Chapter 45: Can’t get access to funds

Helena paced her room, fuming. It had been days since she had access to her card and her dad kept trying to push to ball due to lack of funds and there was still no resolution. Every attempt to access the funds had been blocked, leaving her charity ball plans in jeopardy. She knew who was behind this, and the thought made her blood boil.

The answer came later that evening. As she was sitting in the living room, her father entered, his face etched with frustration.

“Helena, it’s worse than we thought,” he said, sinking into a chair. “Liliana has tightened her grip on the company’s finances. She’s the one blocking our access to the funds.”

Helena’s jaw clenched. “I knew it. That bitch is doing this on purpose. But why now? Why block the funds when we need them the most?”

“She’s trying to weaken us,” her father replied. “With no access to funds, we can’t host the ball or make any significant moves. She wants us to look vulnerable, unstable.”
