"I told you, there is no one more important to Al than Claudia!"As they continued to tease, he glanced down and swiftly messaged Victoria.'I don't need the umbrella anymore. Head home first.'Victoria was puzzled when she received the message. 'Did something happen?' she messaged back. She stared down at her phone for a long time, but there was no reply.Perhaps he was really busy. She decided to head back first."Wait."Someone suddenly called out to her from behind. She turned around to see two fashionable young women walking over to her.The taller woman glanced at her and disdainfully asked, "You're Victoria Selwyn?"Since hostility was painted all over that woman's face, Victoria did not hold back and briskly shot back, "You are?""My name is not important. What is important is the fact that Claudia is back. If you're smart, you'll get away from Alaric."Victoria's pupils shrank in astonishment. It had been so long since she last heard that name. So much time had passed that...
I think there's a punishment for when one refuses to accept an offer or a job brought to them by an Alpha, but I didn't care about that when I turned down the job from Gordon to be his personal healer. I mean for him to be the one to come down to my room himself to let me know he wanted me as his personal healer. I'm not able to tell now if it was just a job offer or if he was being desperate. To be sincere, I was tempted for a minute to accept the job but I felt better, rejecting it. I think accepting to be his personal healer has more to it than it sounded. He's literally going to turn me into a maid, yup, I think that's what was going to happen if I had said yes to him.I slammed the door shut after he left and was far gone so he wouldn't think I desposed him that much, with the way I slammed the door. “Be his personal healer?” I scoffed,“I think he must have been kidding” I moved away from the door and to the bed, where I sat and let out a deep breath.I clutched my chest and c
“Ah, ah, ah, not so fast, tell us what we want to know first and the key would be yours” Hunter pulled the key away from her reach, but kept teasing her with it.Anita gave up after she couldn't reach the key, making a sad face.“So?” Hunter lifted a brow in question. “You just don't know when to give up, Hunter, do you?” She scoffed in disgust, crossing her arms across her chest and slowly moving backward, away from the gate.I looked at Hunter and he looked at me, then shifted his gaze back on Anita to say.“I will right after you tell me what I want to know” “Fine, if you insist, I might just say it then” Anita rolled her eyes, giving up and in to us. I reached out to Hunter, touching him by the arm and he looked at me with hope the same way I looked at him. She's finally ready to talk after wasting enough time, which we would have likely used to have gotten to somewhere else by now.“Have a seat” Anita pointed at the chair, kept beside the wall a few metres away from the cell.
“Oh God” I clutched my chest, letting out a deep breath of relief. I was holding in my breath and waiting for her to announce some bad news so I could pass out immediately. “But not for today or tomorrow” “What?! Why?” I didn't see that coming, so was taken by surprise when Michelle suddenly announced that Hunter wasn't going to be able to use his vision today or tomorrow. How cruel is that? It's literally a punishment! “Because it wouldn't wear off until tomorrow, by exactly the same time that this Anita or whatever you called her threw him that powdered substance in his eyes. I'm sorry, Hunter” Michelle apologized to Hunter, and walked away to put the torchlight back from where she had first gotten it. “I'll be right back,” I said to Hunter, letting him go to ask Michelle questions. There's got to be something that she can do to relief him of this situation. I can't eave Hunter lying helplessly like that. “I’m sorry, Michelle, but I don't understand, there's got to be som
Kimberly's Pov. “Alex?...” I stood at the door, still holding its handle, and was left completely shocked as Sabrina happened to be the one to first take notice of me barging into the room, and when my mate Alexander wanted to do the same. She forcefully grabbed him by the jaw, preventing him from looking at me, and then forced her lips on his. I felt my whole world turn around immediately and a violent surge of anger and jealousy ran through me at the same time. How dare she? And just like any other normal female would react when another female is messing with their mate. I did the same by walking up to Sabrina and landing the perfect eye-opening slap on her after she separated from Alexander. Smack! However, little did I know that I was actually going to get scolded by my mate for doing that. “Jesus, what the hell is wrong with you? Kimberly?!” He yelled, raising his voice at me for slapping Sabrina. I would have certainly done more than that like pulling all her hair
“Ouch! Sh*t!” I yelled when I dashed my big toe unintentionally against a stone, going through the woods to find refuge under the heavy rain pouring down tonight with my broken heart. Why does it always have to rain each time I'm having a bad day? I guess it's just me alone against the world. “God…” I sighed, finding out that I hurt my big toe when I dashed it against the stupid stone that just had to be in the way, and it was bleeding from the collision. I'm already having a very huge heartbreak tonight and that was the least worst thing that should have happened to me. “Aah!...” I stopped in the middle of the woods and screamed, feeling the pain hit me now. I don't know why it literally took seconds before I could feel it, it's probably because I'm in pain already. “Seriously, why me?...” I groaned and bent over to cry my eyes out, reaching down to check my big toe. It's a pretty good thing it's raining tonight, it’s going to help in washing off the tears of heartbreak aw
“The Alpha?...” My jaw dropped with a question after the strange male just made me know that his brother was the Alpha. It actually left me dumbfounded for a few seconds trying to figure something out and when I did, I gasped and swiftly headed for the window. “Hey, what are you doing? Be careful…” He said and tried to reach out to me after I fell to the floor, but got up immediately trying to reach for the window to look outside and find out where I was. “Oh my God, what is this place?” I asked, shocked while looking outside the window and seeing a large number of people working and some of them chatting. “Uhh…this is obviously a Packhouse, how long have you not been in one?” The male gave me a look of uncertainty, coming up to meet me at the window. He probably thinks that I've stayed out of a Pack for too long judging from the kind of question he asked. I mean I can't blame him for thinking that way since he found me passed out under the rain in the woods last night, and
