Sapphire Necklace

My head was spinning, I could almost hear the whirring sound. This was a blessing or a curse, it simply depends on how I choose to use it, and right now, I couldn't think properly, not when Damon was so close to me and his eyes were fixed on me so like he could see through me.

I needed to do something and I needed to do something fast, but I had no idea what.

His jaw tightened. "I'm going to take your silence to mean..."

I grabbed the bracelet from him. "What are you talking about Damon?" I asked, my tone higher than I intended. I made a mental note to tone it down a notch.

He seemed taken aback by my outburst before he got control of himself but not before I'd seen the flicker in his eyes... He was waiting for me to provide an explanation.

"Because it seems you're accusing me of something and I'd like to know what it is so I can know how to defend myself. Go on then, say it!" I said with genuine anger. I was angry at myself, how could I have lost my bracelet?
