? “Tell me, who are you?” The female stopped chatting with what Carter presume her teammates, and turned to look at him with a thin smile on her rosy lips. The wind was gently blowing against them, making the side bangs that framed her face flowed softly. Carter felt choked of his own words, and looked down in embarrassment. The toned-down atmosphere became even quiet. “My name is Minerva, Minerva Lyle Williams.” She rested her hands on her hips, and widened her smile. “Now that I’ve introduced myself, might as well give me your name.” Carter instantly froze. The hammering against his chest didn’t seem like it will stop soon, and for some reason, he was feeling pretty b
(The end. Yeah right.)(Suna’s POV)In an instant, the two of us stayed still, patiently checking Carter.“…He really is walking away from us.” I repeated, while turning behind my shoulders to look at Clairmont. The glinting hue of deep gold in his eyes indicated the activation of his power, and by his nodding, he seemed to feel the same.I returned my focus to my radar. The Carter in my radar looked more like a circular dot tinted in light green, meaning that he’s an ally. Otherwise, all the dots in my radar, which represents other existence, is either white, for neutral creep or weak enemy, or red, representing an existence of severe hostility. For the time being, I zoomed in my radar to see Carter up close. His dot turned into the close-up view of him walking through the forest, like a CCTV camera or something. His transcend through the forest looked unstable. Like he was walking without a destination
(Upheaval)CarterWhile the ground shook every once in a while, and loud and shrill shrieks could be heard filling the forest, Carter was anxiously scanning his surroundings. It all started when Suna told him via telepathy that she would be sending something in his way. But the problem was, he missed the chance to ask what it really was. He remembered guessing whether it was an enemy or not, but she just told him not to worry.Which made him even frantic.Carter is in no way prominent in fighting, nor even guarding, so he was sure that this wasn’t a great idea, for whatever thing one of his benefactors asked to keep an eye on. However, he was also not that prominent in magic to be able to bridge a telepathic communication with Suna to respond to her.For the countless amount of time, Carter swallowed nervously. He was starting to feel pain from his oesophagus, as he was swallowing only air for how wary he was towards his surroun
(A battle begun)Suna“Huh?” Carter started to panic after hearing that. “Wh-What should we do about them?”I passed my glance at Clairmont.“Do I look like that to you before?” I asked.Clairmont grimaced at me. “Well, just like that, but whinier and louder.”I shielded my face and proceeded to memetically mouthed an OH. That was a pure insult, but I have nothing to say because I can be gross sometimes.“We do nothing, obviously.” Clairmont said, replying to Carter while taking off his cloak and placing it inside his inventory. Following him, I did the same before adjusting my braid. For some reason, white tunic, black pants or skirts, and a pair of brown leather boots have become a go-to outfit for both me and Clairmont. Maybe because it’s easy to acquire them, even though I could buy a myriad of outfits from the [ONLINE SHOPPING
Repeat after me: Flick and SpankSuna“Hey, Clairmont.” I muttered to him, without giving him a glance as I etched my eyes on the chieftain’s shenanigans of opening and closing his mouth. Those armor looks heavy, especially that contraption-something protecting his neck. “I think my eyes are playing tricks with me.”Clairmont shot me a side-eye. “You’re saying?”“I am not the only one who sees her, didn’t I?” Clairmont glanced to the chieftain again. “Oh, you’re right. There is a girl beside the goblin chieftain…” His voice trailed off; shock laced his tone little by little.“Why?” His face scrunched into a puzzled frown. I don’t even know, Clairmont, so that confusion didn’t help me much.In the entire spectrum of panorama my eyes could see, this greenish and crude view in front of me is intervened by the un
SunaFrom architectural sense, Varain is quite different than Rustaval. Probably because it’s a town governed by mostly humans, I can say, it fits exactly what a stereotypical medieval town would look like. Bustling streets with a little less hygiene and livestock frolicking about, wanting to be sold, hawker yelling the freshness of their products, less magical looking adventurer guild, and…Goblins.“Ugh…” I unconsciously scowled. Now don’t get me wrong there. I don’t harbour any hostile intent towards the race people called ‘goblins’, I just deeply… despise them. You know, like when you don’t know the truth and blindly dislike someone you barely even know?Yeah, like that, netizens.Another reason why those greenskins irked me to a certain degree, was because the insurmountable amount of mangas and animes stating their notoriety. Imp-like creature that likes
