I had just gotten back to the pack house and was trying to catch my breath when I got a message. There was a loud knock at my door, and before I could say anything, a guard stuck his head in.

“Your Highness, Alpha Sirius and his group have just arrived at the gates.” the guard told me with a low bow. His voice was calm, but there was a hidden urgency in the way he spoke.

I pushed back my chair, the leather creaking under me. For years, I'd kept a calm face as the Alpha King, but something about Sirius' visit made me feel excited and nervous inside. I grabbed my jacket from the back of my chair and walked towards the door.

As I walked up the big steps of the pack house, I heard the loud engines of Sirius' cars. Black SUVs, a typical choice for a visiting leader, stopped on the driveway in front of the house.

The dark windows sparkled in the late afternoon sun, and after a moment, the doors opened at the same time. Men in suits got out - Sirius' second-in-command, some bodyguards, and f

George's POVWhen I saw her, it felt like all the air left the room, and I got really angry. Wendy Ashton, or Whitney Decodes as she calls herself now, stood at the entrance of the big hall, looking confident and bold. Her red dress fit her body tightly, showing just enough to be tempting, and the high slit was daring. She wasn't just being brave - she was trying to make an impression. I could sense it, like my instincts were warning me.I stayed calm - or at least tried to - in front of the important guests. Standing up from the fancy chair that looked like a throne, I said excuse me, and didn't hide my unhappy face. My voice was loud enough to be heard over the quiet talk, “Have fun at the party. I'll be back soon.”I walked down the stairs to where she was standing, her eyes fixed on me with a annoying smile on her face. She was already getting on my nerves. I reached her in a few big steps, and before she could say anything, I grabbed her wrist tightly, pulling her near. The surpr

George's POVAlpha Sirius sat across from me, his sharp eyes staring at my face. His voice was calm but serious, showing how important this was to him. I swirled the wine in my glass, pretending to be interested as he started talking about working together between his Moonlight Pack and my Shadow Fangs Pack.“My king.” Sirius said, choosing his words carefully, “if our packs work together, it would be a new start. The Moonlight Pack and Shadow Fangs would be the strongest team in the land. Think about combining our military power. Joining together is not just a good idea - it's going to happen.”He kept staring, but I didn't want to give him my full attention. I nodded, mostly to be polite, though my mind was only half-listening to what he said. Across the room, I saw Wendy sitting at a table. She was leaning her head towards Prince Derek, like he was telling her a really funny joke. Her laugh made me feel annoyed suddenly.“An alliance, huh?” I said distractedly, giving Sirius a quic

Wendy's POVThe room's happy chatter and laughter stopped as two soldiers came in, their uniforms perfect but their faces serious. Their boots tapped against the marble floor, a big difference from the gentle music of the strings playing in the corner. My eyes naturally went to them as they walked right up to George. He was standing near the main table, his big shoulders stiff, talking to a group of friends. The soldiers bent in, said something to him, and I saw the quick flash of anger on his face.George's jaw clenched, his lips forming a tight line. He stopped for just a moment before walking quickly over to Sirius, the Alpha of the Moonlight Pack. I saw George lean in to whisper to Sirius, but their conversation was too quiet to understand. Sirius nodded once, his face showing no emotion, before George turned around and left with the soldiers.“Is everything okay?” Derek's voice brought me back to the table where I sat next to him. His handsome face was calm, but I saw a hint of c

Wendy’s Point of ViewThe voices started quietly, like a gentle breeze in my ear. But as I focused on listening, they got clearer, and I could tell they were urgent - and private. My whole body tensed up. I'd learned a lot since entering this area, but this was different. Something made me think this was important. My gut feelings are usually right.Slowly, I bent down, the cool night air touching me. I stayed in the dark as I moved closer, making sure nobody saw me. The quiet talking was coming from behind the flowers, where big groups of wild roses blocked the view. I stood on my toes, breathing quietly and lightly as I held the small knife in my belt tightly. I wasn't going to let my guard down when Alpha Sirius was around.Looking around a low branch, I stopped. Two men were in the open area, their formal clothes showing they were Moonlight Pack guards. Guards who had taken Alpha Sirius into this area. My stomach got nervous. What was Sirius doing here, away from home, and so late

