Chapter 2 Life-saving Grace

LORAINE’S POV

My whole body trembled as I felt his hand playfully playing with my chest. I gritted my teeth and sobbed as I helplessly begged him to stop, but it seemed like he was deaf and couldn’t hear my pleas. His two other friends were laughing at me and even teased that when the guy who was on top of me finished what he was doing, it would be their turn to pleasure me.

It was honestly disgusting.

Just when I thought that I had already lost hope, when suddenly, a warm liquid had splashed on my face and my body. There was a weight on top of me that made me grunt as I felt my bones crack.

When I looked up, I saw the other two who were laughing earlier and making fun of me and paled, and their expressions were horrible.

“Wow Kevin, did you just dare to defy the order of the Alpha King and even try to gang rape a woman here?”

When I raised my head and looked up, I saw a man who was slightly slimmer than these three bulky guys, yet his hands were dripping with blood.

It was then I realize that it was him who killed the guy who tried to rape me earlier, and now he was on top of me, not breathing anymore.

I know that I should be scared, given that this man could easily kill the burly guy who suppressed me earlier, yet why do I feel relieved instead?

Anyway, at least, if I’m going to die, I’m going to die without being forced to have sex with those disgusting men.

“T-This is just a misunderstanding, Second-In-Command Beta Kavier! W-We were planning on sending these goods to the Alpha King!” The man who had suppressed my arms earlier had said with a polite tone and his voice was filled with respect and fear.

It seemed that this man who just killed the man on top of me, was their Alpha King’s right hand.

Beta Kavier let out a cold laugh as he kicked the dead body on top of me as if he was just dusting off my body. He didn’t even glance at me, rather he coldly looked at the two quivering thugs who had lost their tails.

“Goods? All the goods that you sent to please the Alpha King had enraged him instead. He ordered us to kill those who sent him those “goods” that you were talking about.” Beta Kavier said with a mocking tone as he pointed his sharp sword at them.

“Any last words?” He asked, but before those two men could plead for mercy, Beta Kavier had ruthlessly sliced off their necks, letting their heads roll onto the ground.

I bit my lower lip and closed my eyes and tried to minimize my presence. I didn’t even dare to breathe lightly for fear of being noticed by him, and it would be my turn to be beheaded next.

However, contrary to my expectations, he looked at me and pointed his sharp sword that was dripping with blood from killing those thugs, and coldly asked, “Why didn’t you resist?”

My breath hitched, and I didn’t even dare to look at him in the eyes. “T… They were stronger than me…”

“If they were stronger than you, then make yourself stronger than them,” he said. However, after he said those words, he irritatingly messed up his hair and looked at me again. “However, you won’t have any chance of getting stronger than them.”

I think I get what he was trying to say.

I smiled bitterly as I nodded my head at him. “O-Okay… you can kill me.”

Anyway, I don’t have much will to live anyway. My only reason to live and the reason why I hold on up until this day when it is very easy to die, was my parents. But now that they don’t want me anymore, is there a reason to survive in this world?

Beta Kavier looked at me for a second before he let out a heavy sigh. “I’ll help you live.”

I looked at him in shock.

Why?

Before I could ask him, he had already given me the answer. “Don’t think too much. You remind me of my sister. She would probably be the same age as you if she was alive.”

I looked at him in the eyes and let out a bitter laugh. “You want me to be the Alpha King’s sex slave?”

Beta Kavier sneered. “You don’t meet the requirements, and you would not only end up being killed by the Alpha King, but also his fiancée.”

Fiancée? If he already has a fiancée, then why do they send “goods” to him? But I didn’t ask too much about it, since it has nothing to do with me anyway.

Besides, aren’t I come from their fallen enemy whom they have defeated? In what position do I have to ask him about the Alpha King?

“What do you want me to do?” I asked while breathing heavily. I can’t even bring myself to lift my hands anymore.

I’m utterly tired. I’m starving. I’m thirsty. I felt uncomfortable. I don’t want to think about anything anymore.

I saw him lower his head towards the side of my face and ambiguously whispered the following words in my ear.

“Well… work for me to bring down the Alpha King, and I’ll help you be free along with your parents.”

I looked at him in surprise.

Bring down the Alpha King?

Isn’t he the Alpha King’s right hand?

It seemed that he was able to see through my thoughts. He let out a chuckle and patted my cheeks and forcibly peered my mouth open and poured a black liquid inside.

My eyes widened when I realize something, and I was about to spit it out, but he covered my mouth and forced me to swallow it.

Beta Kavier looked at me with a smile on his lips but his eyes this time were as sharp as knives. “Your life is mine. If I want you to live, you will live. If I want you to die, you will die along with your parents.”

I looked at him in horror. “Y-You planned this for a long time.”

Beta Kavier laughed. “Of course, I have been planning for this for a long time now, Princess Loraine Foxx, the beloved daughter of the previous Alpha King.”

“H-How-“

“It’s a pleasure to work with you and bring down the current Alpha King who killed your previous family.” Beta Kavier said with a smile on his lips.

My body trembled as I shook my head and was throbbing. “I have no idea what you are talking about!”

“Oh, it’s fine if you can’t remember. But your life is in my hands now and so, in the hands of your adoptive parents. If you dare to betray me, you know what will happen to them.”
