After Yoori's private plane landed at the City X International Airport, she donned her black facemask, dove from the plane, and exited. She pulled her collars up and tightened her black scarf around her neck. With her hands shoved deep in her trouser pockets, she turned her face away from the biting winds and strode towards the black SUV that awaited her.
"Miss Yoori, do we go to the hotel first or meet with Sir D'wain?" Her assistant asked from behind. Sir D'wain was the tycoon they had entered into a business deal with.
"We have two hours before meeting him." "We should go to the hotel, refresh ourselves, and then meet him later on after lunch." She replied as the car drove away.
Two hours later, Yoori and her assistant, Kelvin, sat patiently on the top floor of D'Wain Designs Enterprises, waiting for him. Half an hour later, he walked in, two well-dressed men trailing behind him. One on the left carried a black briefcase, while the one on the right came empty-handed. Judging from his well-defined muscular body, Yoori guessed he was his bodyguard.
"Sir D'wain, you are finally here?" Yoori half asked, half stated, with a light chuckle escaping from her mouth, "Just the other day over the phone, you lectured my assistant about the importance of time management. Tsk! " "I never expected you to be the one to fail terribly at keeping your time." She said. Her lips were pressed into a thin line.
Sir D'Wain stared at her with shock written all over his face. After regaining his composure, he cleared his throat and said, "Heaven bless me." Who is this kid we are having here? Kelvin, she must be your kid; teach her manners. He complained with a visible frown on his face, and Yoori giggled.
With his head bowed down, Kelvin apologized to Yoori before facing Sir D'wain, "She is Miss Yoori, the anonymous tycoon behind YJ Worldwide Companies." Kelvin explained, and Sir D'Wain and his minions' lips parted for a shocking gasp.
"What?" they asked in unison.
After a short, throbbing silence, D'wain closed the gap between them, extended his right hand forward for a handshake, and said, "Miss Yoori, I may say I am extremely thrilled to have met you in person. Welcome to City X. I had expected to meet Kelvin and James because they are the ones I have been meeting all this time. I never knew the big boss would tag along today. "I could have arranged for someone to pick you up today." He bowed his head. "And I may say, I expected the tycoon behind YJ's companies to be a bit old; who knew heaven had a surprise for me?"
"No, no, Sir D'Wain, please don't bow down unto me." You are old enough to be my grandfather, and whatever I said earlier, I never meant it. Also, sending someone to pick me up was not necessary at all; after all, no one knows who YJ is apart from you and my assistants." She said, clearing her throat, and continued, "I may look young, but my business skills are much older, about a hundred years." She jocked, and they all laughed.
That is so polite of you, Miss Yoori. Shall we?" Sir D'Wain said they could go right away to talk about their business.
"Miss Yoori, before you go back to Bradley City, do come over to my mansion for dinner." Sir D'Wain told her after finalizing their deal, and Yoori promised to go by saying, "I will, Sir."
After her promise to Sir D'Wain that she would visit him the next day, they parted ways. At six o'clock in the afternoon, Kelvin knocked at Yoori's door. "What is it?" She asked, frowning, "I remember asking you not to disturb me." She said
"I'm sorry, Miss Yoori. "You have a message from Sir D'Wain." He said so, bowing slightly.
"Mmh!" She urged him to continue rubbing her eyes. After tossing on her bed for a really long time, she was finally drifting off to slumber land, but who knew her assistant could deprive her of that chance?
"He said we won't be attending only dinner tomorrow." He apologized for forgetting to tell you that it's also his youngest granddaughter's birthday party. He said one should be accompanied by a date, and the theme for the party is "royal blue."
"What a cunning old fox." She blurtered. "Ask my designer to prepare the whatever cloth it would be, and about the date... "I don't have anyone, so you will fill the gap." She said, and Kelvin gasped.
"Me?" He asked, his eyes wide in shock.
"No! Your shadow. "Who else, huh?" She said, closing the door on his face before he could say more.

