When Liviana was a child, she had this dream.

It was common, she believed, as she thought it was something everyone would have dreamt of at least once in their lifetime. It wasn't typical, as in it wasn't for the job people would dream of or for fame and money, nor was it a dream for a love so great, it would go down in history as a tale for romantics to fawn over for eternity- letting their love live on and on and on.

Instead, it was much simpler than that.

Liviana's dream was for the perfect life. Everyone's definition of perfect was different, and for Liviana, it simply meant balance. She didn't need everything to be perfect all the time- she knew that in this world, constant perfection was near impossible in this world, right next to flying with your bare arms and the idea of true immortality. She didn't need to be a millionaire or a genius or to be considered beautiful. Mansions, money, cars, jewelry, reputation, fame- in her eyes, it was all as overrated as it was shallow. And

  • Re-Arranged   Chapter Thirty Seven | Rollercoasters

From the moment her very existence was decided on, Liviana Castelli has had her entire life planned out to the perfect tee. From the moment she was born, her life had been written out in front of her, just waiting for her to flip through the pages and read what life had in store for her. And with great hesitance, she did. She turned the pages, reading each word a hundred times back and reading between the lines, looking for some sort of hope hidden on the pages or chance living beneath the ink. She searched, and she hoped and prayed, and she found absolutely nothing. How could she when there was nothing but deception in the words they had written? Each sentence, every word, each and every letter was all chosen with purpose. They were selected with careful calculation and written in strive, done with such precision that not even the world's greatest lawyer would have been able to find the loophole of the life Liviana was meant to lead. She was stuck. Or so she thought. Life is a r

  • Re-Arranged   Chapter Thirty Eight | On Top Of The World

Liviana Castelli has always been known as an old soul, of sorts. When she was a child, she was the one everybody would call mature for her age. Not because she didn’t act childish at times or because she had the same knowledge or skills that an adult did. That wasn’t it at all. She had moments where she was the wild child, running, screaming, making a mess of herself and everything around her. She could cry, throw tantrums, and say the most immature things when she wanted. So, she wasn’t exactly mature. Yet, she wasn’t immature either. She was the kid who stayed back to help teachers clean after an activity. She was the mom friend in a group of reckless teens, and even before that, when she was a child, she was the friend who was more aware. The one who made sure the other kids didn’t go too far and hurt themselves. She was the one who told kids to slow down when they were running too fast, worried they would trip and fall. And when she was older, she was the one to make sure everyon

  • Re-Arranged   Chapter Thirty Nine | Immortality

What is true immortality? It was a question Liviana has always had. She would sit for hours, the cogs of her creative mind turning like a clock as she wondered, what is immortality? Was it someone who lived forever? She knew that was the most common perception, if not the only. According to the definition, immortality was the ability to live forever; eternal life. That was the idea of immortality, living forever. It was typically something associated with vampires and magic- time travel, even. It was something right out of those movies of magic and everyone's favorite fantasies. Immortality was an idea ripped right from the pages of those wild books, written by the most creative minds. And Liviana told herself not to waste her time pondering the thought too much when she could be doing something much more productive, but what could she say? Her creative mind came alive at just the thought. It lit up like a field of fireflies as she ran through every thought, asking herself, what was t

  • Re-Arranged   Chapter Forty | When Three Becomes Four

Liviana Santora has never been one to appreciate the taste of danger. In fact, she was one to do everything she could to avoid a simple smell of it.She was the one to walk side by side, hand in hand with safety. She would stay put, glancing over at the ones that laughed and screamed with joy, soaring as adrenaline rushed through their veins. And she would watch from the sidelines, hiding in safety's warm embrace while she stuck to her side of the fine line that separated life and living."Come on, Livi. Live a little!" They would tell her. "Take a little walk on the wild side.""I can't." She would deny, standing firmly as she planted her feet in the sand, arms crossed as she stubbornly refused to venture out into the wild side that they all encouraged her to try. "It's too dangerous.""It's not dangerous, Liviana. It's fun." The other girl had argued. "Don't you want to know the difference between simply living and being alive? Truly alive?""Not if it's going to get me into trouble

  • Re-Arranged   Chapter Forty One | Don't Worry About It

For as long as she could remember, Liviana Castelli has always loved the car.She wasn't sure what it was, but it was as if something in her brilliant mind had clicked into place with the belt of her car seat, and from the moment she was first strapped into the car, ready to take that wonderful drive home from the hospital, she was in love. She had found her place in the back seat of her parents' luxurious automobile. And she never wanted to leave. It was evident in the way she cried as a newborn when she was unbuckled, wailing as she was taken from the first place she had ever thought of as safety and comfort. It was an event repeated nearly every night, as Liviana was the child who would scream and cry all hours of the night. Until finally, they found a way to calm her. Car rides. Her nannies would drive for hours, riding through the late nights with soft music playing in the background, just waiting for the fussy child to fall asleep. But it was a rare occasion when she did. Car ri

