Reene

I had an early breakfast, which was unusual, and headed downstairs for some air. My hands fidgeted in the pocket of the jacket I wore, nervousness plastered on my face.

Today was the pack run, and the pack members were already arriving at the castle.

The starting point for the run was located in the forest, close to the mountains. That would give more freedom and create a natural environment for our wolves, once we shift.

I looked around. I hadn't seen Kaden this morning.

Ever since that night he had left without any explanation, we haven't talked much.

"Scared, aren't you?" A sneering voice said beside me. I turned to see Kathy smirking at me.

She was dressed in a tight fitting short gown that made me wonder how she was going to undress when about to shift.

"I guess I am." I shrugged.

She chuckled at my response. "It isn't too late to back out now. To save your pride." She brought out a lolipop from her pocket, and promptly thrusted it into her mouth.

Kaden I watched as Amber emerged from the changing room. Ignoring the gasps from the pack members, I could only see her. White fur and those blue eyes. She approached us calmly, wagging her tail, her ears upwardly pointed, her aura calm. And then, my eyes moved to the spot on her shoulders. I had been shaken to the core when I had seen it. It was a mark, shaped like a star. Black, a sharp contrast to my white one. Heck, everything about her seemed to contrast mine. My wolf was entirely black, except the white star mark on my shoulders. At the same spot where she had hers, I also had mine. After seeing the mark that night, I had avoided her for a while. "White fur? That's rare, Alpha. We don't usually have white furred wolves." Brandon said beside me. However, I could tell he wasn't surprised. His demeanor was calm, and unfazed. "You aren't surprised?" I chuckled. "I was," He smiled. "But I noticed you weren't bothered, and that can only happen if you have everything under cont

  • Rebirth of Luna Amber    Meeting the council

Reene I stood at the a corner of the session hall, my eyes roaming over each and everyone. It was already weeks since the pack run, and we were having a meeting today. I looked around the session hall. It was dark themed, everything from the dark curtains at the windows, to the dark rugs. It gave the hall a sacred look. Again, I noted the difference between Redwood and Krypton pack. Compared to Krypton, Redwood pack was very mediocre. Kaden had requested my presence at the meeting, although I couldn't tell what it was for. He had never invited Amber to a meeting with his council. After that day at the forest, Kaden had been avoiding me. Just like he had that night. My stomach tightened and my toes curled up. We were mates... I had felt the spark. Unfortunately, Kaden had left in a hurry, in his wolf form to join others. He hadn't looked back at me. To think that Amber had found her mate. No, that wasn't right. I was the soul possessing her body. Her body at that moment was ju

  • Rebirth of Luna Amber    Attraction

ReeneI hugged myself, my legs crossed over each other, as I sat on my bed. It was already nighttime, but I had no intention of going downstairs."You good?" I heard someone ask behind me, making me jump. I hadn't heard the door open."Hey," I whispered, ignoring the scent of lavender which filled my nostrils at his entrance. Sweet Kaden's scent."Hey, yourself. You disappeared after the meeting. Are you fine?" My heart skipped a beat at his words. 'He cared.'"Yeah, just tired, I guess." I shrugged, and clasped my hands together. Sitting beside him or being anywhere close to him, was pure torture. Worse still, he was acting like he wasn't affected in the least.I hadn't expected him to announce to the pack, that I was his mate."Is there something you'd like to tell me?" I asked, focusing my attention on the window. He sighed, and sat beside me, his weight pushing that side of the bed down."Not really. I felt we needed to talk." He paused, and cleared his throat.

Reene My hands roamed over the bed, in search of a familiar warmth. Nothing.... My eyes flew open, and I sat up, looking around the room. There was no one, aside me in the bedroom. I felt a sudden emptiness in my heart, at the absence of Kaden. Where had he gone to? Lost in thoughts, I didn't acknowledge the presence of another party in the room, until she cleared her throat. I turned to see a cloaked figure, with her hands placed on her lap. She blinked."Mother?" I frowned. Since when did we become close, to the point where she could enter my bedroom? "You were sleeping, so I didn't want to disturb you." She said solemnly, her chest heaving. "Disturb? Since when did you care about my wellbeing?" I asked, a look of mockery clearly plastered on my face. She winced. "I care about you, more than you can ever think..." Her voice cracked at the end. I sneered, betting my pretty toes that it was all an act. What was she up to? "Spit it out." I leaned on the headboard, making a men

