Enya pov

It's been two weeks now. Two horrible, stressful, and just plain ridiculous weeks at the Alpha Asshole's side. I'm annoyed beyond limits - things are going downhill. First of all, there's no sign of my father or the Alliance. Sometimes I feel like the promises they made, along with the tattoo I'm wearing, meant nothing from the start. For some reason, they have forgotten my existence, and no one has even tried to come to my aid.

The second problem is Allison, the annoying and way too clingy step-sister. She does her best to stay close to Vincent, and because of that, I can't leave his side for long. Part of me really misses the smelly cells and countless questions from the old man.

My third and biggest problem of all is none other than the fucking Alpha of the monster pack. As soon as he

I see where this book is going and obviously Vince and Enya are mates. She’s killed so many wolves for no real reason though. How do you justify being with somebody like that?

Vincent povA ray of sunlight breaks through the blinds and shines straight into my face. There's no better way to wake up than being blinded by the sun. In fact, there are better ways, not only better but more exciting. I can think of at least two; surely, there are more. However, that's not something I should think of when I wake up, at least not while there's a hunter in my bed. One day, when I find my mate, if I have one at all, she will sleep beside me, and I'll do anything to make her mornings more pleasant.I stretch my arms and yawn, waiting for Enya to let out another exasperated groan. She's really not a morning person, and the constant bickering about when I woke her up is starting to get on my nerves.I rub my eyes and hold my breath. Nothing. She doesn't complain, moan or hide her he

  • Red Riding Hood Killed A Wolf   CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT

Vincent povEnya nods her head, and we stand frozen in place. I hear Allison yell that someone should set the timer for her headstart so the human doesn't try to cheat. Her comment amuses me- an adult shifter showing concern for a human who might try to trick her. In any case, she has many advantages, we're stronger, and our senses are sharper than a human's. Besides, Enya's eyesight is not exactly the best either. I clear my throat and hug Enya, resting my chin on her shoulder. "Be careful out there; I mean it. Be careful if you see an older tree. The ground can be littered with branches; if you trip over one, it could be your downfall. Also, Allison will do anything to sneak a win. Be quiet and listen. She'll probably be hiding somewhere to catch you off guard. Promise me you'll come back." I'm putting too much faith in Enya- she's still the enemy. But if there's one thing I know about hunters, it's that they do

WARNING:The chapter contains triggering contents such as blood and violence.Enya povI walk as slowly as I can towards the forest. No doubt I'm getting too excited for my own good; after all, I'm hunting. I won't mention how excited I feel for the opportunity to hunt someone who still looks down on me. She has no idea what she did to herself when she decided to fight me.But the excitement and adrenaline have nothing to do with my slow pace. I need to calm down after the kiss with Vincent. Part of me knows that was just for show- his pack must believe in our imaginary relationship as much as Allison does. The other part keeps doubting everything I do to free myself. Reality always catches up with me when I don't need it - sometimes, I'd prefer to live a fantasy life that's nothing but a fragile bubble. I've never had anyone

  • Red Riding Hood Killed A Wolf   CHAPTER THIRTY

Vincent povEven a fool would see the disappointment on my face. What I'd call an eternity after Enya strode to the forest, Allison appeared in her human form. Her clothes are clean, not a speck of dirt or blood, and the smile on her lips could light up an entire town. I won't say the smile is beautiful, no, but it's wider than her legs on Christmas evening. Her appearance makes me suspicious- she went against a hunter and returned like nothing happened. That's impossible. This woman has no idea what training means, and neither does her wolf.I huff as Aros moves closer. He shakes his head, just as disappointed as I am. "So much fucking money, and I lost it all," he curses under his breath."It's not about money," I try to talk over the cheers of the crowd. "

  • Red Riding Hood Killed A Wolf   CHAPTER THIRTY ONE

Enya povMy body aches, and opening my eyes seems to be the worst thing I can do. I try my best to sit up, but something holds me back. Although I can't see much now, I know I'm on top of the bed because the mattress beneath me is relatively comfortable. Aside from the sore feeling in the places where the damn wolf clawed me, I don't feel any pain.I sigh and mutter a few curse words under my breath until the weight finally falls off me. I hear someone storm out the door, and within a minute, someone else comes into the room. "Good morning, Enya. How are you feeling?" I feel a gentle hand on my forehead as the owner of the angelic voice questions me. I assume it's a woman; no man could ever be so gentle or sound so good. She hands me a glass of water as if she can read my mind.

