42. "Choose wisely."

Naya's POV

The next morning begins with us drawing lots. Tension grips everyone when the tall receptionist walks in with a tray of papers that have been carefully folded.

“You just need to stand beside your bed and the tray will go round,” she says with a modest smile which stills my attention from the tray in her hands.

She's courteous and beautiful.

She starts going round with the tray like she said, passing it from one person to the other.

“Choose wisely,” she teases.

The papers are all the same colour; white. You can't tell which team you belong to without opening it up and reading what's written inside of it.

I watch as Sharon picks her paper eargely. Excitement lights up her face with a smile when the tray is moved over to her sister whose bunk is right beside hers.

Her eyes are popping with curiosity to see what her sister chooses.

The tray gets to me and I choose after concluding a prayer that has been in my mouth since the receptionist walked in.