Wendy’s POVI fixed the strap of my bag on my shoulder and took one last look at the house, which made me let out a deep breath. My foot was ready to take the first step away when I heard the sound of a car's tires scraping against the gravel. I stopped moving, my eyes squinting. It was George's car. His shiny black car stopped suddenly at the entrance, like an angry animal, and I could feel his intense energy from where I was standing. The car door shut really loud and the sound went through the whole area. George, or I should say, His Highness, got out and he was clearly very angry, his face all tense, his eyes looked even darker than normal, and he stared right at me like he was about to attack.Without saying hello, his voice broke the silence. “What did you do, Wendy?”My mouth opened, but I knew to wait - his anger needed calm, and my feeling told me to stay calm too. It wasn't mad I saw in him, it was fear hidden behind his angry face. He trusted me more than anyone, even if he

Wendy's POVI stepped further into the room, feeling the heavy silence weighing me down. My eyes fixed on Rosina. Now, she looked... different. Her messy hair, dirty face, and quick movements made her seem wild and on edge, like she was searching for something. Her big, surprised eyes looked at me, but the shock only lasted a moment. Then, like a switch had been flipped, her face changed, twisting into a scowl. Under her breath, I could almost hear the disgust pouring out of her like poison. Anger. It came off her in waves, filling the room like a separate thing that wanted notice.“Wendy.” she said angrily, standing up straight to scare me. “What are you doing here?”I didn’t react, though her harsh words were meant to hurt. I was no longer the weak person she could bully. Calmly, I looked around the room—taking my time to let the awkwardness build between us. The mess was clear. Furniture was out of place. Drawers were open. Papers were scattered everywhere. It looked like someone h

George's POV Alpha Sirius stood across from me, his smug smile a nasty reminder of how sneaky he was. He seemed friendly, but I wasn't fooled. Wendy's warning kept playing in my head Something isn't right. I crossed my arms and stared at Sirius, feeling very aware. His pack's reps were in the crowd, trying to fit in, but I could tell they were nervous. Then I felt something new - a connection in my mind that felt like a door unlocking. My head jerked, and I was shocked for a moment, and then I heard her voice. George? It was Wendy. Her voice, soft and strained, was clear in my mind. I was surprised by how strong our mental connection was. It had been years since we last had one - years since we weren't together. Next to me, one of my soldiers soldiers, saw my reaction and tensed up, his hand going to his gun. I heard the worried whispers of the others, cautious talk spreading among them. For a moment, I saw their hands moving towards their guns, suspicious of Sirius, not me. “Bac

George's POVWendy. That name kept popping up in my mind, even when I tried to forget it. Now, as I walked through the busy halls of the Shadow Fang Pack's hospital, it wasn't just her name I couldn't stop thinking about, but her voice. The way she used our mental connection was disturbing. It didn't feel right. Not after everything we'd been through. That bond between us shouldn't be there anymore. And yet, it was.The door to the sick room creaked as I opened it. My eyes found her right away. Wendy sat on the edge of a plain white bed, her right arm still as a nurse put a cool cream on her hurt shoulder. She didn't move when the nurse touched her, even though the burn marks from the wolvesbane were deep in her skin. Her long hair was pulled back, her familiar green eyes far away, hiding the pain she felt.“Your Highness.” the healer said respectfully, stepping back as soon as she saw me standing there.“Is she okay?” I asked, still looking at Wendy.“She’ll get better, but the burn—

