The loud sound of the alarm resonated across her small room. Her eyes flew open. What was happening? This was her room. Was that all a dream? She sat up and picked up her phone to stop the alarm while still trying to make sense of everything. All the blood almost drained from her when she caught sight of what the day was.
"April 5, 2018? Am I dreaming? Is something wrong with my phone?" She rushed to check her calendar. It was that of 2018. She stumbled, perplexed. She slapped herself across the face. "Ah!" She felt the pain. It was real. She really wasn't dreaming. Then what was going on? Wait… she was reborn? 2018. That was a year ago. Her incredulousness slowly transformed into happiness. She had been given another chance. Another chance to make things right. She was as happy as a lark, and she began to laugh out loud. There was a harsh knock on her door. "What do you want?" She said coldly to the servant. She was surprised. Lily wasn't usually like this. Always meek and docile. She cleared her throat. "Master said you should come down for breakfast" "Okay" she said and slammed the door shut. She walked down the stairs, staring at the three on the breakfast table. She scoffed. How fitting! They look just like the perfect family. "Good morning Dad" she said, ignoring the two snakes glaring at her. He replied with a 'hm'. "You should get ready after breakfast. We're leaving early" her Dad said. She was befuddled. "Is there anything special today?" "How could you forget? Today is your sister's birthday" Rupert replied coldly. Lily's eyes narrowed into slits. 5th of April. She remembered now. In her past life, her father had thrown a large party for his daughter's birthday in a five-star hotel. That was when everything went wrong. She made a fool of herself before the press, and lost her virginity! She knew she was set up by Marie, but had no evidence to back it up. Her father wasn't going to believe her. Marie was the best daughter and wasn't capable of such. Perfect. Lily, this is your chance. "Oh my!" She exclaimed falsely. "How could I forget such an important event? Happy birthday" she said with a wide smile, shocking everyone at the table. It was no news that Lily disliked her sister. Marie plastered a sweet smile on her face. "Thank you, Sister" After dinner, she had gone to her room to put on her dress when a knock sounded again. This time, it was Marie. "I wanted to give you this. You could wear it for my party. I have something similar. I doubt you have something this good" Lily received the package. She opened it. They were heels, just as she had expected. She remembered that she fell down during the party, a part of her dress tore as a result of the fall. She had embarrassed herself before the press and her father's business associate. She had even been set up by her vixen of a sister. She had received a hard slap from her father and had denied her food for five good days. All because of these damned heels Marie gave her. She had foolishly worn it in her past life, but now? History was not going to repeat itself. She smirked secretly. "I will wear this. Thank you" She stood before the mirror. She had chosen a provocative red dress on purpose. It hugged her curves tightly. Her makeup was smoky too. Her full, long hair was tied I'm an amazing bun. The last time, she had taken a random dress from her closet, afraid that they will accuse her of trying to outshine the celebrant. She hated attention, but needed it this time. She smiled at her reflection in the mirror. It's showtime! She left the room, realizing they had left without her. She didn't care. The servants raised a brow at her dress. She designed it herself. Her small team made it. "What are you staring at? Shouldn't you get back to work?" She asked coldly. They were all shocked. One of the blabber mouthed girls, who could not take it, spoke up. "Who are you to order us around?" Lily chuckled, walking up to the fearless girl. Without any warning, her palm came down on her cheek. Everyone gasped. "You—" "That will teach you to respect me. That applies to all of you. I am still your young mistress, remember?" Her eyes turned cold as she walked away, leaving the servants wondering what changed. She was normal just yesterday. Lily strutted off. This was just the beginning. She wasn't going to be treated as a pushover in her house. Not even her father will be able to. She boarded a cab to the hotel. She recalled the party was to take place in hall 5. She yanked the door open and naturally, it brought the attention towards her. "Wow! Who is that?" "She is so pretty" Cameras were flashing, almost blinding her, but she maintained a smile, widening it even more as the men turned beet red. Marie was hopping mad. This was her party and should not be outshone by anyone. She was in a white ball