Chapter 6

Darius tried to hide his real intentions from his brother, but all he could think of was the silliest excuse ever, "she's just happy to be on my bed Ariel, ask her how she got here?"

Ariel was not dumb and knew that his brother was lying he just gave his brother a strong look and then went out of the room.

For a moment seeing Ariel leaving the room made me scared, was he going to let his brother have his way with me without doing anything to stop him, well I hoped not.

Then something happened that made me shocked and surprised at the level of authority and fear that Darius had for his brother, Darius looked into my eyes.

"Get up now! Leave my room," he did not twitch in his sentences for they were just as he meant them, I quickly got on my feet and ran away from the room.

While I opened the door I saw Ariel standing outside, "was he making sure his brother let me go?" I did not have time to ask him as he immediately left after seeing that I had been sent out of the room.

While all this was happening all Ariel could think about was how to convince the kingmakers that he was the right one to be made king, the late king did not state an heir.

In the situation where the late king failed to state an heir before it means demise it meant that the kingmakers would have the decision to screen any available candidate and then make him the king.

It seems that only Ariel was interested in this position as he was the only one who started paying visits to all the warlords, governors, and mayors, these persons make up the kingmakers committee.

He would host parties for them and try to form a close bond with them, meanwhile, the kingdom was being run by the parliament till they Instilled a new King.

Darius was always going out but no one had an idea where he was going, it was later it was known that he had formed a friendship with the king of Drox, a very powerful werewolf Kingdom.

Darius would go there and spend the weekend and all the slaves including I would have a huge sigh of relief anytime he leaves, it was obvious that a huge burden leaves our shoulders whenever he is gone.

For some reason Ariel had to go on an adventure, he was meant to kill a deadly snake disturbing the neighboring kingdom, and he wanted to do this for the sake of building a stronger relationship with the lord of that village.

While he was away, the head of the parliament was now Darius. Darius was viscous and a master minder, her called me and told me to seat down with him and have a drink.

"Angelina, you know what I love most about you?" He asked sipping his eyes and looking straight into my eyes, he did not even blink, it felt like a staring contest!

I did not say a word, I kept on looking at him and he could tell that I was disgusted, he then chuckled a bit and stood up admiring himself in the mirror, I was told he does that a lot.

"I have a plan, and that plan is simple, I want to cleanse humanity, let me tell you something my dearest, humanity is stained with useless souls and I want to cleanse the world…" I interrupted him while he was talking.

"You want to cleanse the world, how many people shall you kill and oppress? Is all this a joke to you?" I was so bittered and angered by his line of thought.

He could sense my anger and then he said, "You know we are together in this, I would reach the highest peak of my plans and nothing will stop me, listen! By tomorrow we ride to Drox."

What was shocking was the way he used the word, 'we' it wondered me when we started becoming 'we' it has always been about him and now the use of language!

"Burn that page for me, I cannot erase the time of sleep Angelina, I cannot be loved so set me free, I cannot deliver the love that you need or take care of your soul," He said.

"I never asked you for that!" I replied almost immediately. He then looked at me with such sad eyes, past and present were all showing and it felt like the world was colliding.

He left the room, he had gone to give his servants orders about our next trip to Drox. He had me stay in a room he prepared, it was more or less like the room of a princess, I knew not much about his aim so I decided to just rest for that day.

The kingdom has carefully breeder one of the most deadly human monsters they could ever think about and they had no idea about it, I could not sleep for some reason.

I came out of my room and luckily for me the two stupid guards he posted to the front of my door were already on the floor fast asleep it was almost like they were enchanted.

I heard sounds from Darius' room and my inquisitive nature had me go peek a bit, what I saw made my whole body quiver in fear, I could not believe what sort of monster I thought was my destined mate.

Peeping through the door I saw Darius eating, he was eating human flesh, how disgusting could that be? He ate the human flesh and had two other humans on the floor.

For some reason the humans could not scream but made some special sounds that I could hear, never had I heard such sounds, they were filled with horror and tears begging for their lives.

No! My heart was boiling, I could not watch this anymore!!! I pushed the door and opened his room and screamed, "stop it!" Darius looked at me.

He then smiled and said, "My dear, this is a necessary ritual, needed for the betterment of all forms of lives, humans and outcasts, I have to do this."

Could someone be more disgusting, I told him to his face, "I hate you! You are nothing but a monster and a wild beast! I wish I did kill you!"

He then stood up and said, 'just the way you did kill my father," he then walked up to me and my heart started beating heavily once again, then suddenly I felt sharp fangs on my neck!

His teeth were aimed at my carotid artery, I felt a sharp pain but somehow it still felt calm and relaxing, it was a mixture of pleasure and pain, I passed out immediately on the floor after the bite.