With a lazy yawn, Yoori slipped off her bed and stretched herself. She straightened her bedsheets, folded the quilt, and arranged the pillows. When she was satisfied, she walked towards the bathroom for a cold shower. With the cold water splashing all over her skin, she felt her muscles relaxing as she scrubbed herself gently.
"Oh goodness, did my outfit arrive?" She asked no one in particular, wrapping the white towel around her slender body. Walking back to the bedroom, she sat in front of a mirror and dried herself. She grabbed a blow-dryer and a comb to straighten her shoulder-length black, curly African hair. When she was satisfied with the result, she tied it into a high ponytail, bringing her small, round face into perfect view. Applying some nude pink lipstick to her already moist lips, she smiled, her white set of teeth sparkling under the morning rays of sun that had streamed in through the open curtains.
She didn't have to spend more time on her skin since it had a perfect, milky white glow. She took a lemon-scented body spray and sprayed it on her neck, behind her ears, and on her wrist. When she was done, she walked towards the wardrobe to see if the dress or whatever her designer had made for her had arrived. Yoori had never fancied dresses because whatever she wore fit her perfectly, but what lay in her wardrobe that day caught her eye.
It was a mermaid-style royal blue dress with silver glitters all over it. She raised it for a closer look and realized it had a sharp, long v-neck. It was backless, too. Walking towards the mirror, she tried it on and was astonished at how perfectly it suited her. It hugged her curves perfectly and flowed down, sweeping the floor as she walked.
"Oh, my goodness, Vivi is definitely blessed." "What a nice piece." She praised her designer, swaying her hips like a model. With her head held high, tummy tucked in, shoulders back, and straight back, she walked round and round her room, took some pictures, and uploaded them to her social media accounts.
When she was ready, done, and satisfied, she walked out of the room and knocked on Kelvin's door.
"Lazy bones, are you still sleeping?" She called him, and the door was opened.
"What?" She asked him, distracting him from his shock. He had his mouth wide open, and a fly could go in, but he was never to know.
"You... you are beautiful." He stammered.
"Are you trying to say all these days I've never been beautiful until today?" She asked, her hands akimbo.
"No, Miss Yoori. You have always been beautiful." He said, staring at her boobs. Yoori followed his eyes, and a sigh escaped her mouth. Stretching her hands, she grabbed him by his ears and twisted them.
"Ouch! Let me go. "I am not lying." He groaned in pain.
"Do you know why am doing this?" She asked, increasing the pressure.
"Yes." "Yes, for staring at your beautiful boobs." He said, gulping nervously.
"What? Unbelievable!" She muttered, letting go of him. "Hurry up, we need to leave as soon as possible." "I don't want to be the center of attention," she said, pushing him back to his room.
As Yoori and her assistant walked into the venue, murmurs broke out in the crowd as everyone craned their necks to take a look at them. Reporters chased them, asking if they were models. That's when Yoori looked at her assistant and was surprised. His long hair, which she had never noticed, was combed neatly and tied into a low ponytail, and he had black goggles on his face, making him look more handsome. The expensive royal blue suit he wore matched perfectly with his snow-white skin. His moist red lips glittered under the natural light, looking yummy.
"Idiot!" "Collect yourself, girl!" She slapped herself when she started fantasizing about kissing him.
Her high heels clicked as they walked; unconfortable under so many gazes, she wrapped her hands around Kelvins's and buried her head on his arm.
"Who is that girl with Kelvin?" "She is beautiful." A person said within the crowd.
She had people saying things as they walked forward. It was not new to her. She expected people to recognize Kelvin since he had been taking care of her companies, so he was well known. Snubbing the reporters' questions about whether they were a couple, they strode in towards the mansion.
"Sir D'wain, we are here." Yoori called upon walking in.
"Nice to see you again, Yoori." Mmh! I knew you had no date. I was eagerly waiting to see whom you would bring, but you never cease to amaze me. "Poor Kelvin, you have to assume the boyfriend's and the assistant's positions at the same time." He said so, and they all laughed.
"That's what I'm paying him for," Yoori said.
