Chapter 6 What if she still fall?

Ailina’s POV:

Hearing my father's words, I sneered and pulled out the pillow from Susan’s skirt.

As soon as I took out the pillow, the noisy living room became utterly quiet. Everyone stood there in shock and disbelief, not moving for a long time.

“Dad, here is your so-called son! Take care of her!” I sneered, throwing a pillow in my father’s arms.

Looking at the pillow in my dad’s hand, Susan's face became pale. Then, covering her face, she cried.

“George, I just want to be with you and want Hallie call you dad rightfully. I just want her to recognize her ancestors. Honey, I have been with you for twenty years and Hallie is almost twenty years old. However, she still didn’t have a clear identity, and she is still laughed outside…”

“Even though… you still didn’t do such a thing…” He said, clenching the pillow in his hands.

Seeing this, Susan shook her head and wept, as if she regretted it and tangled.

“I can’t help it… I really can’t help it. I feel sorry for Hallie! She is so poor…”

“Dad, I also don’t want to called bastard… who have mother but no father…” Hallie held her mother and cried.

Seeing mother and daughter crying so hard, I must admit that they know my father so well that they could control his emotions and actions so well…

Sure enough, seeing mother and daughter pair crying like this and hearing their so-called heartfelt words, he quickly embraced them, saying, “I am sorry… I am sorry… it’s all my fault! I didn’t do my duty as a father…”

Seeing their so-called family drama, I felt bored and decided to go upstairs to have some rest.

However, before I could even take a single step, my father shouted, “Where are you going?”

I turned around to look at them.

“I am tired and didn’t want to watch your father and daughter reunion show, so I am going to my room!” I said.

“Even if your aunt is not pregnant, it didn’t give you the right to push her from such a high staircase. Do you even know how serious it could have been? Your aunt is always so good to you, how can you treat her like this! Quickly, apologize to her!” He scolded.

I sneered. “Apologize?”

Then, I pulled out my phone, opened the video, and placed it on the table, saying, “Dad, please see carefully how she fell from the stairs. Don’t try to cover her fake pregnancy with my pushing her down!”

Saying that, I left upstairs.

This video had already recorded how Susan fell from the stairs.

As I went upstairs, I could hear Grandpa knocking his cane on the floor and my father making excuses for Susan…

After I went back to my room, I could no longer hear their words.

After all, Susan had so many excuses and with my father believing her for so many years, I can’t change his opinion overnight.

Sure enough, in the evening he knocked on my door.

As soon as I opened the door, I saw him standing at the door of my room, holding a bowl of soup in his hands, with his face filled with a rare kindness.

“Ailina, why haven’t you slept yet? What are you doing?” he asked.

I was browsing my computer when he knocked on my door, so when he asked that question, turned my laptop to him.

However, he casually glanced at it and said, “Ailina, here drink some soup! Your Aunt Susan has especially prepared it for you!”

I didn’t want to quarrel with him, so I took the soup from her. After all, he is my father. Even though he is a bit stupid, he is not bad.

After taking a sip of the soup, I looked at him and said, “Dad, please thank Aunt on my behalf!”

Hearing that, he smiled and said, “Ailina, I am sorry for today! I have misunderstood you!”

However, I just smiled and didn’t say anything.

“Ailina, please don’t blame your Aunt for what happened today! It’s just that when she fell down in panic was and became a little confused, thinking that you pushed her down. She didn’t mean to hurt you intentionally!”

“Oh!” I said dumbly, bowed my head, taking another sip of the soup in my hand.

Dad sighed and said, “Ailina, I know you have been wrong today, however why didn’t you reached out to hold her hand. If you held her, she didn’t fell down, you wouldn’t have been wronged and…”

“And no one know about Aunt Susan’s fake pregnancy and you would been able to marry her, right?” I said calmly, interrupting his words.

He didn’t seem to expect me to see through him as he coughed lightly to hide his embarrassment.

“You’re aunt has been living under our roof all these years, and has been taking care all of us tirelessly, without any identity. She just wants to have a family with me.” he said.

“Dad, the reason I didn’t reached out to hold Aunt’s hand to avoid any misunderstanding. If aunt still fell down, then it could have been conclusive that I did push her down, right?” I said lightly.

“As long as you reach for her, how could she fell?”

“What if Aunt Susan has to fall today?”

“How is this possible?” He said, shaking his head.

“Why not? If…”

“Okay, drop it for now. This is the end of the story and the past things will not be said.”
