I hummed, sitting on the floor in front of the full-length mirror and blow-drying my wet hair. I felt so refreshed now after having my bath and brushing my teeth. I felt this urge to go check on Austin, but I decided to stay back with the feeling it might be too early to do that. It hasn't been up to thirty minutes since I left him to freshen up.

So I’ll go over later to check on him. As of now, I think it's best I use this short period that I have to have a little rest. However, the time I spent with him and the conversation we had was quite intriguing. It was sad as well, but he's a really strong kid for pulling through all of that.

I kept the blow-dryer aside after my hair was completely dried, picking up the headband on my lap to help hold my hair in place. It looked really good on me and I'm starting to think I look prettier with my hair down than when I have it tied up in a ponytail.

“Okay, all set and done” I got up from the floor, feeling extremely satisfied with my look, and

“What? Gordon fell sick?” My eyes popped wide in shock, listening to Hunter explain to me that Gordon suddenly fell ill overnight without warning. It seemed like a joke at first, knowing Gordon to be a tough kind of person. He always acted like it, so how come he fell sick now? He's probably in bed whining like a baby right now. I don't think he's still acting like the tough guy. “Yeah, he suddenly fell sick. I don't know what's wrong with him, but he's not getting any better, he's feeling too weak to even stand. Is there anything that you think you can do?” Hunter ran his hand through his hair and I became worried, taking him seriously.Wait, Gordon fell sick for real?“What?, Who? Me?” I swallowed hard at first when Hunter dropped that question, asking if there was anything I could do regarding Gordon's health condition. I'm going to tell the truth now, I don't know what to do about it. I thought he was going to mention Michelle and not me, I'm not capable of the job. I think I h

“Aah!” I let out a scream of panic, finding out just now that Gordon was poisoned and grabbing my head. How in the world did this happen? I took my hands off my trembling mouth, slowly moving away from the bed until I almost tripped on something. What should I do? Hunter, right, Hunter! He should know that Gordon wasn't sick but poisoned! I ran to the door without thinking twice but quickly returned to my senses when I realized that Hunter wasn't nearby. He left earlier to join the others in finding Michelle. He should do that actually because this is one of the worst cases to ever happen to me and I don't know what to do about it. Poison? How the hell do I take care of this? How quickly did it go from treating ordinary wounds to now treating poison? Where do I even start? “God, what should I do? What should I do?” I kept panicking, going from slapping the top of my face to tugging at my hair. Then I rushed back to the bed to first take the blanket off Gordon. I don't think

I grabbed the vase from the window and the herbal life book on the bed and made my way out of the room immediately. There's no time to waste, I've got to get to Gordon right away. I hope he hasn't given up yet, let him keep fighting the poison, I'm on my way. ****“Gordon” I called, carefully dropping the vase on the floor close to the bed, so I don't break it while I kept the herbal life book on the nightstand beside the bed, to check how he was doing. “You should be getting better, not worse” I took the towel off his head and tossed it aside, as it didn't help in bringing the fever down one bit. It got worse to be precise. “I'll heal you, don't worry” I cupped his cheek in my palms before opening his eyes to check them. It was still purple, but looking worse than when I left him a couple of minutes ago to go find a cure for the poison. So I guess I should hurry up, this poison doesn't seem so friendly. The veins in his arms were still purple as well. I quickly reached for the h

I even saw Leah, we were both in the garden in the Packhouse, which I made in memory of her passing away and she was talking directly to me as if she was still alive.“Leah?” I called with my hand out, trying to reach her but then something like an invisible force field suddenly appeared out of nowhere, blocking me from reaching her. I was literally minutes away from reaching her before the forcefield appeared. Damn it! “No, Gordon, you can't get to me,” She said to me and I was so happy to hear her voice. She could speak to me and I could speak to her too.“Why?, I just want to touch you” I hit on the force field, trying to break it but it was too strong enough.“No, you cannot get to me, if you do, then you can't go back home, She said, her voice sounding like echoes. It was so unreal that it felt like we were both almost in another world. “Wha…what are you talking about? I'm standing right here w

Kimberly's Pov I woke up yawning and was about stretching myself when I was given this strong kick on the back and I fell hard from on top of the bed. “Ouch!” I yelled out in pain on the floor, holding my waist and grabbing the bed to get up to my feet, but the same person who had kicked me out of the bed slapped my hand too, forcing me to get it off the bed. “Don’t lay your filthy hands on the place that I sleep” I heard a voice sternly warn from on top of the bed as I was still struggling to stand while holding my waist. I think I broke a bone in my ass when I was kicked out of the bed like a mistreated orphan. I wonder who would dare to kick me out of my bed that way. They should say that last prayer because they are dead when I get them. “Gordon, you are awake?...” I paused abruptly, staring at him in shock and halfway from jumping on top of the person in an attack when I realized that it was Gordon. “Yes, I'm awake. What the hell were you doing on my bed?” He questio