I seriously cannot believe that I'm doing this. I mean agreeing to help heal someone else’s mate when I recently just lost mine last night, might be the most ridiculing and funny thing to happen to me right after the night that I got rejected. The universe must be happy to want to troll me again. Or maybe I can just let Hunter's mate die so he can feel exactly what I'm feeling. I'm not supposed to be the only one to suffer like this. Who knows? The hurt might likely reduce if I get to share the misfortune, right? I don't even know if I'm walking right into a trap following him. I mean they could be the poachers here and I was being lied to the whole time. Anyway, since I still don't have any chains on my hands or feet for now, I think I can trust him. “Well, aren't we there yet? “We are almost there, please be patient with me” “Well, I don't have all day, Hunter,” I said rudely and rolled my eyes as if I had any urgent place to be, following Hunter to take me to his inju

"How do I find the 'Ravened'? I don't even know where to start. I mean it's been 5 years since I left the council. I don't want anything to do with magic or the seed anymore. I don't even know the 'ravened'" Felix runs a hand on his head"."where on earth do I even start to find, I mean I gave up on magic years ago and now you appear on my doorstep telling me I have to find some 'Ravened' I don't even know. I have got a family now I don't need any danger near them" Felix said to freya, looking puzzled."The righteous seer Agnes gave a prophecy that another 'Ravened' lives but we don't know who the 'Ravened' is so I made up a lie in order to keep the Ravened safe wherever they were from the unrighteous, only the head and vice heads of the righteous witches council knows it's not a myth, the 'Ravened' is real it's a person but we don't know who"Freya blinks her eyes."That's why it is now up to you to find out who and keep them safe, the dark days are coming but…" She got cut short of w
"You have a fever?" His voice was gentle as he placed the back of a hand against her forehead. With his unexpected proximity, she jerked to the side. Nonetheless, he found humor in her response. "I'm only testing your temperature," he said.Dominic then turned around and pulled out a thermometer. "Let's get a reading of your temperature."Victoria accepted the thermometer."You know how to use it, right?" Alaric asked as he stood behind her.His question rendered her speechless. However, she chose to ignore him. What makes you believe I have no idea how to use a thermometer?Nevertheless, her movement was sluggish because she was so sick that her head spun.Once the thermometer was in place, Dominic told her to leave it there.Seeing that, Claudia seized the chance to introduce her friend to Alaric."Al, this is Dominic. I mentioned you to him before over the phone. He's an amazing doctor, but he loves his freedom so much that he decided to open a clinic instead when he returned. Domi
Still, she did not question it too much and asked the Cadogans' family driver to send her to the country club."You may head back first," she said to the driver upon arrival."Do I not need to wait for you, Mrs. Cadogan?"She paused for a moment before shaking her head. "It's fine. I'll wait to head home with Alaric."Since she was here for him, she would head home with him. With that, Carter, the driver, soon drove off.The rain had started as a drizzle, but it was now a heavy storm. With the umbrella held over her head, she walked to the entrance of the country club.It was a luxuriously decorated golf club. She was stopped at the door."I'm sorry, miss, but please show me your member card," the employee said. She took a moment to think about her next action before finally messaging Alaric.'I'm here. When are you done with work? I'll be waiting for you downstairs.'Once she was done, she stood near the entrance with the umbrella. As she stared at the rain, she thought about the pre
“Wow, what happened to you? I don't remember you being this romantic and also able to make those moves despite being blind” Skye teased, turning around as I spinned her again. This was our way of making up and I'm actually happy that she's playing along with it, and not wanting to argue further with me regarding my blindness.“Maybe, being blind isn't so bad after all since it turned me into Mr romantic” I winked at her and heard her giggle like a baby. “And I'm only blind, not paralyzed” I added, letting her know that.I don't know why everyone keeps thinking that I'm unable to move or do anything just because I'm blind. I can't believe I have to keep reminding them about that. Now, I can't wait for evening to come, so this can all end. She suddenly stopped dancing along with me, pausing to say. “I'm so sorry I didn't come to see you first when I arrived. I went over to see Kimberly, we had a little issue before I left with Luna and I went to fix that problem with her. I could hav
“I never doubted her in the first place, Hunter. I was only scared for you” I began to head back for the bed with a relived heart, seeing that Hunter's able to see again. “You are kind of making it sound like I was never going to recover from that. Duh, it's me, Kimberly. It's Hunter, I've survived worse. There's no way I wasn't going to get my vision back, this was just a mere phase which has passed” Hunter waved dismissively without him understanding my point just like he did in the morning too. But I'm not bringing that up again. “So, you've met with Skye?” I asked about Skye, changing the topic. “Yeah, about a couple of hours ago. It's actually crazy how they were going to be back today and they didn't mention it to anyone. I would have totally preferred it if they had stayed a few more days, I didn't want her to see me blind” Hunter pouted, coming to sit beside me on the bed. “Susan came over earlier to thank me for saving your brother's life. I don't think any of them wante
