This Is Not The Right Way To Pursue A Woman

After getting her wound treated, Wang Kai drops NiNi off at her apartment. None of them talk about 'boyfriend' things again.

Wang Kai starts to work on her laptop while NiNi called Jun Li to check on him once they slide into the car.

When Xiao Ni reaches home, she quickly takes a bath and gets comfy. She can't help but recall the wondrous things that happen to her today.

'Aiya, what with my luck today' she frowns when she felt her hair scalps still hurting from the accident. Her eyes filled with strange lights when Wang Kai's voice started to haunted her mind.

Is the only kidding with me, right? It's not like they are going to have a serious relationship between them. If they become a couple, won't it be awkward?

They could be classified as a childhood sweetheart.

Xiao Ni grew up with Wang Kai. He knows every well every bad thing about her as she knew every bad thing he has done.

Recalling her kind of bad-reputation, Xiao Ni felt a bit regretful. They seem to grow apart when he becomes a Junior High scholar. He began to occupy in his study, and they hang out less. Almost like he was avoiding her.

Even when he comes to Guan's house, he stays in his brother's room. So naturally, the abandoned NiNi didn't play with them anymore.

That one time Xiao Ni tried to hand out with Wang Kai and Guan Xian- Xiao Ni's brother, she got ignored. The pampered princess pouts all day after that, and she decided not to bother them anymore.

When she finally enters the first grade of junior high, Wang Kai and her brother are already in the senior class. As she began to rebel, she often causes trouble at school, and Guan Xian had to clean up the mess all the time.

Then Wang Kai suddenly goes overseas for college, earlier than he is supposed to go. An incident happens, one that changes their whole relationship.

He skips one year of senior high school and graduates three years in Oxford afterward. During that period, Xiao Ni lost contact with him.

After Wang Kai come back to the Capital city, Xiao Ni would only talk to him a little to show respect and ignore him.

He also acts the same.

It is why Xiao Ni was surprised When Wang Kai suddenly appears like the long-lost-brother. Xiao Ni slightly feels awkward at first but acts like her usual self after that.

They just childhood friends that become strangers. She has thought they won't have anything to do with each other anymore. Now that it becomes like this-

Some of the people noticed her bruises and cursed Meng Li Xue fans that act anarchically. However, some of them still scolded her for being petty and tried to become an actress.

They keep saying that NiNi can be famous as she is now because of her background, she doesn't have any talent, and her singing sucks. No matter how strong you are, mean comments like this can affect you sometimes. NiNi always knows that her singing skill moreover sings rocks is terrible.

She doesn't have a powerful voice like a singer that can hit high notes. Her voice is soft and fresh. Her coaches tell her she should sing a ballad or the sweet song type.

But back then, she desperate for Qin Bai's attention. So she decided to be a rock singer. Thinking about her dumb idea, Xiao Ni was speechless. She chooses to go through hell rather than make her parent happy, and that man still left her in the end.

It was priceless since the president rarely smiling like that anymore. Xiao Ni clicked her tongue and pointed at the little boy's nose.

"You should smile like this. Why you always look as if the world owes you something." She murmured and sneered at the picture. Xiao Ni decided to take photos of their childhood and sent them to Wang Kai's WeChat.

"little brother is so cute." she sends him playfully. Putting the phone away since she knows he won't be replying soon as he didn't answer her phone just now.

Butt beyond her expectation, he replies right away.

Wang Kai: "I'm so handsome."

He replied shamelessly. Xiao Ni is speechless, did not answer a call but responded to the text right away.

Has he become that type of person? The one who hates calls and only answers with text?

Xiao Ni: "why don't you answer my call?"

Wang Kai: "I don't want to."

In the meeting room of Wang Corporation, Wang Kai narrows his eyes down to his phone, frowning. The whole room falls into silence.

He did not realize that the presenter had asked for his opinion. His concern and focus went to Xiao Ni's message right away. He did not even bother to look at the presenter again.

Did she take him like a toy? Take when she want, toss him away when she didn't want. He was feeling angry and helpless at the same time.

Taking some minutes to think of the reply, he ends up gritting his teeth and cluelessly acting shamelessly. He did not even hear Han Li fake cough to gain his attention. After sending his reply with no regret, he looked up and coldly said, "continue."

WangKai: "I want to."

Xiao Ni: "..."

Xiao Ni quickly types his answer furiously.

She can't guess what the real meaning behind I want to?

WangKai: "Yes. Meeting."

Oh, he's in the middle of a meeting.

Should she tell him over text now?

She probably should. With her mother's speed of spread gossip, she afraid now everybody in the city knows already. After finishing this matter, she should call her mother immediately!

Xiao Ni: "About the boyfriend things, I don't think we should do it. It's not fair to you and will make things awkward between us."

