Naya’s POV I have always hated the smell and looks of hospitals since I lost my mom in them about ten years ago. Because of that, Dad made sure that the recuperation area in the pack's clinic was more like a stop-by inn. It was plain, hardly reeked of medicine and you could see the beautiful scene outside from your bed. The thought of him has my heart aching one more time. Since the last two years of his death, I have come to accept that there was no way I could move on. Deal with the pain and accept it? That was impossible. He has always been an important part of my life for more than twenty three years. And my only family for thirteen. Although he always said he was happy that he was leaving me in the hands of someone who I loved and who loved me as much. It still didn’t make the pain easier to deal with. Sweeping through the empty hallways, I realise there’s no staff around to ask how Liam is doing. Instead of going back, I drag myself to the male section of the clinic.
Naya’s POVI might have pinched myself a little more than ten times in the last minutes. It suddenly seemed like my entire life was falling apart, and as I finally gained the strength to stand up, a familiar scent flooded my nostrils. In seconds, Liam’s familiar figure rushes through the door, only that, he doesn’t stop. He probably didn’t even see me there, and I watched from where I stood by the door as my husband rushed towards Sophie. Sophie no longer had the fierce and aggressive demeanour from earlier. Instead, she has this frail and lost look in her eyes that reminds me of the many times that she asked me for a favour. But what is even more baffling is Liam. He looked nothing like someone who just got a transplant. “L…Liam… I told you that Naya would be angry as soon as she finds out,” Sophie says weakly and then burst into tears.Liam finally glances at my side, our eyes meeting. But it’s not him that’s staring at me. The Liam I knew, the Liam I married, always looked
Naya’s POVI wonder if I get to meet with Selene. Would I be angry at her for making me the chosen one? Or would she be angry that I couldn’t do the sole thing that she chose me for?To protect her people. When all the swirling and turning finally stopped, I pried my eyes open.Shock rushes through me as I take in the sight before me. The scene before me is nothing like what I expect the afterlife to look at. Instead, it was a scene that I knew too well. Remembered too well. Was the moon goddess trying to remind me of the day that I had made the worst mistake of my life? Of the day that I said yes to the monster that had taken everything from me?As I stare in the mirror, staring at the wedding dress from that day, my fists clench tightly.Wait…“How do I still have my body?”“I was wondering when you were going to realise it, silly,” Elisa’s familiar voice rang out, and I froze.“Lisa!” “What’s going on?” “We seem to be back in time, only that I don’t remember anything else f
Naya’s POV‘Elisa!’Having a wolf that was as strong as Elisa was the envy of everyone. An envy that I had known for twenty-five years before my first life ended. But none of them knew the disadvantages. Despite being my wolf, Elisa could take over my body while I was in human form. And she always did it at the worst timing. Like right now. I gulp as the man’s eyes fall on me; his blue eyes are clear and bright. So clear that they want to pull me in. Yet, there’s a chilling coldness in them that makes me want to stay away. And even as a shifter, I feel like he could be a threat to me. Was this man human? And if he wasn’t, why couldn’t I smell his wolf on him? “You need a groom?” He finally asked.I take a deep breath while trying to find the most logical explanation for what just happened. Yet, in that moment, the struggle for control between Elisa and me is even stronger. Like always, she wins.“Yes, I need a groom.” The man gives me another piercing stare that seems to go o
Liam's POV“Take it easy, Liam. It's nobody's fault,” Sophie says as she gets down from her car and walks to me.I slap a palm onto my face. “Then explain to me, Sophie. You've been designing for more than four years now. Why did you make a dress that is easy to tear?”“I told you to keep your feelings out of this. I told you!”Her eyes widen as she stares at me with surprise. My angry side is something she hasn't witnessed personally.“I didn't make any underhand design,” she argues. “The material, the pattern… all of it was in perfect condition before I handed it over.”“And then it ripped apart while she was coming down from the taxi. Fuck, I should have known something like this would happen,” I rant.I pick up a glass of water and take a gulp. Shouting for the past twenty minutes has really turned my throat sore.“You know what, Sophie? Saturday. You will make another wedding dress before Saturday. Do you understand?”“Darling,” she purrs, resting a palm on my chest, “you're soun
Naya’ POVA magnificent mansion is a few meters away from us. From the distance, it beams of royalty and wealth. Completely different from anything I had seen.“This is yours?” I intentionally ask Rowan who has just shown me that he can stay thirty minutes in a vehicle without saying a word to his spouse.“Yes.”That is all he can say.I sigh softly and manage a smile. “It’s gorgeous.”“Just like you,” he blurts out. It's a beautiful compliment, but it's so plain cause he doesn't even look at me when he says it.I manage to put on another smile. “Thank you.”Some minutes later, our car parks in front of the mansion and Henry rushes out to get the door for me and Rowan afterwards. He whispers something to Rowan and he nods in agreement to whatever it is.Rowan walks up to me and hangs his arm open.“Hold me,” he orders and I do that immediately. We are a newly wedded couple, so it's only natural that we act like one. But it seems a bit weird. The moment Henry opens the door for us to
