Seth and Isabella were discovering a different kind of love. They were learning that it wasn't a destination. It's a constant journey of choosing each other, understanding each other, and growing together.

Everyone around them could see the change. Their smiles were different. The way they worked, the way they talked to people - everything had a new energy. Something beautiful was happening between them, something rare and precious.

For the first time, they were being completely truthful about how they truly felt - raw, unfiltered and unapologetically real.

No more hiding. No more pretending.

Just them.

Just love.

Seth and Michael were deeply engrossed in work, so concentrated that Seth had unconsciously removed his suit jacket and rolled up his shirt sleeves. The kind of focus that made time disappear.

When his phone buzzed, Seth raised a finger to Michael. "One sec," he muttered, reaching for the device.

The moment he saw Isabella's name, his entire demeanor softened. A smile spread

The first few days of their relationship was like this wild, can't-breathe-without-you tornado. Every moment they weren't together felt like something was missing. Work was just this annoying interruption between the time they could actually be with each other.Lunch became their lifeline. Their sacred hour where they would meet, steal touches and kisses, and share every single detail about their morning. Who talked to who? What weird thing happened in the office.. Nothing was off-limits.They had become what Edward jokingly called “completely lovestruck”—always finding excuses to touch, existing in their own perfect little world. They woke up together, went to bed together, and filled every moment in between with each other. One of their favorite “in-betweens” was solving cold case documentaries—not professionally, just because they could. Sitting close, heads almost touching, trading wild theories back and forth had become their unique version of a date nightTheir love for diving i

For most of the trip to the apartment, silence ruled the car, Seth could tell something was wrong with Isabella. She kept turning a piece of her hair in her finger while her eyes looked blank as if she was daydreaming.“Hello,” he said, slowly moving his hand to the side of her thigh and giving her a light squeeze. She jolted, startled out of her thoughts.“Uh…did you say something?”“Something?” he repeated, his lips curving into a grin. “I said about a dozen things, but clearly none of them were interesting enough to compete with whatever is going on in your head.”Her cheeks flushed. “Oh…sorry. I was just…umm.” “What is going on in that head of yours?”“Nothing,” she replied quickly, looking out the window to avoid his gaze.“Nothing?” He moved a little bit closer and lowering his tone further he said. “It’s lustful when you look at me like I am your next meal?”Her head turned toward him quickly and her face was flush red with embarrassment. “What?! I was not staring at you!”“Yo

Seth drove like he was running out of time. He was eager to ensure that Isabella never read all these rumors – not like this, not unsullied. His phone rang yet again and it seemed like this was the fourth or fifth time within that night alone. He knew that the call was from his mother, he didn’t even need to look at the caller ID.Heaving a deep breath he pressed the button marked answer.“Seth Donovan!” she barked before he could speak. “You’re all over the internet! What is going on?”“Mom, not now,” he said sharply, his patience crumbling.“Don’t you ‘not now’ me,” she shot back. “Your aunties have been calling me nonstop asking if she is the one. Seth, is she?”“She’s not,” he snapped, his fingers drumming against the steering wheel. “It’s a misunderstanding.”“A misunderstanding? So the photos are fake? The articles are fake? Seth, I’m your mother. Don’t hide this from me.”“I’m not hiding anything,” he said through gritted teeth. She scoffed. “So you’re okay letting the world th

“How about you make me,” Seth murmured, his voice smooth as silk as he leaned in, his face inches from hers. His breath brushed against her skin, and Isabella’s chest tightened. She stepped back slightly, but he followed, closing the gap effortlessly."Anyone could walk in right now," Isabella whispered, her voice shaky. But her body paid no mind to her brain. Even as she said the words, she was not moving away.Seth's lips curved into a knowing smile. "Maybe that's part of the thrill," he murmured. She kept clearing her throat, trying to ignore the magnetic pull between them. “You know,” she started, her voice shaking just a little, “this is…a company apartment, Seth. We should probably—uh—keep things professional.”“Professional?” Seth repeated, his lips curling into a smirk. “Are you seriously going to carry on as if you do not feel this?”She blushed modestly, she turned her face away and did not look directly at him. “I do not have the slightest clue on what you are talking abou

Seth leaned casually against the doorframe of the dining area, his hands in his pocket. Isabella stood just behind him, trying to match his calm demeanor even though her nerves were all over the place. The last thing she wanted was to make anything seem out of the ordinary. All three of them looked up as Seth cleared his throat. “We’ll be heading out tomorrow,” Seth started. “Isabella and I—”“To meet a client,” Isabella cut in quickly. She shot him a subtle look, daring him to contradict her.Karen frowned slightly. “A client?”“Yeah,” Isabella said with a quick nod, not missing a beat. “Important project. Can’t wait until Monday, unfortunately.”Leo leaned back in his chair, stretching his arms over his head. “Middle of Tuberose? Must be serious."“It is,” Isabella said, her tone light but unwavering. “Right, sir?”“Right.” Seth said slowlyEdward, who’d been silently watching, smirked and tilted his mug toward Seth. “Good luck, buddy. Sounds like a high-stakes kind of meeting.”Se