Kaden"Did they agree to the meeting?" I asked Brandon, my hand stroking the large diamond ring on my index finger. He shrugged, and shook his head. "Antonio was being adamant." He clicked his tongue. I ran my hands through my hair. We were in my study. My laptop and phone were on the table, as I waited desperately for a call from the Sovereigns delegate."He's strong-headed as always. He insisted I told him the reason for setting up the meeting." Brandon said."Bloody bastard!" I cussed.I felt like slamming my hands on the table. That bearded asshole of a werewolf. Antonio was one of the Sovereigns, who oversaw any potential meetings with the Sovereigns. The problem was he wouldn't allow anyone set up a meeting so easily."We have to do something." I said halfheartedly, adjusting my position on the chair. I turned towards the door, and smiled.I knew I wasn't mistaken. I could never mistake that scent."Are you fine?" Brandon asked with a chuckle."Of course, I

Kaden"Your office is as nice as always." I smiled at the primly dressed tall figure on the seat opposite mine."Spick and span. Thanks Alpha." He bowed. And added, "I presume you seek answers?"He said it in a questioning manner, but I knew he had concluded already. And he was right."Yes." I nodded."Would you like a cup of coffee?" He asked, placing a large book, with the title, 'Mating Bond,' on the cover. I almost smiled, as I looked around the white painted, large office, with books on shelves all over.It had been a while since I visited."I wouldn't stay long." I declined his offer, adjusting my position on the large chair."You never can tell," A playful look crossed his face. I smiled. Gaius had been my father's friend, before his death. Buddies rather. And so, I looked up to him as the uncle I never had.He was old, but looked twenty. Wolf genes. He was the pack's wise man, and other pack members sought answers from him. "My mate seems weird," I began,

ReeneI inhaled sharply, my hands tugging at my dress, as I headed downstairs. I didn't want to get angry over nothing. The guards bowed as I made my way outside. Suddenly, I bumped into a figure. Looking up, I groaned inwardly. Talk of a bad timing..."Where are you headed to, dear Luna?" Kathy asked, with crossed arms, leaning on the wall, close to the large door, that led outside."Can you move aside?" I asked, suddenly interested when I saw the dark circles under her eyes. Had she been having sleepless nights?"And why should I? You look like you are getting ready for war" She sneered."You aren't entirely brainless as I thought. You are right, dear sister. I'm getting ready to punch your pathetically pretty face." I spat, smiling brightly as her face contorted into an ugly mask."You bitch! Acting high and mighty, aren't you? We all know that wasn't your wolf. There was cheating of some sort!" She yelled, with a voice that seemed like she was trying to convin

  • Rebirth of Luna Amber    Visiting Redwood pack, again...

Reene"You look jittery," Kaden pointed out, and I sighed. Of course, I was jittery. We were about to visit the pack where I was killed afterall. We had been driving for the past few hours, yet we weren't close to the Redwood pack."Can you drive faster?" The question was out before I could stop myself."Considering the way you've been acting since we set out, I have all reasons to believe that you have another purpose for wanting to visit the Redwood pack." Kaden chuckled.I ignored his remark, as that was the only thing I could do. My gaze landed on Brandon who was driving. Kaden and I were seated at the back, the partition separating the driver and passenger's seats, pulled up."We are almost there." Brandon suddenly said after an hour. I looked out the window, at the familiar scenery. The scenery which I had come to hate.My heart clenched, and the air suddenly felt stifling. My wolf wasn't helping matters, as she growled."Are you okay?" Kaden placed a palm

Epilogue. Reene The morning was bustling with excitement but there was no doubt that it had a touch of chaos to it. Everyone was trying to leave for the wedding and with Kaden getting on my nerves, I had no idea if we were going to be able to catch up with the wedding service. I needed to be there before the wedding so I could talk to her and offer the advice I could. I stopped for a while, listening for a footstep but i heard none. I was beginning to simmer. "Honey! We are going to be late! Come on." I yelled, shaking my head. Amber was soon running down the stairs. "Where's your brother?" I asked, stretching my hand across the stairs to stop her from running. "And please don't run down the stairs anymore, okay?" I said to her, giving her a gentle pat on the cheeks. She nodded before replying. "He's with daddy." I glanced down at the luggage. There were no guards in sight to help me with it so i just had to wait until Kaden was down. He had always complained ab

Chapter 94. ReeneMy heart jumped, the moment I saw Amber stumble. She was outside playing with Ichabod and something had bumped her tiny feet.Thankfully she was able to steady herself before she bolted off again in full tilt, her tiny legs carrying her with boundless energy. "Goddess." I muttered, knowing I had to go get her immediately before something worse happened. I quickly stood up from the window side where I was seated. "She's just like his father, they never rest. You should let her. " My mother said, smiling the moment she knew what was happening. "I'm not taking the chance mother." I said, hurrying towards the door before she said something else to stop me. I could hear her laughter as I walked through the passageway, en route to the outside. A tender smile crossed my face the moment I saw Ichabod running after her. They were chasing a butterfly and the moment she caught it, they admired it for a while, the laughter ceasing. She flashed a grin the moment