  • Red Riding Hood Killed A Wolf   CHAPTER THIRTY TWO

Enya povNow that Mister Alpha Asshole, who has promoted himself to second base moody King, has left, I sit in my bed dumbfounded. Maybe he needs a day or two to come to his senses since he's been dealing with Allison lately? Whatever his problem may be, I have no intention of meddling in his affairs.Strangely, I want to figure him out and at the same time don't care for this man. The more I think about Vincent's behaviour, the more my head hurts, and soon I give up on everything. He can be an asshole for all I care.I sigh, wondering if Aros will come to see me. I am selfish, I know - weeks ago, I tried to kill them all, and now I am waiting for one to come and make my day. But some things have changed during this time, and I can't deny that some of my ideals have changed.

  • Red Riding Hood Killed A Wolf   CHAPTER THIRTY THREE

Vincent povI fucking hate him! I hate him so much it hurts! All this time, I was the one sitting by her bedside, dreading anything that might happen. I held her hand and reminded her of the reasons she needed to wake up. Even though I hated it, I mentioned her family and the Alliance so Enya would know that so many wanted her to live. Yet after she wakes up, the first person she asks about is Aros.I don't understand this. At all.How can she be like this? I appreciate my Beta and all he did while I was taking care of her, but I never thought she would develop this strange attachment to him.I leave her hospital room without so much as a single glance back. As usual, Aros is in the kitchen, so I trudge over and tell him Enya wants to see him. T

  • Red Riding Hood Killed A Wolf   CHAPTER THIRTY FOUR

Vincent pov I shake off the doubt and decide it's best to ask her questions. I mean, how much longer can I live with assuming something about her when she's standing right in front of me when I could just act like an adult and ask her. I get up from my seat and take a step towards them. Out of nowhere, Allison appears almost next to me, and at that moment, I want to kill myself. How much more do I have to put up with because of her? But her appearance isn't quite as bad as I thought. Now I can pretend I tried to avoid her, not sit aside and watch everyone like a creep. "What do you want?" I throw my head back and grunt. "Haven't I done enough to avoid you already? Besides, you should go home. Didn't I make myself clear enough when I

  • Red Riding Hood Killed A Wolf   EPILOGUE

ENYAA week ago we got married. I didn't wear the traditional white dress. Instead, one of the Omegas made a beautiful fire pattern dress for me to pay my respects to my father and his tribe. There were too many people around for us to end the evening on a somewhat quiet note. His father walked me down the aisle, Aros was Vince's best man, and my mother helped Brent care for their newborn daughter. My little girl was given the honour of being the flower girl. Yes, we chose to adopt- the child that grew closest to me. We adopted Bella, and since that day, we have been an official family. I think it all worked out for the best- all three of us were robbed of family and found each other when we needed it most.Vince and I decided we don't need a honeymoon- our

Enya povIf it hadn't been for that lovely lady, I wouldn't have been able to accept the news as fast as I did. Everything the pack doctor told me felt like a punch below the belt. Still, I'm glad she told me the truth and offered to tell me more about the history of werewolves. If Mother Nature decided I couldn't have children, so be it.The only person I'm really worried about is Vince. He was at the hospital and stormed off as soon as the doctor told him everything. It's been hours since Aros tried to mind-link him and about thirty minutes since Aros left the packhouse. I hope he finds him as soon as possible and drags this stubborn man home. Vince needs to sit down with me and talk. And while I know the news hurts him- there are some things in life we can't change. And this, unfortunately, is one of them.

  • Red Riding Hood Killed A Wolf   CHAPTER HUNDRED TWENTY ONE

Vincent povI'm lost.So fucking desperate for an answer. Or at least for someone to jump around the corner with a camera in hand, yelling "jokes on you".I've been wandering the woods for hours. I don't have it in me to go back to Enya and break her beyond repair. Although she dreaded the possibility of pregnancy, I know she wanted to be a mother later. Neither of us ever had a real family, and now we have no chance to start our own.I hoped that getting some fresh air would help me think, but it doesn't. All I can picture is the pain in her eyes when she encounters a pregnant pack member or one of those kids. Enya is stuck in a place that will constantly remind her of everything she will never have.