Isabella couldn't stop smiling as they drove home from Diana's. The night had gone better than she could have ever imagined - from Seth's surprise stylist to his mom's warm acceptance. It felt almost too good to be true, like one of those perfect moments you want to bottle up and keep forever. She leaned against his shoulder, replaying his mother's words in her head while admiring the man that was hers. They both had given her something she hadn't realized she craved so badly. How did she get so lucky?"You're thinking too loud," Seth murmured, his eyes still on the road. He reached over, finding her hand, his thumb tracing absent circles on her skin."Your mom called me 'sweetheart' when we were helping with the dishes," Isabella said softly, the words carrying a weight Seth couldn't possibly miss. "Not just once, like people do to be polite. Three times."Seth's hand tightened on hers. He knew – of course he knew – about her mother who'd never really been there, about the home that

Isabella’s head snapped up at that, eyes wide despite the tears. "No!" The word came out more desperate than she intended, making Seth freeze. His arms were still wrapped protectively around her, but she could feel the tension running through him."Baby—""Seth, please." She clutched at his shirt harder, not caring that she probably looked like a mess. "You can not."Those gorgeous eyes of his darkened with anger – not at her, never at her – but at everyone who dared to hurt her. "Izzy, they are attacking you. I can not just—""Yes, you can," she whispered. "You have to. Please." Her voice cracked on the last word. "I have been through this before. Fighting back...it just feeds the fire. Makes everything worse."God, the way he looked at her. Like it physically hurt him to see her like this. Like he would move heaven and earth just to make it stop. “I hate that you have to go through this. I am so sorry,” he whispered, pulling her close. The way she shook against him made his chest a

"Okay, that's it!" Seth said, picking up the dinner plates. "You guys have been here for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner. "Aw come on, there is no such thing as overstaying when it is family!" He stretched out dramatically. "Actually...maybe I should just grab my bags and move in. How about that?"Seth looked like he was about to smack him, and Edward ducked away laughing. “Alright, alright! I am leaving.”Isabella bit her lip to hold back a laugh, but her amusement faded when she caught Seth watching her mouth. The elevator doors slid open with a soft ding, and Isabella stepped out, her mind still reeling from the lunch encounter with her parents. She was so lost in thought that she almost walked right into Seth, who was waiting by the reception desk with two coffee cups in hand."Lunch without me?" Seth's teasing voice snapped her out of her reverie. "I'm wounded. Deeply, profoundly wounded."Isabella couldn't help but smile, some of the tension leaving her shoulders at the sight of him. "Trust me, you didn't miss much.""Oh?" He fell into step beside her, offering one of the coffees. "The cafe's turkey club is usually worth writing home about. And I know how much you love their homemade chips.""Didn't get to order." She dropped into her office chair with a sigh, gratefully accepting the coffee. The familiar aroma helped ground her. "You have loads of nerve, don't you?" As Eliza's figure vanished beyond Zenith's glass doors.Isabella's mother muttered something under her breath. James Sr. responded, "Calm down," but there was little conviction in his voice. He stirred his coffee absently. "There is nothing to be gained by creating a scene here."“Calm down?” She snapped, throwing her napkin onto the table. “That ungrateful little—” She caught herself, looking at the surrounding tables where diners were beginning to take notice. She lowered her voice to a harsh whisper. “We brought her up! Took her into the fold like she was one of ours. And this is the thanks we get?”With an astonished look on his lips, James Jr, who had been drinking an expensive gin and tonic, sat back in his chair. "You didn't exactly act with good intentions when you did that, Mother, and I hate to tell you that. Let’s not rewrite history.”She shot him a warning look. “Don’t you dare speak to me like that?”James Sr. pinched the bridge of h

Eliza couldn't sleep. How could she, when Jackson's entire apartment looked like some crazy rich person had exploded all over it? Not that she wasn't used to his place by now - God knows she'd spent enough time here while Richard thought she was at "pregnancy yoga." The thought made her smile as she snuggled deeper into Jackson's chest, his steady breathing usually enough to lull her to sleep. But not tonight.Maybe it was the millions in stolen goods scattered around them. Or maybe it was just that their son was at Maria's place. Although, JJ always slept better with Jackson around - probably because he was actually his father, not that Richard had ever figured that out, but they needed alone time."You're thinking too loud," Jackson mumbled against her hair, pulling her closer. Even half-asleep, he knew exactly how to hold her."Sorry, baby." She turned in his arms, pressing a kiss to his jaw. "Just worried about JJ.""He's fine. Maria's got him." Louis couldn't shake the feeling of déjà vu as he walked through the precinct door. It all felt like yesterday and a lifetime ago at the same time. The first person to spot him was Robin from records. Then Paul. Then Angela. One by one, they started clapping. Louis felt his ears grow hot as more officers joined in, some whistling, others calling out. "Welcome back, Detective.""Alright, alright, save some noise for the actual criminals!" The captain's voice cut through the applause. He stood in his office doorway, arms crossed, trying and failing to hide a smile. "Detective Louis. My office."Louis made his way through the crowd, accepting handshakes and back pats. Inside the captain's office, he couldn't help but smile at the memories that kept flooding his mind - back-to-back countless briefings and debriefing"Something funny, Louis?" Captain asked."Just thinking, Cap. Happy to be back." "Sit down, son," He said, closing the door. "It's nice to officially have you back. Not like