gown and heavy make - up, but was still nowhere near Lily's beauty. The dress outlined her curves perfectly. The expression on her father's face showed he wasn't happy. Silvia looked like she could swallow her whole. Marie's eyes went to her legs. Perfect. She wore heels. "I think she's the Savage family's first daughter" One of the pressmen voiced out. The others oohed and ahhed. "Miss, is that true?" She nodded elegantly. "Your dress is so beautiful, where did you get it?" "I made it myself" she announced. Another round of wows. "You're so talented. I love it" Marie wasn't going to be left out of the spotlight. She hurried towards Lily. "Lily, there you are" she held her hand. Lily could not free herself. There were in public. She plastered a fake smile on. Since she wanted to act, she was going to play along. She was a good actress too."I didn't want to ask this before, but I am curious as to what gift you have for me" Marie was sure as hell that her sister didn't bring one. This would allow the public to have a terrible view of her.Which sister wouldn't prepare a gift for her sister's birthday. But Lily already knew all this and came ready. She dipped her hand in her dress, which had a small pocket, and brought out a little package."Here. This is all I could get. Happy birthday sister" Marie tried all she could to mask her fury. She opened the box before everyone. There was still a chance to embarrass her. In it were fancy hairpins and a birthday card. The people blushed, calling Lily an amazing sister. She almost coughed up blood in anger. The party began and Jayden walked in, bearing a bouquet of flowers in his hands."Betrayer" she looked on as he extended the flower to a blushing Marie. Just how blinded was she, not to see the sign the traitorous couple were giving her in her past life.Jayden finally walked
Ten minutes gone and there was still nothing from Lily, instead she was the one feeling hot. Her vision was becoming hazy. This wasn't good."You look like you're experiencing some kind of discomfort" "I…I…" "Come on. Let's get you treated" Lily helped her up, walking away with her. Marie couldn't fight back, she was becoming numb. For some reason, she remembered the room number. She found it, and stared at Marie, who wasn't herself anymore. "Have a taste of your medicine, dear sister" she turned the knob and pushed her in, closing it behind her. She placed her head on the door, grimacing when the slapping sounds and moans. Luckily, the room was soundproofed. She glanced at her wristwatch. If she wasn't mistaken, the press would storm this place in a few minutes. Marie had tipped some of them off that they could have a juicy content to write about if they came to room 06. She stood in a corner, patiently waiting. Lily was, however, startled out of her wits when she felt someone's r
The drive home was silent. The party was a disaster. Just what Lily wanted. Jayden had left. She rode with them this time, trying to hide her disgusted face, seeing the crying mother-daughter duo. Rupert was silent and headed directly towards the stairway."I'm sorry, Dad" Marie whimpered. Rupert stopped, walked back to where the two were standing, and landed a slap on her cheek, just like he had done to Lily a year ago. He was a selfish man, no doubt. He prioritized money, work, and reputation over family. Even his dear Marie wasn't left out. Marie went down immediately, from the force of the slap, that everyone thought she was going to faint. Fortunately for Lily, she didn't. If she had, the fun would have ended prematurely. If only she could pop some corn."Are you okay, darling?" Her mother asked. Rupert pointed his index finger at Marie. "You want to spoil the reputation I have worked so hard to build. Do you know how many contracts I will lose because of your foolishness? Do yo
She continued to run without looking back. Her jewelries were nowhere to be found. Only one earring remained. Her makeup was smudged, and her full, long hair occasionally covered her face, as the rain continued to beat her. Even the heavens were not on her side. A rumble vibrated the floor she was running on. The thunder was so loud that it could render someone deaf, but she didn't care as she continued running, ignoring the looks pedestrians gave her.She couldn't let those men get her. If they did, she was done for.She finally slowed down, panting really hard, when she arrived at the crossroad. There was nowhere she could run to. Her stepmother's people would definitely find her. She should just give up, right? In a daze, she began to cross to the other side, unaware of a truck driving at utmost speed towards her. She heard the people's scream, but before she could make sense out of it, she was lifted off the ground, thrown in the air, her back hit the top of the truck, then she ro