"Come with me, Yoori." "I want to introduce you to someone." Sir D'Wain said, dragging her.
"Who, sir?" She asked, craning her neck to see who it was.
"There he is." He pointed to a young man sitting lazily on a sofa, his left leg on top of the other. He had a book in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other, which he sipped leisurely.
"Ocean, come meet the girl I told you about." He called him. The guy raised his head, and Yoori gasped, becoming nervous immediately. The guy was Jas. She had left him in Bradley City. The other night they had sex in her office, and the next day she was meeting him in City X. "When did he come?" She asked herself inwardly.
"By the expression on both of your faces, I guess you have already met." Sir D'wain said, jerking Yoori from her shocking state.
Jas followed Yoori's hands, which was wrapped around Kelvin's, and folded his fists. Yoori found herself pulling her hands away and saying, "Yes, we have met, but I know him as Jas." She spoke after a while.
"Hello, we meet again, Yoori." He said indifferently, stretching out his hand for a handshake, which Yoori accepted. He then walked closer to her and whispered in her ear, "It's only been a few hours since we were apart, but you've gotten yourself a new bedbuddy." Did you two have sex? Anyway, judging from the way you had buried your face in his arms, I guess you had." Upon saying this, he walked away agrily.
"Why are you angry?" "It's not like we are lovers." Yoori wanted to tell him, but he was already gone. That was not the first time he got angry with her for getting close to another guy. She knew she would have to pay dearly to win him back.
Jas strode toward his car, mumbling inaudible words. His face was flushed due to anger, and his assistants, who were following him behind, backed off when they saw veins standing out upon his face. People looked at him as he matched forward, his fists bailed into fists. He wanted to spill blood. Only his inner self knew how much he wanted to grab Yoori's date and punch him on the face till he passed out."How dare you, Yoori?" He asked, pummeled his car window, and broke it into pieces. "How dare you?" He asked again. He had tried to restrain himself many times from getting jealous, but he couldn't.His mind churned whenever he thought he would lose her. What he never understood was why he would be afraid to lose something that wasn't his.His blood boiled when he spotted her talking to a man. He wanted to be selfish. He only wanted her to talk to him, but that was not possible. He was always filled with fury whenever he caught her with other men.He had lost count of the number of me
Yoori gasped as desires overcame her body; her chest heaved upwards as she grabbed a fistful of Jas's hair. "Jas.." She moaned, pulling him much closer.Jas captured her lips and kissed her roughly; he bit her lower lip, causing a fresh metallic taste of blood to savor on their tongues. He then licked the tiny wound he had caused, earning a painful whimper and a pleasurable moan from Yoori at the same time.Yoori felt her whole body burning with pain. Jas had been rough on her since he pushed her onto the bed. Deep down, she wanted to scream and tell him how much he was hurting her, but she decided to let go of the thought. That tiny voice in her head made her believe it was her fault. She had attended the birthday party with another man. Though there was no romantic relationship between them, the media exaggerated the issue. Some reporters made people believe she was married to her assistant, who accompanied her on dates. Some even had proof in the form of edited pictures that they w
A lazy, tired yawn escaped Yoori's lips as she tried to get up from the bed. The covers generating warmth all over her naked body slipped away as biting cold wind waved through her marked milky white skin. She massaged her temples and swung her legs off the bed, but a strong hand restrained her.She tried to wriggle herself out of the tight grip, but a wave of pain surged all over her body, and a painful yelp escaped through her mouth. She felt like she had participated in a tough battle that had left her injured all over. Knitting her brows together, she wondered what had actually happened, and the previous day's events slowly flashed through her mind. Her attendance at Sir D'Wain's youngest granddaughter's birthday party, the reporters' gossip that she was married to her assistant, her fight with her bedbuddy, and the insane sex they had—covering her mouth to stop herself from yelling at him—she trailed her eyes down her body and gasped. She finally realized where the pain was comin