  • Red Riding Hood Killed A Wolf   CHAPTER HUNDRED TWENTY

Vincent pov Before I leave Enya in the bedroom, I check her forehead to make sure she doesn't have a fever. The fact that she has heat after such a short period of time from the previous one is strange. I have many responsibilities, and I should discuss a few things with Melinda, but instead of getting to work, I take a detour to the hospital. As soon as I open the door, I see a bunch of nurses. They all stop and wait for me to acknowledge them, but I won't. Not because I don't respect them, but these women gave away their plan without thinking that I might hear these rumours. The nurses and some Omegas decided to find out how loyal I am to my mate and basically tried to set up their Luna. I'll deal with them later, now- I'm a man on a mission. I walk past the nur

  • Red Riding Hood Killed A Wolf   CHAPTER HUNDRED NINETEEN

Enya povI'm speechless. As I stare back at those pitch-black eyes, I forget how to breathe. I notice a shift between the colours in his eyes-Vince is fighting back, but I doubt his wolf will let him have the upper hand. Now that the beast has the upper hand, he'll use it for the alone time he's been trying to get for so long.Damian reaches for the faucet and turns off the water. I don't expect much from a wolf; he's supposed to run on all fours and be an animal, but to my surprise, he acts kind of human. He steps out of the shower, holds my hand as I follow, and reaches for a towel. Though I assume he'd need it, Damian wraps it around my body and grabs another to dry me off."Mate can't walk wet, will catch a cold." He mumbles to himself once again, surprising me so much that I can't beli

  • Red Riding Hood Killed A Wolf   CHAPTER HUNDRED EIGHTEEN

Enya povHer words make sense, so do her intentions, but deep down, I'm hurt beyond repair. All my life, I've been nothing more than a puppet in someone's hands, and it was foolish of me to think that would stop. It wouldn't. Sooner or later, someone would find a way to use me as they pleased. The same as my newfound mother did.She can tell me she had only good intentions, but I heard what she said. I heard her claim that she wanted to hear those screams. To me, it sounds more like she desired revenge more than anything else. Maybe we'll get closer and learn to understand each other after a while, but I need time to get there."Vince, can you please walk me to the bedroom? I need some alone time," I don't look at my

  • Red Riding Hood Killed A Wolf   CHAPTER HUNDRED SEVENTEEN

Vincent povI accompany Melinda to the kitchen and show her where she can find anything to her liking. Like her daughter, she complains that she is allergic to basil, which makes sense. However, a few details confuse me, and I hope Melinda has the answers I'm seeking. "Melinda, can I ask you a few questions?" I turn to her, but I see half of her body peeking out from behind the refrigerator door. She closes the door and grins at me. Melinda's mouth is covered in frosting. Yeah, a true lady there. I roll my eyes, and my attitude doesn't go unnoticed. "Sure thing, Pussysaurus-Rex." She bursts out laughing. "Sorry, I couldn't resist the temptation to use that brilliant nickname. And don't look at me like that; I've been complaining about being hungry for weeks- my prayers have be

  • Red Riding Hood Killed A Wolf   CHAPTER HUNDRED SIXTEEN

Enya povMy hands tremble, my grip on Vince's hand tightens to the point where I feel him flinch in surprise. But a moment later, I push my mate away from me and free myself from his grip. Step by step, I move closer to his cell. Though Vince is doing his best to hold me back, there will be no end to the suffering of those who hurt me. Starting with the man who pretended to be my father."Vince, Melinda," I whisper, but apparently, I'm loud enough to get their attention. I can't look at my mother, nor can I address her as such. I have no right to do so- I killed the man she loved, I slaughtered my own father and spilt his blood like a pig. If anything, I have no right to be near her, so I cast my gaze to the dirty floor. "I need you both out of here. Please," my voice breaks and tears run down my cheeks as memories flood my mind. Both of the

  • Red Riding Hood Killed A Wolf   CHAPTER HUNDRED FIFTEEN

Vincent povMelinda hasn't changed a bit. She's still the same loving and bubbly personality I remember her to be.On our way to the packhouse, I keep throwing glances at Enya. She's visibly anxious, and while her mother keeps asking questions, the only moment my mate speaks up is to answer a question. She doesn't ask her own questions, though I know she has many. Perhaps in time, I'm sure Enya needs a moment or two to get used to the situation. After all, it's not every day that your dead mother comes back to life and appears in front of you. I couldn't blame Enya because I would react the same way. After a moment of awkward silence, Melinda turns her attention to me. "Vincent, how is your father? It's been a while since I last met Roma. Oh, and I'm sorry about your ste