Chapter 7Naya's POVI wake up and the party music is still blowing downstairs.I glance around the room but there's no sign of Rowan anywhere. I assume he hasn't returned since when he left the room. It's thirty minutes past ten when I look at my wristwatch and it dawns on me that I didn't tell anyone I was going to sleep outside.I look at my phone and my eyes are torn when I see forty missed calls and fifteen text messages. Twenty-two of the calls are from Jake and the rest from mum and Liam.I heave off a sigh and tuck the phone back into my pocket. I'll think of anything excuse to give them tomorrow. My eyes meet Rowan's wardrobe open and I curiously make up my mind to check out the kind of cloths he wears. One by one, I flip through the line up of cloths. All of them are made from rich, expensive fabrics, and have this exquisite scent that make me believe he has nice taste for perfumes.Right beside the wardrobe, there's a big mirror which is the same height as the wardrobe. I d
Chapter 8Naya's POVIt's Monday and the talk of the day is my cancelled marriage. I'm not surprised because I invited ninety percent of our workers.I go to my office and begin to work on the dress which I have left hanging for over one week.Flora pops out from her own cubicle and waves a playful hand at me. “Hey, damsel!”Her blonde hair cascades over her fine dimples as she smiles. She's everyone's favourite and a cheerful person.“Girl, you know I was down for some serious after-wedding party,” she tells me and I stiffen.I'm about to respond before I hear someone call out, “her lover boy is here.”Liam? No, it's Jake. My adorable sweet thing. He's with a brown paper bag which I know definitely has something in it for me.His bike is parked at the lot and he throws fast steps as he walks in, greeting everyone while his eyes are scouting for me.“Over here!” Flora waves at him.“Poor thing. Such a pity she doesn't plan to marry him,” I hear someone mutter and I curse my extremely
LIAMSophie was still making a din outside, trying to get me to see her but I pretended as if I could not hear her. Once she got tired then she was going to understand that I was truly done with her and that I wanted nothing to do with her She would leave me alone then. I was waiting for her to get tired of knocking when my phone rang. I frowned when I saw it. It was from a phone number that I did not know. I picked it up, anyway. "Hello? Who is this?" I said as soon as I picked up the call. "You are Liam right? The King had asked me to contact you. He told me that you would be needing my help?" She asked me. I stood up immediately when she told me this. I had almost forgotten that the King had told me that someone was going to contact me and that they were going to yell me save the person that he wanted me to save."I think we should meet up, I will tell you where we are supposed to meet up," she said and ended the call. O frowned. She didn't even let me know her name or
LIAMMy heart was beating fast against my chest when I left the hospital. I had been really confident that I would have been able to get Naya's blood. She was really weak and all I had to do was just take it. But who knew that even though she was sick she still had a lot of strength in her. That damn woman! Did she have to be so stubborn about everything?! If I couldn't find the antidote, then the princess and I could be dead soon. How could she just stand back and watch as two innocent people died for nothing?! Did I really have to kidnap her and force her to give me her blood? I really didn't want to go too far with her because I still had hopes of getting back with her before but I didn't think they was going to be possible anymore. It seemed that there was no other way for me to get out of this. I would have to burn all of the bridges. I was not surprised when I saw Sophie standing in front of my house when I arrived. She had been trying to reach me but I have refused to pic
NAYAI let out a sigh of relief that I did not Gen knkr that j was holding when I saw Rowan. The tears that I had been holding back started falling and he pulled me into his arms immediately. He started to comfort me. "There is no need for tob to cry anymore. I am already here. I will take care of this. You are okay now," he tried his best to comfort me. I shook my head and sobbed loudly in his arms. I did not know how long I cried for but by the time I looked up again, Rowan and I were the only ones left in the hospital room. At some point, the nurse and doctor had walked away. I sniffed as I looked up at him. "Do you feel better now?" Rowan asked me. I was still very frightened about what had happened but I was better and a lot calmer now that Rowan was here. "Yes. I do feel better...." I said as I nodded my head. "Do you want to talk about what happened....the nurse had told me that there was a man inside here? Who was it? What did he do to you?" He asked me."It was Liam