Chapter 93. Reene It finally arrived. The day I'd become Kaden's wife officially. My nerves tingled with anticipation and excitement as the stylists scurried around me, each performing the specific tasks they had been employed to carry out. I had been dreaming of this day, ever since he mated me, it would seal the relationship between Kaden and I forever. I could feel nimble fingers brushing my hair as my makeup was being applied. "Your hair is absolutely gorgeous." Jane, the blonde hairdresser complimented, but I knew it was a hyperbole. My hair was great, but absolutely gorgeous? No. "We are thinking of weaving in some braids, what do you think?" She asked, the rest of her words were carried by a loud bang that emanated from the door as another stylist walked into the room. "I'd love the braids, be fast about it though. We don't have all day." I said, admiring my hair hair the mirror. "And your makeup, I am thinking of a soft, smoky look." "Just do your thing Jan

Chapter 92. ReeneMy eyes fluttered open and the world gradually began to come into focus. I tried to sit up but the pain in the lower half of my stomach reminded me that it was best to stay still for now. My mind was still clogged with what happened before I fell asleep and as the memories started to rush in I couldn't help but be emotional. I remember everything from how Kaden had successfully rescued me from the hands of Mateo and how the contraction had begun and how I had passed out as soon as we got back to the park. I had no idea of how everything else happened but I guess we were here. My mind was still filled with lots of thoughts and I could not think straight at the moment. That was the moment something struck my mind. "Kaden? Is he in danger?" I asked myself, remembering how Mateo had ordered his men to have him shot. My thoughts were just a jumbled mess and I couldn't quite piece everything together. That was the moment I turned my head to my right and to

Chapter 91. KadenI was standing face-to-face with Mateo and I knew right there and then that the moment had come. The air was filled with anticipation and as I looked back at my men. I knew that they were going to do everything to make sure that my mate was safe. They were all carrying their weapons, ready to carry out my orders if I gave any. The fate of my mate was in the balance, and I knew that any little mistake could cause everything to crash down, so I was going to make sure that we took this gently, considering the kind of evil person that Mateo was. There was no doubt that he could do everything as long as he got what he wanted and in dealing with such kind of people you had to be very careful. We continued to stare at each other for a while and the gears continued to turn in my head while I thought about what I was going to do to him. I prayed for a brain wave, something that would have me attack him before he even knew what was going on. But I also suspected

Chapter 90. Kaden The only sound that could be heard in the room was the clashing of sword against sword as we prepared to embark on our journey to rescue Reene. We made sure to get everything ready and inspect if there was anything we were leaving behind thankfully there was nothing remaining. The morning had been a very restless one since the mysterious man had interrupted our breakfast with the spine-chilling news. At this moment I still remembered how the man had run into the room with a very worried look on his face. After that he claimed that he had zeen Reene being abducted and taken into a cave in the northmost part of the woods. We had all stopped eating in shock because this was the second time that it was happening. The first time it had happened, the men had killed themselves, and now this. Chapter 89. ReeneNot long after the incident a group of men brought a plate of food and dropped it in front of me. I wondered what they gained from making me uncomfortable not minding the situation that I have found myself in. I wondered how things would turn out in the next few days now that I have been caught. I instinctively knew that their punishment was going to be very bad. But I knew I had to endure the whole thing until I was rescued from this horrible cave. After making fun of me, the men began to walk out of the room once they began hearing footsteps. I knew it was Mateo but actually he did not come anywhere near the room. I sat there in the darkness and the silence staring at the place of food on the floor. They had tied my hand just to make sure I ate in the most degrading way possible. My heart was filled with hatred and anger as

Chapter 88. Kaden I was seated in the dining room and despite the noise that was going on around me I was so lonely and felt like a ghost. The room was filled with the aroma of freshly prepared food but I knew that eating we just felt like I was pouring ashes into my own mouth. I could not eat because my heart was shattered. I looked up again at the table to see the pastries, grapes and all other sorts of food that was scattered around it because none of it appeared to me at all. I could not eat because my heart was filled with guilt and the Guilt no matter how much I tried to state a side continued to gnaw at me from the inside. It felt as though I was being ripped apart from inside because how could I sit here and try to eat while my mate and my unborn child were in the captivity of an enemy who I knew nothing about.