Chapter 164George's POV The hall was bright and all. I saw familiar faces, they were l smiling at me but all that really mattered at the moment was Wendy.Wendy. My Luna. My wife. The elders stood in front of her, their expressions a mixture of both respect and reverence. One of the elders Elder Marcus, cleared his throat. "Wendy Ashton, do you accept this position as Luna, to stand by Alpha George and lead the pack with wisdom and strength?"Her gaze shifted toward me for a brief second. That smile — soft, knowing — calmed something deep inside me."I accept," she said, her voice breaking but it remained a bit steady.A low ritualistic howl sounded across the pack as they welcomed their Luna, I walked closer to her, taking her hands in mine, they were so soft."You’re finally mine," I whispered to her.She smiled. "And you’re finally mine."I leaned down, brushing my lips slightly against hers. The hall erupted in cheers. But the celebration wasn’t just for Wendy’s coronation. The

Chapter 163The courtyard was dangerously silent. It was the day the evil shall be rewarded. Gerald, Brittany, Rosina and Edward. They knelt side by side, their hands tied to their backs as they looked like criminals. They all had spiteful looks, befitting each other. Criminals, aren't they? That's what they were and they're taking their punishment.George wasn’t there. He didn’t need to be. Neither did Wendy. They had already won. What will they gain in watching the disgraceful sight?.Elder Mikhail stood there in front of them. His white hair cascading gorgeously on his shoulders. His robe's rope dangled just above the floor. He looked at them with disgust, before he started his judgement.“Gerald. Edward.” His voice was sharp, cutting through the silence like a knife cut through bread. “You have been found guilty of conspiracy against the… Alpha and the pack. You plotted to destabilize our leadership, and in doing so, you endangered not only the pack’s unity but its very survival.

George's POV.After she had pecked me goodbye, I stood outside watching her sit back down on the couch, pulling the curtains as I told her to.I wanted to go, but my legs seemed to be stuck on the floor.I should leave.I hopped in my car, looking at the distant house in my front before I turned the car on.I already bid her goodnight, made sure she was safe. But why did I feel this tightness in my chest?I ran a hand through my hair, exhaling, shakily and…sharply. I could go back in. Stay the night. Make sure she’s safe. But I knew Wendy would call me paranoid. She’d tell me that it was over, that we could move on.Still, something not so comforting gnawed at me.Maybe I was imagining it — the feeling that someone was watching us, the unease burning in my gut. But the thought of leaving her alone tonight made my wolf shout inside uneasily. My phone buzzed in my pocket. I pulled it out, seeing a message from Liam.“Everything’s secured. Gerald’s not getting out of this one.”I sighed.

Chapter 161Wendy’s POVThe room felt colder after Ryan left the room. His words echoed in my head, tightening my chest until it hurt badly."Because Edward always wins."George stood still, his fists clenched beside him, his face was pale, tight with a quiet, almost dangerous rage.My hand touched his arm. “George?”His jaw is tight. “I should’ve known.”“You couldn’t have.”He shook his head. “Ryan’s been in this from the start. He’s been feeding Edward information this whole time.” His lips curled darkly. “And we trusted him.”I swallowed hard. “What do you think is going to happen?”George’s gaze was immediately darkened. “I will find Gerald before he makes his next move.”The door swung open. A guard stood at attention, breathless. “Sir—”“What?” George’s voice was sharp.“They got him.”My breath caught. “Gerald?”The guard nodded. “We just received word. He was tracked to a private airstrip. Our team tracked him before he could leave the country. He’s back in custody.”Relief

Chapter 160George’s POVThe day started too perfect. It left a weird kind of feeling in the deep part of my stomach.Wendy was in the kitchen, checking the fridge for what she could make. “Do you want eggs or pancakes?” she called.“Both.”She rolled her eyes, smiling. “Greedy.”I stretched out on the soft couch, my arms behind my head. “You love it.”Her lips curved. “Yeah. I guess I do.”My phone buzzed on the table. I ignored it. But it buzzed again. And again.Wendy shot me a look. “You gonna get that?”“Nope.”But it wouldn’t stop. Sighing, I grabbed it. Unknown number. Weird. I almost let it go to voicemail, but something made me answer.“Yeah?”“George.” A voice I hadn’t heard in years. Cold. Amused. Twisted.Edward.My whole body tensed. “What do you want?”“Just checking in,” he said lightly. “It’s been too quiet, don’t you think?”My jaw clenched. “Stay the hell away from us.”He laughed. “Oh, George. You know that’s not how this works.”Click.The line went dead.My ha

