CHAPTER 55

I opened my eyes and everywhere look so cloudy. I saw my parents beside me. What happened? Why are they looking at me?

"mom, what happened to me?"

"you collapsed"

"collapsed?"

"and you lost the pregnancy" dad announced

"what? I lost my only consolation" I cried

"Valerie, calm down. It's a good thing, since the father of the child is no longer alive. Do you want to have a child that will keep reminding you of the sorrow?"

"But dad, that child would have made me to remember him all through my life"

"it's nothing. Just relax. You will get over it"

I was so devastated. Why was all these happening to me? I received the news of his death today and I lost the pregnancy today. What a terrible day I will never forget in my entire life.

It was not easy for me to cope. I was just like a shadow of myself. How will I move on? The doctor came and checked on me.
