45. Past Trauma

Gideon’s POV

"Nikki." I reach out and greet him, he squeezes my hand and gives a gentle nod as Eya leaves us to talk.

"How are you doing?" Nikki asks, following me inside towards the sitting room. A smile tugs at the corner of my lips when I see Kitty sitting on a cushion on the hard wood floor coloring with Phoenix.

"I still have no idea, it's weird knowing she is gone; and it’s strange getting used to feeling everyone and everything," I answer, sitting down in a dark blue armchair near the stone fireplace.

"It will take time to get used to, Addy has always been here. It's also gonna take time getting used to you being our Moon God," Nikki admits, walking over to a bar in the corner of the room and pouring two drinks.

Receiving one of the drinks from Nikki as he sits in the adjacent chair and watches me. I ignore my friends gaze and stare at the amber liquid as I swirl it around the heavy glass tumbler, trying to piece together how all this shit happened.
