As preparation for this whole week, the mini-hotel behind the school's auditorium, which was usually used by senior high students of the Hotel Management strand, had been meticulously cleaned and decorated to serve as resting place for important personalities. Invited celebrities and some visiting politicians mostly stayed there. However, for this night, pageant judges had been allowed inside. The pageant had successfully ended. What would take place after the crowning ceremony would be the various performances of different artists. There was a transition in between though, as there were many props that had to prepare for the upcoming shows. Because of this, the emcee announced a break, encouraging the remaining audience to grab something to eat while waiting.
Maurice used her privilege as a judge to access the mini-hotel. She went to the powder room to retouch. A few ladies there couldn't resist looking at the girl due to her striking appearance. Th
"You know what?"Maurice once again gave her junior a teasing smile."I'm sure you're thinking that Christine is killed by her mother,"she temporarily paused to properly watch the surprise that crossed Misty's eyes."I'm also guessing the reason you came up with... is that she has been driven man by the fact that her husband and daughter are making babies behind her back!"Once again, Agatha's best friend looked dumbfounded at the giggling girl. She began shaking her head after. As she couldn't believe that someone else managed to know what she had investigated, her mouth subconsciously opened to ask,"How... did you know?"The playful glint in Maurice's eyes did not lessen even though she could hear a set of urgent footsteps nearing the place. She did turn her eyes to the direction of the door though, eager to see the person she was really targeting to emerge there. Maurice played with the ends of her hair using her fi
Maurice folded her arms under her chests and condescendingly stared at Agatha Moore. A second later, a black bean-size thing materialized in front which Maurice swiftly grabbed and threw at the silver dressed girl. Agatha's enhanced physique allowed her to catch the bugging device, even so, she slightly winced due to the sharp pain in her palm.Alarmed, she asked the system,'How high is her strength stat?' She received an annoying reply though. It was the system's refusal to calculate due to the ban. Agatha temporarily ignored the pain and met Maurice's eyes. She was still standing at the same spot while the other was walking towards her. No, the other was seemingly wanting to leave as Maurice had passed her by. Not without saying to her though,"I just recently knew of your existence. And I actually don't mind letting you stay here even if you have almost slapped my underling to death. However, when I discovered that you pl
After the event of that night transpired, nothing else worth a mentioned happened at the School Fest. Maurice was now back to her favorite quarters; the Red Room. The very place where most likely than not, her every victim met their early demise. If it was not used for that purpose, then this was where she would conduct her other 'business'. It was always either one or the other."The first flaw is stupidity." "Second is impulsiveness." "Third is letting people know how obviously she cares for others, thus giving away her weaknesses." "If a person like that can't be called dumb, then what? Brain-dead?" Maurice chuckled merrily as she conversed with the system. When the people around her noticed her good mood, they all turned to her with shocked and frightened faces as it was common knowledge among them that Maurice was the most dangerous whenever she was like this. Seven out of ten chan
A young man wearing a white long-sleeved polo with ends tucked into a black pair of slacks marched his black and heeled shoes into the dining hall. The place was gorgeously decorated and even the intricately patterned wooden chairs looked to be something with history on it. The ambiance of the room was screaming 'old rich' to everyone coming into the Baroque styled mansion. Unfortunately, none of the place's grandeur or the pleasantness of the host's smile could erase the scowl in the young man's face. In fact, the creases on his forehead deepened when he saw a person he didn't want to see."Young man, you're finally here."The one that greeted Paul was a dignified fifty-three years old man sitting comfortably on the seat at one end of the long table. The gorgeously dressed woman seated on the middle-aged man's right side immediately followed up with a greeting, but Paul did not even spare her a glance. He merely walked to his uncle's side. In an emotionl
After getting home and dealing with the palm wound she got from that violent woman, Agatha changed her dress into a more comfortable set of clothes and then spent the rest of the time thinking about everything that happened. Paul was still not around. He had attended a meeting or whatever ceremony at Aurora City so she was all alone in the unit, left to her own devices. Right now, in their bedroom, she was sitting with folded arms in front of the computer. Her pretty face was not looking good as there were just too many things weighing in her mind. There were many problems to consider. The first one was how the other party knew so much about her yet her information about the other was almost next to nothing. At first, the only worry she had when she learned of this shop-ban punishment was not being able to cure her eyes before its commencement. This was why when the hastily done operation finished with some time to spare for the system's healing assistance, she already sighed in relie
Agatha took a deep breath, her head subconsciously turned to the bed's direction. It was as if she saw Paul's figure there and suddenly she remembered how she vowed to make herself stronger and useful. She could no longer be weak. At least, she must do her best not to appear distressed as she did earlier. The system had already been bound to her for more than two months, yet she hadn't fully explored its potential. Her reason for this had always been her reluctance to sink deeper into the dark water of immorality. But now that she had sunk deeper into this water, and could only let herself sink more to protect herself and the people around her, it seemed she would have to finally get rid of the restriction she imposed on herself in order to become stronger. Of course, she would set some bottom lines in order to not totally blacken. For example, never involve the innocent. To survive against the system and the other hosts, only do the minimum things needed. Needless to say, she wonder
When the Saturday sun finally dawned upon the Earth, Agatha went back home as her man's assistant finally sent the report. Sadly, on it, there's no information about Maurice's involvement with the mafia. No records also of contact with high ranking politicians or businessmen. Nothing about her family. No records with the police as well. In other words, Paul's people found no substantial intel she could use against Maurice Jensen. If Agatha would say that she was not quite devastated, she would be lying to herself and the system. Fortunately, she had also expected this to happen, and so the frustration was not much. When she contacted Dylan's team for help, she was only thinking that 'maybe' they would find something. It seemed Maurice was very careful though. She rubbed the place between her eyebrows while reading the remaining pages. When she finished, the only useful thing she found out was Maurice's mysterious appearance more than one year ago and her sudden rise to prominence. I
The bits of lessons she had in her free time about etiquette and the world of the rich finally came to use a day later. It was on Sunday, at 7 pm. The wide and spacious hall of the Silver's family mansion was lavishly decorated and varieties of food and wine were served to the guests. On the left part of the raised platform in front, a famous male pianist was filling the place with pleasant classical music hence making the hall lively yet still sophisticated. Every person inside was dressed in expensive suits or gowns and none of them looked common or average people. With their accessories and branded items on their bodies, all of them really seemed like celebrities or members of the high society.Agatha couldn't tell if it was because the Silver couple had yet to formally announce the start of the gathering, but she hardly saw anyone staying in one place. People kept roaming around with smiles on their faces and champagne flutes on their hands. Everyone seemed to be changing conversa
