13. 2nd Chance

“Breakfast is ready, I’ll take these two and put them in their crate, Helena just set up with a warm dish of milk and a small bit of de-boned fish to introduce them to a little meat,” Mummo announces, I nod my head passing the kittens up to her.

“Thank you Mummo, I don’t know what I would do without you,” I look up at my grandmother thankful to have her. I get up reaching out for Gunnar when he smiles and gurgles holding his chubby hands out as when he sees me stand.

“You would be at the mercy of your mates, so you’d be doing well,” Mummo teases winking at Embry, Jonathan, and Osric who all smile and nod.

“I would be doomed,” I playfully tease my mates before Osric pulls me down onto his lap and I shriek as he playfully growls.

“Doomed huh?” He mocks me, tickling my ribs making sure to hold Gunnar and I close as I giggle and squirm in his arms.

“Yes,” I laugh while grabbing his hand and holding Gunnar to my chest to avoid dropping him.