Wang Kai had lost his patience at the meeting.

He should take this as a lesson. Next time, he should have Han Li write their agreement on legal white and black as evidence.

Damn this guy, can't he reply with a complete sentence? Xiao Ni almost berserk and might exploded in any second.

Xiao Ni: "You're my brother's best friend, and you are the brother I grew up alongside. If our family knew that we are just faking it, they would be hurt."

Wang Kai calling~

"Wei?" she answers the call with a shaky finger. Biting her lower lips, she answers Wang Kai's calls. There are so many questions lingering on her mind.

"You can't back out. You're the one who begs me, and we have the deal. You promised to be obedient," Wang Kai said with a tone of warning.

His voice was firm. It was clear that he didn't take any rejection.

Xiao Ni: "…"

"Brother Wang, you know that once everybody knows we're in a relationship, it's almost impossible to back out. You know both our mother is kinda…" Her voice fades out at the end of her sentence.

When Xiao Ni remembers her mother and aunty Wang, her expression becomes weird and frightened.

"What?" He lightly traps her to finish her sentence as if he wants to make her the name she mentions.

Xiao Ni takes a big gulp. The sentence got stuck in her throat. After few seconds of silence, Xiao Ni finally went on finishing the sentence.

"We will end up in marriage!!" her ears turn red when she said marriage.

Just like what she has thought, Wnag Kai wouldn't mind marriage.

"You're not willing to?" Wang Kai asks her with a playful voice. He stands up and watches the city light through the wall window from his office.

Wang Kai ends up meeting in a hurry only to clarify this thing with Xiao NiNi. Of course, he was clear that they will end up in marriage, so what is wrong with that?

NiNi was left speechless again.

This devil! Why he keeps making me stand in a difficult spot?!

He sounds so relax as if marriage is not a sacred thing for him.

Xiao Ni blows her bangs as she replies, "Excuse me, mister, marriage is a big deal. What would happen if we love someone in the future, but we can't be with them because we are married? I don't want to have a second marriage or we a widow!!!"

Her face turns red as she said this. She felt angry and yet embarrassed.

"Marriage is important to a woman. I only want to have one marriage in this lifetime. I want to give it to the man I love." She said it softly, causing a tingling sensation to people who heard her.

The other line was silent.

"You like somebody else?" The question is short, but NiNi can feel the coldness that makes her freeze. Xiao Ni's face fell to the bottom pit.

THAT IS SO NOT THE POINT!

This guy is impossible to communicate with.

"No?" she answers with doubt.

She has moved on from Qin Bai. Although shameless and a bit crazy, she won't tolerate having feelings for a married man. Ever since she knew Qin Bai proposed to the girl he likes, she has stopped.

On the other hand, Wang Kai, She had always liked him since-

It's been too long she can't remember when did she first like him. He keeps doing this to her, sending out a mixed signal. Send her to this complicated maze whit no exit door. She has been in these mazes from 15 years old, horrible.

"Me too, so it's okay. Anyway, my mom asks you to come tomorrow. I haven't told her." He says the last point quickly ash he knows she would think his mom already knows. He speaks fast that she has no chance to discuss anymore.

"Hmm, okay, I will visit aunty tomorrow," She said as she stares at the photo album in her lap.

"Okay." she heard his answer.

However, he didn't bid goodbye. Wang Kai is waiting patiently on the other side as if he knows she hasn't finished yet.

"Brother Wang, are we in that kind of relationship right now?" she asks her in a small voice, so small that Wang Kai almost didn't hear it.

Upon hearing her question, his lips suddenly move upwards as he stares at the view outside.

"What kind of relationship?" he asks with a playful tone.

'He deliberately teases me!' NiNi humped for a second.

But bit her lips again when she realized she should answer his question. Her heart was beating so fast as if she had run 800 km nonstop.

Heck! Why would I feel nervous? It's not like I'm confessing to him.

Wait, Confessing....? her lips twitch at the word confession.

She, Xiao Ni, knew very well how traumatic that word is to her.

She never likes the man who fancies her.

And the man she likes never likes her back.

It's like a curse!

"You know, that kind of what you have with your previous boyfriend." she decides to make him annoyed then felt satisfaction. She knew it would trigger him.

Xiao Ni doesn't know why she likes to annoy the hell out of him.

"I don't have any ex-boyfriend before Ms. Guan. Please be specific." Wang Kai smirk on the other side. His voice was deep and confident.

Dang it, he's good! Xiao Ni rolls her eyes as she said the death sentence quickly.

"Relationship of boyfriend and girlfriend." she bit her lips again, embarrassed.

"En." He answers softly, satisfied with her clarification.

Both suddenly have a hidden smile on their lips and sparks on their eyes.

"You got it right."