NAYAI shuddered when I saw the cold look that was on Liam's face. My whole body was in pain and I knew that I would not be able to stop him if he really wanted to do something to me. I was really scared now. I had no idea what he was going to do to me...."What are you going to do to me, Liam? Rowan is going to be back soon. If you don't want to die, you had better get out of here. He is not going to let you off if you dare to do anything to hurt me," i warned Liam. Liam just smiled evilly. "Well he is not here right now. I am sure that I would have finished and even left before he comes back. You don't have to try to threaten me with him. I am not scared of him at all, you see. I don't care about him. Now stay put and just let me draw some blood from you" he said to me. "Don't come close to me! Don't think I am joking!" I yelled. He didn't listen to me. He was still approaching me. "Just stay put Naya, it's not going to hurt at all. I just need a bit of your blood to make the
LIAMI was not expecting Naya to wake up at all. Her face was really pale so whatever has happened to her must have been pretty serious. I was blown away when her eyes fluttered open. My heart was beating fast against my chest. I was still holding on to her arm and she was blinking at me as if she was trying to figure out what was going on. "What are you doing here?" Naya asked me. Her voice was really weak. She tried to sit up on the bed but she fell back down on the bed. He face went vent paler. It was obvious that she was in a lot of pain. She placed her hand on her stomach. "What happened to me?" She mumbled to herself. I scoffed at her. "You really have no one else to blame but yourself for this. You are the one who brought this upon yourself. If you had just listened to me and did as I asked, then we won't have gotten here. You have no one else to blame but yourself," I repeated this over and over again. "Liam....what are you doing here?" She asked me. If was as if Naya h
LIAM"What do you need me to do for you?" I asked him urgently. I was more than willing to do anything now. As long as it meant that I was going to keep my life. I didn't want to die. "I need you to rescue someone for me. He was taken by someone... I need to to get him out there," The King said with a frown on his face. I blinked my eyes. I could tell that he war trying to hold back as much informational as possible. I could not understand why he was doing this. If he wanted me to do something, then he should tell me what it entailed upfront so that I would be able to do a good job. "You need to tell me all that I should know about this person so that I can rescue them," I said to the King. He waved his hand at me. "you don't need to know anything more. You just need to know that he's currently behind held at the home of a man called Rowan. You just need to find out where Rowan keeps him and get him out for me," he said to me. I bit my lips and chuckled to myself when I heard Row
ROWANI looked towards the window and I saw that it was nighttime. I sighed, really worried about Naya. Was she going to come out of the place alive?.The thought of hrr dying was the scariest thing to me and I didn't really think that I would be able to take it if anything did happen to her. Henry came back with the drinks that he said he was going to get and he handed one to me. I took it from him and took a sip. I had to admit that it was really good just what I needed. Just then, the doctor walked out of the hospital room and I ran to him immediately. "Doctor....how is my wife doing ...she is not going to die, right? She is going to be okay right?" I asked him all in one breath. The doctor looked at me and shook his head and my heart started to beat fast against my chest. I didn't know what to do or say at that moment. The only thing I could think of was that she was dead. She had died. What was I supposed to do without her? How was I even going to continue my life without
LIAMI walked out of the princess room with a heavy heart. Although I would have liked to stay and talk with her some more, I didn't want to do that. I knew her father was going to be back any time soon and I didn't want to make him even more angry with me. I was walking back to the doctors office when I saw someone I never thought I'd see in the VIP ward of the hospital. It was Rowan and he was pacing outside a hospital room with a worried look on his face. There was another man with him who also had a worried look on his face. I hid myself in a corner so he won't see me and I continued to watch him. What was he doing here? Was Naya in the hospital? I got a report from the Elders in her pack that had left the pack since her father got better. What happened to her for her to be in the hospital though? I had a lot of questions. Besides,I wasn't even sure that she was the one in there. The other guy placed a hand on Rowan's shoulder. "I am going to go downstairs and get somethi
LIAM"And what do you want to see her for? Do you even think that her father is going to let you see her? You were supposed to have come back for the antidote for her soon but you didn't do that. Because of you, her life is in danger now and you think that for some kind of reason you can come here and demand that out want to see her?! "The doctor yelled at me. I bowed my head as he scolded me as if I was a child. I did not dare to raise my head or say a single word back to him. I knew that all it was going to take was for me to make a simple mistake and then they were going to deal with me. I didn't want to risk it at all. "No, you don't understand it. I just want to know how she's doing. I am not planning anything. How could I dare to plan anything when you're still her with me? I am really very sorry for what she is going through and I really just want to make sure that she is fine, okay. Besides, the King isn't here right now. I will be back before he comes back," I assured the