  • Re-Arranged   Chapter Forty Two | Road Trips

When Liviana was eleven years old, she had gone through a traumatic event. One day, when she and her siblings had the house to themselves, they had decided that this was a perfect opportunity to be the normal kids they had always wanted to be. They weren't going to do anything crazy. There were no drawings on the walls or things being thrown and something ending up broken. It was something simple- something a lot of children wouldn't even consider fun, as it was nothing more than a day full of baking.Emilia and Liviana had their heart set on making the perfect cake one would ever have. And so, that's what they did. They had planned, looking up recipe after recipe until there were sheets spread far and wide, all across the dining table. They had looked up reviews, using the comments to depict which ingredients were loved and which had caused the worst takes. And when they were finished studying the opinion of others, they had gotten to work mixing the recipes- using their research to

  • Re-Arranged   Chapter Forty Three | A Saint In The City Of Sin

Las Vegas, Nevada. The city of sin, and a place where Liviana didn't belong. She was the Santora sweetheart- an angel in the disguise of an ordinary person. A saint such as herself didn't belong amongst a city of sinners. She knew that- they all did. And yet, here she was. Sitting on a bed in a hotel room as she watched Violet through dresses and jewelry, deciding what it was they would be wearing for their first night out. "I've never been to a club before," Liviana informs, her nerves obvious in demeanor as the blonde glances over. "It's okay," Violet shrugs. "There's a first time for everything, right?" "I guess so," Liviana mutters, looking down at her lap where she picks at her nails. "I..." she breathes. "I don't know if it's a good idea, though." Violet nods. She had figured as much- and may even agree with the woman, but she wanted to let Liviana work through her feelings on her own. "Why not?" She asks, continuing to sort through their outfits as she waits for Liviana

  • Re-Arranged   Chapter Forty Four | Luka

Liviana Castelli has always been a bit of a loner. She wasn't a loner, as in that she was always alone or that she enjoyed being by herself- in fact, she hated being alone. In her eyes, being lonely was one of the worst feelings one could ever feel. It was too sad, too depressing. And so she always made sure to have someone next to her. A sibling, a friend, a boyfriend- someone she could spend her time with. Someone to save her from herself. And that was both an easy and a hard thing to do.For someone who was adored, admired, and envied wherever she went, Liviana had a love-hate relationship with every person she would meet. Girls were jealous, boys were horny, and both only wanted to use her. She was beautiful, kind, and so, so naïve.Her innocence was often mocked when she was growing up. The girls would pick fun at her for being so inexperienced, never knowing much about boys and sex and relationships. Boys would tease her, asking what it would take for her to let them teach her a

Before she knew it, and much faster than either cared to acknowledge, two hours had flown by and the two were soon forced to sit and face the intimidating discussion that, in all honesty, they couldn’t have dreaded more.Their morning had come to an end and there was no more running from it, no more avoiding their responsibility. They had matters to attend to, people to see and to discuss - people to punish. In order to place blame and punish anyone, there was a conversation to be had, precautions they needed to take. And so, for better or for worse, Liviana and Blaze sat down and got to work.At least, they tried to. But it turned out to be something much easier said than done, and even Blaze found himself struggling to strike up the conversation. The two sat quietly, the surrounding air packed with the tension of all those things that have gone unsaid. Questions, answers, accusations, and everything in between.Yet, despite the lingering words lost between them, neither could seem t

  • Re-Arranged   Chapter One Hundred and Nineteen

The night that started off as slow was anything but the moment her emotions started to roll. What started off as questionary, awkward, soon turned into something worse, something vulnerable. And that was her undoing.Livi hated it. Hated the feeling, the way it all unraveled, how she let it. She hated it so much that she began to feel as though she preferred the tension to the sensitivity, almost wanting to cling to it like some sort of shield, as if that could protect her from what was coming, what needed to be said, done.Of course, it couldn't. It all came crumpling down before she had so much as a chance to harvest it, use it. And then, just like that, she found herself back in his arms, the one place she shouldn't be, exactly where she didn't deserve to be.Being held by him was a luxury she almost couldn't afford. The safety he offered her, the comfort and the understanding, the pure kindness that came with the action of being wrapped up in his essence, was nearly too much. Much

One night. It was a deal Liviana made with herself, intending to enjoy the last bit of her husbands whiskey before climbing into the bed she prayed she would never have to leave - the outside world was just too dreadful and she couldn't handle the thought of having to face it again. So, for as long as she was allowed to, she was going to avoid it. She was going to crawl into bed and hide under the covers, and wait for the moment she could retreat into the world of her dreams.Fortunately, that moment was forced to wait when her husband decided to join her. He had strutted into the room with that sour question, "are you okay?" And in all honesty, she wasn't. She knew it, and he knew it too. He knew because he was just as exhausted as she was, just as miserable. And nothing sounded better than to drown in it with her by his side, washing down the bitter taste with a glass of whiskey and letting the sound of her voice drown out his woes. It was the perfect ending to a perfectly awful day