I stayed outside, waiting for Hunter and Gordon to be done discussing so I could go back inside and grab the herbal life book, along with the herb, which I used in healing someone grateful enough to show appreciation by kicking me out of bed. I almost died when he shot me down from the bed like I was a football. I mean he didn't even stop for a second to consider the fact that I could have gotten hurt. Anyway, It's Gordon that I'm talking about here, what was I expecting? I wanted to talk to him about it when I got back inside the room, but I'm not going to bother about that again since I forgave him already, only because of what happened. For now, I urgently need to get inside the room to collect the herbal life book, and the herb to keep them back at Michelle's place before she gets back. I barged into her room earlier and took them without her permission and I don't think she's going to like the sound of that. However, it was a life-and-death situation, and I was only trying t

It seemed as if I was in a totally different world where Gordon suddenly changed into this better version of a person, still shocked at him thanking me for saving his life. I didn't expect any kind of appreciation from him, expecting him to rather feel entitled to the treatment with him claiming to be the one in charge of the pack. Hence when I heard those words come out of his mouth, I didn't know how to react to it at first. “Yo…you are welcome” I blinked repeatedly and stuttered as well, still trying to digest the fact that Gordon was suddenly acting like a nice person to me for once. So I took a step away from the bed to leave the room after receiving the book from him. This was starting to get a bit awkward for me. I’m even starting to think I might have liked the other version of Gordon than this one. This one was more scarier. “And I'm sorry for kicking you off the bed the way I did. I can act a little too fast sometimes without thinking” He scratched the back of his nec

I threw myself on the bed, feeling exhausted from everything that I went through that day. As it is now, I urgently needed a massage and a special treat to fill up my stomach. I just recalled that I hadn’t eaten anything since morning, being too busy here and there. I also just remembered that I still have to go check up on Austin. The herb’s healing water should have completely dried off from his skin a long time ago. I'm going to do that later because I could faint if I were to stand up right now to go see how he's doing. It has been quite a long and hectic day for me today, going from washing Austin's wounds to finding an antidote to neutralize the poison in Gordon's body, to dealing with a little bit of drama from Michelle as well. “Well, but there's got to be at least something that you want and I can go get it for you” I insisted on getting Hunter something. Though he's likely going to say no, not wanting me to go errands for him since I'm doing it because he can't do it himself. He's going to see it as if I'm doing if because I'm still blaming myself for what happened to him. However, I have no problem running errands for him. After all, he needs someone to tend to him.I just hope he doesn't ask to be taken to the toilet, that would be an impossible task.“Are you trying to run away from me?” Hunter dropped an awkward, unexpected question, leaving me to stare at him in awe. I was right beside him, why does he assume that I'm running away from him? I was only going to get him water or something to fill his stomach with.“Me, running away from you? How?” I was confused.“You are literally trying to stay away from me, that's why you keep coming up with all these excuses. I never told you that I was hungry or th

Why?” I didn't see that coming, so was taken by surprise when Michelle suddenly announced that Hunter wasn't going to be able to use his vision today or tomorrow. How cruel is that? It's literally a punishment! “Because it wouldn't wear off until tomorrow, by exactly the same time that this Anita or whatever you called her threw him that powdered substance in his eyes. I'm sorry, Hunter” Michelle apologized to Hunter, and walked away to put the torchlight back from where she had first gotten it. “I'll be right back,” I said to Hunter, letting him go to ask Michelle questions. There's got to be something that she can do to relief him of this situation. I can't eave Hunter lying helplessly like that. “I’m sorry, Michelle, but I don't understand, there's got to be som

I reached out to Hunter, touching him by the arm and he looked at me with hope the same way I looked at him. She's finally ready to talk after wasting enough time, which we would have likely used to have gotten to somewhere else by now.“Have a seat” Anita pointed at the chair, kept beside the wall a few metres away from the cell.

I think there's a punishment for when one refuses to accept an offer or a job brought to them by an Alpha, but I didn't care about that when I turned down the job from Gordon to be his personal healer. I mean for him to be the one to come down to my room himself to let me know he wanted me as his personal healer. I'm not able to tell now if it was just a job offer or if he was being desperate. To be sincere, I was tempted for a minute to accept the job but I felt better, rejecting it. I think accepting to be his personal healer has more to it than it sounded. He's literally going to turn me into a maid, yup, I think that's what was going to happen if I had said yes to him.I slammed the door shut after he left and was far gone so he wouldn't think I desposed him that much, with the way I slammed the door. “Be his personal healer?” I scoffed,“I think he must have been kidding” I moved away from the door and to the bed, where I sat and let out a deep breath.I clutched my chest and c

She turned around to see two fashionable young women walking over to her.The taller woman glanced at her and disdainfully asked, "You're Victoria Selwyn?"Since hostility was painted all over that woman's face, Victoria did not hold back and briskly shot back, "You are?""My name is not important. What is important is the fact that Claudia is back. If you're smart, you'll get away from Alaric."Victoria's pupils shrank in astonishment. It had been so long since she last heard that name. “Wow, what happened to you? I don't remember you being this romantic and also able to make those moves despite being blind” Skye teased, turning around as I spinned her again. This was our way of making up and I'm actually happy that she's playing along with it, and not wanting to argue further with me regarding my blindness.“Maybe, being blind isn't so bad after all since it turned me into Mr romantic” I winked at her and heard her giggle like a baby. “And I'm only blind, not paralyzed” I added, letting her know that.I don't know why everyone keeps thinking that I'm unable to move or do anything just because I'm blind. I can't believe I have to keep reminding them about that. Now, I can't wait for evening to come, so this can all end.
