It clocks 3:30 p.m., reminding me that it is time to get ready for my entertainment job at the club. The monster left immediately after I told him that I would see him in the club today, and I intend to do exactly that. I am crossing my fingers in the hope of sealing this deal, however dangerous it seems. Whatever happens afterwards, I will face it head-on.

I walk into my bathroom and take a shower, which does not last more than twenty minutes. That is the minimum amount of time I can take in a shower. Sometimes, when I am not in a hurry, I can take double the time or more. I love that feeling of just standing under the shower and letting the warm water run on me. Anyway, that is not the case now because I need to be in the club by five. I get out of the shower and dress up as quickly as I can, and I toss everything necessary in my purse and step out, making a mental note to get my water bottle from the kitchen.

In the sitting area is my so-called friend, Nelly. She is doing her usual

"I know you won't believe me on this one, but this is the truth. I am not proud of what I did."What a sugar-coated, pathetic apology!"Yeah, sure! I mean, sorry is written all over you; that is why you are still here to prove you are sorry, right? Spare me the crap and get out of my way." I warn."I do not expect you to believe me, and I am fine with that. But just this once, Gia, believe me. Don't take this as coming from an enemy. Your enemies are right under your nose; be very careful." She says it in a weird tone, but I believe I have seen much worse of this deceptive face to fall for this."Yeah, I know. I am looking at one right now. You hate me so much just because of Ejay? Someone who can not even respect you?" I state. I don't even know why I'm wasting my precious time with this bitch."You are so wrong. I am no longer your enemy. I am a happy soul tonight, actually, from last night. For the first time since I woke up in that hospital bed, I am experiencing pure joy. I was able to convince Ejay yesterday to let me go to Mombasa. My deal is dangerous; I myself am scared of it, but I won't think of that for now. I do not want to ruin this happiness that I am basking in right now. I am looking forward to my stay in Mombasa and hoping that I will be able to savor some incredible aura for those seven days.Do you know what else is more exciting? I pleaded with Ejay to get his goons off my back during my whole stay in Mombasa. I don't want to walk around with ugly, fugly black monkeys guarding me as if I am the daughter of a mafia king. They might scare everyone away from me, and I am planning to have the best days of my life there before returning to this cage again. Nothing naughty, though; don't get me wrong there. So, he finally agreed, but I swear it took me to become a confounded beggar to get him to agree, and

"What the hell do you want?" I snap at Mayleen, who is standing at my bedroom door. If only I knew it was her, I wouldn't have bothered to open the door."Peace offering." She is holding two cups of coffee. Since when did we become this friendly to offer each other coffee? And isn't it too late to make peace after everything that has happened?"That might be poisoned, for all I care." I retorted to her."Come on." I leave the door open and walk back to my bed, and she invites herself in behind me and shuts the door. This woman is so confusing. What is she up to now?"Say what you want and leave. I was retiring to bed before you decided to disturb me." I say. "I have a lot to tell you, so you need things." She hands me one cup of coffee as she starts to sip the other."I want the other one." I say. She might have put some poison in mine. The amount of hatred she has for me is too much. I don't even know why I am not kicking her ass out. She hands me the coffee she was drinking, which

I budge into Ejay's office with a lot of distress and a sunken heart. I never thought I would ever see my friend in such a condition, so hopeless and tired. "Are you okay?" Ejay asks, standing from his chair to walk to me. I give him a hug. He will be my boyfriend in just eight days, so I should start getting used to the couple's things as early as now. I give him a kiss too, and he holds me in his hands while he sits on his desk. "You look worried. What is it?""Nora is not well." I reply without beating around the bush."Oh. Why? What's wrong with her?""Well, her night did not go too well with her client. She said he was so hard on her, and now she is in pain. She looks terrible." I explain."But they know the rule here. It is their duty to submit to the client. However he wants it, they should willingly submit. We get to Ejay's car and drive back to the club. I take a look in the driver's mirror to confirm my look. I look just as I thought—horrible. The eye blinks are not doing any justice to my red eyes. I can't even tell what time I slept last night, but I am sure I did not sleep for more than three hours. I even have a headache. The monkey beside me is holding my hand to comfort me, as if it is helping. The truth is, I still want to cry. I do not know how much crying is enough for Nora; all I know is that I have not cried enough. We drive through the gate, and today, Ejay is not even greeting his goons, as if he is affected one bit by Nora's death. I very well know that it means nothing to him, so he should cut the acting. It does not suit him. Getting out of the car, he holds my hand, and we walk inside the club. I don't know where they take the dead bodies, because when I asked Ejay what would happen to her body, he said they would take care of it. I don't know what that means. Do they

The flight attendant announces that we are landing, and we all stop chatting and hold on to our seats. For someone like me who just bonded on a flight for the first time, as far as I know, I hold on really tight. I am even shaking in my seat. I remember almost screaming when the plane took off at the airport. I adjust my seat belt, swallowing the fear, and hold on tight to my seat, closing my eyes and only opening them when the plane touches the ground. I breathe out a heavy sigh and relax. I hope I will have more chances to fly so that I can get used to this. Standing outside the plane with my bag at the airport in Mombasa, I must say I love this feeling of being in a new place. Everything looks new; even the evening air I am breathing right now feels new. I feel fresh. I feel free. I feel reborn. It's like I am not the same Gia I was before I bonded with the plain. I love this feeling. I love this Gia Wilson that is standing at the airport right now."So, we can get one cap? I think

  • RESCUED BY THE DON'S BROTHER   THE FIRST SHOW

I did great shopping yesterday at the mall and made sure to pick the best dresses. The price was so pocket-friendly compared to Nairobi, which enticed me to buy more than I had planned. Not that money is a problem for me because my account is loaded, but you know that feeling when you go shopping and you find the prices are much lower than you expected? You end up buying more than you had planned to. That, coupled with the freedom of being able to walk around without being watched, got the better of me. I came back with huge shopping bags weighing me down. With everything that I bought, the dresses, both medium-length and floral gowns, the shoes and inner wear, and some shorts and light tops to wear when we are not in the show, I will not need to use this trash that came from Ejay anymore. I won't be stinking at him. I might as well throw them away in the dustbin. Nkt! We are having breakfast at this hotel with my boys, I mean, my companions, and Jimmy is still insistent about having