"You owe me."The words ring loudly in her head like some kind of siren, a warning and a reminder of her worst mistakes. And it was all because of one stupid party.Little Livi's heart drops and she's leaping toward her sister once again at the feeling, latching onto the older girl who offers a sense of safety despite her earlier harshness.Emilia is quick to return the sentiment, her free hand coming to rest over Liviana's that holds tightly onto her arm. She pulls her closer, the two taking a swift step back as she does so."Oh, my God- Dad!" Emilia gasps, wide eyes locking onto her dad's dark ones. She could already see it in there. The way the cogs spun in his brain, the anger that lurked beneath the green, something that she was sure was doing nothing more than fueling on some ridiculous plan, some way to spin this in his favor.Of course, she was right."What's going on here?" Alonzo questions, eyes bouncing between the two teenaged girls with a cold, calculating gaze. It was sh

The sound of the alarm blared loudly through the home, the sisters practically jumping out of their skin at the sound."The hell is that?" Liviana complains, hand moving to grip at her at the side of her head, where the throbbing only gets worse. The noise wasn't helping her haze at all."I don't know," Emilia murmurs, head twisting and turning in an attempt to catch the cause of the sound. She couldn't see anything out of place or hear a sound aside from the ringing of the security system echoing through the deserted halls."Whatever it is, make it stop!"The sound of her sister's whines has Emilia huffing, rolling her eyes at the show of her mess of priorities. "No," she replies simply, watching as the girl's face twists in confusion at the response."Why not?!" The pout resting on her lips was almost priceless, looking like a little kid who had just been told that they couldn't have their way. "It's loud, and- and it hurts! And worse? It's annoying!""It is." Emilia doesn't disagre

Creeping in through the window was a task that she could hardly handle sober, but after all those drinks she downed, she couldn't do it with her best effort."Livi- Livi!" Emilia whisper-shouts, hauling the girl up from the floor when she takes a tumble through the frame, nearly landing on her face from such a fall. "Hey, are you okay?"For a second, she's quiet, not speaking a word as her sister drags her to her feet, only huffing and puffing as she goes. Then, finally, she nods. "Yeah," she breathes, and all Emilia can do is frown. She wasn't convinced."Are you sure?" She asks, concern written across her face as she reaches out to touch her sister's, gently pushing the dark hair out of her eyes to get a better look at her. "You hit the ground pretty hard-""Fine- it's fine," she says, brushing it off with a small laugh. "I'm fine!"From behind her, Tino scoffs. "You don't sound fine." He couldn't help but disagree.Emilia hums, hating to agree with their brother - more so, hating t

"Alonzo?"The sound of his knuckles knocking harshly on the wood echoes loudly through the vacant hallway, startling Liviana, who lingers behind her husband, with its volume."You don't have to break it down, you know?" She mumbles the warning to her husband, who doesn't even spare her a glance. Instead, he does it again, his knuckles bouncing off the door even harsher this time than it had the last."Open up! We know you're in there!"A sigh can be heard on the other side, accompanied by some shuffling."We can hear you, you little-""Dad?" Livi calls out to him softly, cutting off her husband's shouts of anger and nudging him aside as she does so. "Are you okay in there?" She asks, pressing a hand and an ear to the door. "We know you're there, okay? We can hear you, and we need you to open up.""What for?" Alonzo calls after a beat of silence passes between the three. "I'm busy!""Oh, yeah? With what?" "What is he doing here?"Liviana is met with the question the second she slips into the room, her footsteps faltering at the sound. The raven spins around, eyes catching on her husband, who sits in the darkened corner of their bedroom. "Oh- Blaze," she breathes out his name, pressing a hand to her chest at the suddenness of his question. She hadn't expected him to be here, waiting. If anything, she thought he would have left - ran. "You scared me," Livi mutters, sighing at the thought. "Again..."This time, Blaze doesn't bother with an apology, instead, he pushes for an answer. "Well?" He asks, repeating the question. "What's he doing here?""I..." Liviana trails, clicking the door shut behind her and venturing slowly inside, hating to admit that she hadn't asked. The feeling of her husband's prying eyes pulls the disappointing answer from her before she has a chance to think of something better, shrugging as she says, "I don't know yet."Hearing this, Blaze frowns, repeating the answ

"Well, here we are!" Liviana announces, pausing outside of the closed door and pulling the man to a stop. "Your new bedroom," she says, cracking the door open and insisting he take a look for himself. "What do you think?""Wow," Luka mutters, strolling inside with a hum and a quick look around. "Nice place you've got here, Liv. Looks like it's fit for a king."She couldn't help but chuckle at his words. "Because it is," she tells, reminding the man of who it was built for. And Blaze Castelli would accept nothing but the best for himself and his wife. They deserved a nice place to call their home, and he made sure that that's exactly what they got. She could see the irritation flash across his face at the reminder, and she has to refrain from sighing as she switches from what seemed to be a sensitive topic. "So... do you like it?"Luka shrugs, eyes cast away from her own as he scans the bedroom he deemed his own. "Yeah," he answers after a moment of wonder. "I think that I do.""You th