"Pet, are you ready?" Jas's deep voice asked"Pet?" Yoori inquired, chuckling, "I thought I was a doll." She then said, strengthening Jas's tie."Mmmh! Not anymore." He said, helping her to button up her blouse."Why so?" She asked again, tucking her blouse into the black rip-jean trousers she wore."Dolls, especially a beautiful doll like you, can be owned by anyone, and on that note, you'll be my pet from now on, and as you know, pets only have a single master in their lifetime." "So... you will forever belong to me, pet." He explained, buckling his belt and wearing his million-dollar black leather shoes to match his black suit and the golden watch he wore shimmering on his left arm, blinding anyone who could look at it.Yoori was surprised at how adamant he was about making her his; he had been talking about owning her nonstop. Shaking her head, she busied herself, ignoring him.She had decided to go back to Bradley City because of her work. Although she wanted to enjoy herself in
A sound of rushing water woke Yoori up. She massaged her temples and rubbed her eyes, looking at her surroundings. She was in a room much bigger than hers, which was painted a light blue color. The bed she was sleeping on was so big that it could accommodate more than five people. Pillows of different colors and shapes lay carelessly on the bed, giving off a lovely, accommodating nature. The light blue on the walls was so breath-taking and mysterious that it made her feel like she was in heaven. The mahogany brown table, not far from the bed, was occupied by different business books. She could read a few, like the passion of a businessman, how to be a business tycoon, and what a businessperson needs to do."I never knew this guy was my fan." "Wonders shall never end." She beamed inwardly. Yoori was also an author. She had written a lot of books in different genres, but under another name. In fact, she was thinking of opening a writing company where she could sell scripts to the entert
A tired sigh escaped Jas's lips. For eight continuous hours, he had been sitting behind his desk, his nose buried in files that rested comfortably in his hands. He had a lot of deals to sign. He wasn't aware of when the files were increasing. Whenever he saw that he was about to get done, another file appeared, rendering him tired.Yawning hungrily, he stretched his arms, rested his back on the leather chair he was sitting on, and swung on it. "Three files to go!" He sighed, a smile appearing on his ice-cold face. His hands found their way to the drawer just beside him and pulled it out. He picked up his phone and unlocked it to check the time. His heart skipped a beat when his eyes came into contact with his screen saver. It was a picture of Yoori pouting. She had pinkish cream smeared all over her mouth, looking like a moustache. Chuckling sweetly, he kept his phone aside and buried his nose in the files again. Memories of the day he snapped that picture started flowing through his
Yoori sniffed, buried her head in her hands, and broke into another wave of tears. She had been crying non-stop since she found Jas and another woman getting intimate. She didn't see any reason to cry over him or get sad at him since they were not lovers, but she couldn't stop her tears from brimming out of her beautiful brown eyes."Don't cry, Yooori, please." Her inner self begged her. Biting her lower lips to stop a sniff, she winced as blood oozed out of her lips. She had wounded herself again, right on the same spot she had bitten herself at first. "The wounds hurt, but not more than my hurt." She whistled, calming herself down.A violent tremor passed through her body, making her tremble wildly like coconut leaves in a wild storm. Hiccupping, she rose to her feet and went in the house to drink some water. When she raised her head from her hands, that's when she realized how long she had been sitting in the garden crying. The night had already descended like a violet cloth, makin
It has been a week, and Yoori is still giving Jas the silent treatment. Although they slept in the same bed and cuddled all night, she had yet to talk to him. Jas made sure not even a single chance slipped through his hands. He apologized to her for every second, minute, and hour. He was adamant about getting her to forgive him. What he couldn't understand was why Yoori was not refusing her. Like the other day, she didn't push him away when he tried to kiss. She let him go all the way with her. That was the most gentle sex they have ever had. He apologized in between each kiss they shared and each thrust he took at her.Jas supported himself in the bed and watched her as she slept peacefully. He wished things would go the way they were. Her smile, childishness, and stubbornness are what he missed. The tight hugs she gave him anytime he picked her up from her office were what he craved more than anything. He also missed her bubbly nature. He loved the way she bubbled with joy whenever
