Missing girls

"The bones are healing nicely, Alpha Kaden," the doctor said, with a low bow. However, I didn't make any move to acknowledge his words. I could tell he was nervous, but I said nothing. The disinfectant in the room suddenly became more defined than before, and I scrunched up my nose.

"You may leave, Doc." A calm voice said, and the door shut close. I didn't even turn to see who the intruder was. I felt nothing at that moment.

"Hey man," Brandon said, immediately the doctor left, and he pulled a chair, to sit close to me.

Still, not a word left my lips. I forced myself up, and grabbed at my crutches, wading over to the window.

I heard his calm footsteps behind me, and it wasn't until he placed his hands on my shoulders, did I react.

"For how long are you going to be this way? I can't take care of the pack, alone." He continued, and I shook his hands off.

"Oh," a low mumble was all I could let out.
