I want you

"Calm down!" Henry had to silence Kai and he forcibly severed the link between them. He needed to understand the reason behind Eleanor's actions.

"Tell me, why? From what I've heard, you love your husband, Alpha Thomas." As Henry spoke the word 'love', his heart ached uncontrollably. He couldn't accept the fact that his mate had chosen another Alpha, instead of waiting for him.

"Yes, I love him. But I have to break our mark because my husband, Alpha Thomas, has found his mate." Eleanor answered in a sad voice.

Upon hearing Eleanor admit that she loved Alpha Thomas, Henry felt as if his heart had been punched hard. He couldn't contain his anger and said, "Is this your reason for wanting to replace him as the Alpha of Blackstorm? You should have seen this coming. Werewolves always choose their destined mate unconditionally. You have no reason to hate him or even be so malicious as to usurp his pack."

Eleanor fell silent. She knew, but she thought that her bond with Thomas would overcome the mate bond. Perhaps because she herself hadn't found her mate, she couldn't perceive the intense soul resonance that the bond brought. So in her previous life, she assumed that Thomas wouldn't be lured by Mia. After all, they had a decade-long relationship.

Pain. The pain in the mark on Eleanor's neck flared up again, but she still couldn't tell Henry that the reason she wanted to compete for Blackstorm was because she had been reborn. She knew for sure that Thomas would thrust a sword into her heart in three months.

"It's not his pack!" Eleanor retorted. "Thomas is a proud man, but his abilities clearly don't match his pride. When our pack faced a significant financial crisis, it was me who navigated various meetings and secured investments, allowing our pack to survive that crisis smoothly. There are many such instances, but... I'm not here to brag about my abilities today. I'm here to ask you for an answer."

"Alpha Henry, will you support me?" After Eleanor finished speaking, she took a step back and looked at Henry expectantly for a response.

As Henry was looked at by her, he felt heat flooding his body, and his dick throbbed uncontrollably. He wanted to pin her down beneath him and thrust into her relentlessly. He realized what a fool Thomas had been for giving up such a perfect Luna. But he was also grateful that the fool hadn't realized that losing Eleanor would send him into hell.

However, he was still curious about Eleanor's opinion of her destined mate.

"Luna Eleanor, aren't you curious about your mate? Thomas has found his, maybe you'll find yours soon. Will you abandon Blackstorm and choose your mate's pack then?" It was Henry's turn to be nervous.

Mate? Eleanor thought of her wolf Harper's words. If she broke the mark with Thomas, she would have to accept the mark of her destined mate. Otherwise, Harper would disappear, and the pack would not accept an Alpha without a wolf to lead them.

"If I find my mate, I will accept his mark. But, I won't abandon the Blackstorm pack. Many of the pack's old rules are outdated and need to be changed." Eleanor said firmly.

Henry received a definitive answer. She would accept him! But apparently, she couldn't smell his scent. He would figure out the reason.

As he looked at the confident and powerful Eleanor, his heat became even more apparent. He hadn't expected that. How many times had she-wolves approached him, saying they wanted to challenge an Alpha for the position? Never.

Hearing her say that with so much confidence, he knew he had always been right about her.

He already knew she was brave from the moment she saved him when they were kids. And now, he could see she was not the kind of she-wolf to run from sticky situations. She was perfect. What kind of doofus was her current husband to let her go?

He must confirm that her determination to leave Thomas was real. He asked provocatively, "You are a she-wolf, what makes you think you are capable of leading a pack?"

Eleanor bristled at Henry's question. She had known she would come across Alphas who didn't think she could become Alpha because she was female, but he was the first one to say so blatantly to her face.

She pushed her disappointment down and looked him in the eyes. Whatever misconceptions he had, she was here to prove that she was worth supporting. If he decided she wasn't a worthy ally because she was female, she was better off without him.

"I'm a warrior Luna," she told him firmly. "I've not only trained the pack warriors but have also fought alongside them against rogues. I've also been helping my husband in various pack matters. I know how to run a pack, and I'm quite sure I can do it better than him."

"What if your pack doesn't want you?" He asked, arching an eyebrow again. This time not in amusement but in challenge. "You can get all the support you need from outsiders, but at the end of the day, it's your pack members who'll decide who's to be their Alpha."

"Let me worry about that," she told him. "I'm confident that when the time comes, they'll find me more than qualified to be their Alpha. As long as I get your support at the upcoming Alpha selection, I'm not going to lose."

"So you need me," he stated.

There was something about the way he said those four words that made her think he wasn't just referring to the Alpha selection.

She nodded. "I'll be grateful for your help. I can be a useful ally."

"I'll support you, " he said, "but only if you agree to my one condition."

"What is it?" Eleanor knew that Henry would not help her unconditionally. But his next words still made her eyes widen.

"I want you," Henry declared in a forceful voice, nibbling on her earlobe.

This is pretty much the same plot as "The Perfect Luna", just saying.