George's POVI woke up to sunlight stabbing me right in the eyes. Annoying as hell. I groaned then turned my head, but I immediately felt it , her soft skin under my arm, warm breath on my chest.Wendy.She curled into me, her face was pressed against my chest. Her hair was a mess, it was all over the pillow and my shoulder. I could feel her breath, it was soft and even, against my skin. My arm tightened around her waist.I wasn’t dreaming, right? My eyes opened the more, adjusting to the light. No, I'm not dreaming. She was real. And she's here. Her lashes fluttered, then her eyes opened — those brown eyes that always made my chest feel tight. She blinked but sleepily.“Mornin’,” I said, my voice was rough. She made a small noise, her face scrunching up like she was annoyed I even spoke.“Too early,” she mumbled. “It's…too…early.”I grinned. “It’s almost noon, ma'am,” “When do you plan to wake?”“Too early,” she repeated again, her hand slid up my chest and it rested there, her

George's POVI walked out of Wendy’s apartment, my heart beating hard. Too hard. I could even hear the sound in my ears. For the first time since everything happened, I felt hope. Real hope. She didn’t say yes completely. But she didn’t say no too. That was enough for me.Her words kept coming back to me as I stepped into the night air. What if I really leave everything behind?I grinned, from ear to ear, shaking my head. I will wait. As long as there’s one small chance, I will wait.I entered my car and started driving. The road was quiet. Only the streetlights and the sound of the engine. My phone buzzed on the seat beside me. I reached for it, my eyes looking at the screen. It was my spy.I sighed and picked it up. "What?""There’s movement," the voice said. "Edward is restless. Something big is happening tonight."My jaw tightened. "Watch him. Let me know if anything changes."I ended the call and threw the phone down. Edward again. That bastard. He wasn’t going to ruin this. Not

Wendy's POV"I’ll be there."he had said.I wasn’t so sure. I wasn't sure of everything, yet all I want is stability, and I have only two options. I go on that trip that leads me to avoid George or I get back with him. But the hard part is, either of the options work well with me.But the second seems more bothering, now that I have his possession with me.I pressed a hand to my stomach. A life growing inside me. His life.My ringtone completely pulled me out of all my thoughts.I thought it was a call from George, but …It wasn’t.It was a call from an unknown number.I hesitated, then answered. "Hello?"Silence.A knock sounded at the door. It must be George, but can I take risks?.I stiffened. "Who is it?""It’s me," George’s voice came through.I hesitated, then stood and opened the door.I inhaled a soft breath, it was George."Can I come in?" he asked.I stepped aside, letting him pass. Wendy's POVI sat on the edge of my bed, the pregnancy test still sitting on the bathroom counter. Two pink lines. Positive. The result kept flashing in my mind, over and over again, until it felt like it was carved into my skull.Pregnant.My hand drifted toward my stomach. A life—George’s child—growing inside me. I should have been freaking out more, panicking, but instead, I felt… numb.No part of me regretted it. Not really. But the weight of what this meant… that was the part I wasn’t ready to face yet.How was I supposed to tell George? Or was I even going to tell him at all?My phone buzzed beside me. I glanced at the screen. A message from George.George: Are you okay? Wendy, answer me.I sighed and tossed the phone aside. He wasn’t going to let this go. I know how relentless George can be especially when he suspects that something might be happening.I rested my head back on the bed, nothing was running through my mind. I stared at the ceiling, trying to know what to think f