Jackson left with all that was given to him, and Eliza went back to grabbing whatever else she could find. That's when she saw it - a picture that had fallen behind Richard's desk. The one from that night they'd finally broken Isabella. She picked it up, a smirk playing on her lips as she remembered how Isabella had stood there, clueless about what was coming. Her own cousin, so trusting, so stupid. The glass was cracked now, right through where Isabella should have been standing."How fast things can go wrong?" Eliza traced the crack with her nail, remembering how Isabella had cried and begged her to tell the truth. Like she'd ever admit that getting Richard into bed had been the easiest part of her plan.“The strongest family now a laughing stock."All those family dinners, all those times Isabella had confided in her about her marriage problems. God, it had been almost too easy. And Victoria - she'd played right into Eliza's hands, doing the dirty work of destroying Isabella's repu

The patient's dog eats the fattest bone – or so they say. But sometimes, that patient dog might just starve to death waiting for scraps that never come. But that wasn’t the case for Eliza. Oh, no, Eliza was no ordinary dog. She watched, calculated, and planned. The bone had always been her target, fat and juicy, waiting just out of reach. She had endured Richard Stone's controlling behaviour, his condescension, and his family's thinly veiled disdain. And now? The universe had finally served her dinner on a silver platter, and she was ready to devour every last bite. Eliza lay back on her chaise lounge, her silk robe draped loosely around her. The morning sun streamed through the tall windows, hitting the marble floors in a way that could blind you if you looked directly at it—but that was the charm of having floor-to-ceiling windows in a Bali villa, wasn’t it?She couldn't stop scrolling through her phone, biting back the smile that threatened to take over her whole face. Her lip glo

There was a buzz about the precinct that Louis hadn't experienced in a long time. Officers hurried back and forth, their footsteps resonating against the worn vinyl floors, as phones rang nonstop. Richard Stone's downfall had caused confusion, but it was the correct kind of upheaval, as if justice had finally found its feet.Louis couldn't help but lean forward on the bench near the holding cells, his hands clasped together as he watched the scene unfold. His suspension might have kept him from being in the thick of it, but wild horses couldn't drag him away now. Not when they were this close. The main doors swung open with a bang. Lieutenant Rodriguez strode in, flanked by two officers who had Richard Stone between them. Even in cuffs, Stone carried himself like he owned the place. His expensive suit was only slightly wrinkled, and that insufferable smug smile still played on his lips."Get him processed," Rodriguez ordered, his voice cutting through the noise. "Full intake. Tara could not sit anymore. She leaned back from her laptop, her mind was racing a million miles an hour as she paced back and forth across her kitchen floor. Holy shit. Holy. Actual. Shit. Oh my god, she thought. Human trafficking. And all these powerful people involved. They were way over their heads.Louis watched her from his seat, his fingers drumming lightly on the table as he gave her space to process. “What is the problem, Tara?” he finally asked. She spun around to face him, her eyes wild. “What is the problem?” she echoed. “Louis, this could kill us. You know that, right? Come on, let’s be realistic! I know we are happy we have this, but”She ran her hands through her hair for probably the hundredth time, making it look even more of a mess, but she couldn't care less right now. This is bigger than them and they need to face it. She began pacing again and gestured to the screen like it was a bomb about to explode. “This isn’t just a little dirt we can throw at Richard. This

Louis nodded. “How is her dad?”“Pre-op tests all morning. Surgery's scheduled for two." Seth said, leaning against the hallway wall next to Louis. "Tara.” Louis’s voice cracked slightly, betraying the emotions he was trying to hold backShe froze for half a second, her grip tightening on the flimsy coffee cup. "Louis," she said back, her voice carefully steady, but her eyes told another story. They always did when it came to him.Seth looked between them, then cleared his throat. "I should...check on Isabella. My girl should be starving.” He squeezed Louis’s shoulder. “Text me if you need me.”The silence that followed felt heavy enough to touch. Louis’s eyes stayed on Tara as she lifted the cup to her lips, taking a small sip. Her nose wrinkled at the taste. It was such a small, familiar thing, but it hit him har