"Which part of the world did she take her to?" Jas asked the nurse. The news that Yoori's mother was still alive and had been flown to City X sent a new wave of hope surging through him.Yoori, on the other side, was so happy that she couldn't control her tears. Just a moment ago she was sad, thinking she would never see her mother again, but that confession made her happy, and she was left feeling like the luckiest being on earth at that hour. According to Jas's dad, her mother had never seen her because the moment she was born, her aunt had stole her, and that's what bothered her. How will her mother recall her if she has never seen her? When she opened her eyes to see the world after she was born, she met her aunt's eyes staring down at her, and she had been referring to her as her mother since then. She knew it would be impossible for her real mother to know who she was, but she still hoped she would recognise her."They say blood is thicker than water." "I hope our blood will con
Yoori stared at Jas with her mouth wide open. "What do you mean by wanting to tell me about my real parents?" She asked, sucking a deep breath. "I mean the people who gave birth to you, not the ones who took care of you all your life." He sighed. Yoori had been telling him since they met that the people who took care of her since she was born may not be her real parents because of how they treated her, and he always asked her not to think that way. It was so heartbreaking that he was the one who had to break such bad news to her. "Listen, babe," he stroked her face, "my dad wanted to see me, right?" He is the one who told me all this. He claimed that he knew about your parents because they had been friends for a long time, and he is the one who knows who your real parents are."So where are they?" I would like to meet them. "Please, Jas," she begged."Of course we will go and look for them, honey, but you should know that we will only be looking for your mother be
"Gosh!" Yoori yelled the moment she tried to sit on the bed. She was so tired, and her whole body burned. Yawning, she rubbed her eyes and looked at that particular place beside her; it was empty. She ran her hands over the sheets, hoping for the warmth to rub over her palms, but the place was cold. It seemed like he had woken up a bit early. The phone rang, bringing her to her senses. A thousand missed calls were displayed on her screensaver. What astonished her more was that the calls weren't from the same person but from different people. Most of them were the many business friends she had met in the few years she has been living in Bradley City. Her eyes also caught a particular group name, which made her heart skip a bit. "The worldwide gossip group." She gasped, jumped from the bed, and opened her computer. "God, has Kelvin lied again?" She couldn't believe it. Fear gripping her heart, she screamed the first name that came to her mouth, and a handsome figure, tying an apron over
The moment Jas's plane landed at Bradley International Airport, his blue eyes darted at the far corner to look for someone. And just like he had expected, the figure was there eagerly waiting for him, with both her hands clutched around her tummy. She was nervous. She does that whenever she is afraid of something or has no idea how to face a situation. Before his plane flew away, he sent her a message about coming back. She was surprised because the other day he had told her he'd be coming back after a month. And of course, he told her how his dad chased him out of the mansion just to go back to her. A voice whispered against his left ear, tickling him, and he cursed, "What the heck, Winter?" He had insisted on flying back with him, which he didn't refuse."Our girl is over there, waiting for us." He ran away. Jas snubbed him and pretended like he hadn't heard anything. Winter was busy trying to get on his nerves, and he wasn't going to give him that chance. After taking his luggage,
"I don't like what you're doing, my little delicate pumpkin." An old man, with his handsome face twisted into a mocking smile, said. The handsome figure sitting on the bed turned around to look at him and frowned. "Dad!" He cried, walking away. He has been addressed by that name since he was a toddler, and now that he is twenty-four, he doesn't see any need for that name. He was a grown man, but no matter how hard he tried to make his father understand, he just snubbed him. "Is my little delicate pumpkin sad?" "He liked that name so much when he was young that he even got angry when I called him by a different name." The man laughed, following his son behind. "That was long ago." I don't want to hear that name again. He frowned even more, trying to outrun his dad, who was a few steps away from him. "I'll stop calling you by that name when you tell me why you're torturing that Yoori girl." "Isn't she your girlfriend?" "Why are you making her worried?" He was asked. That handsome old
After sending a goodnight message to her boyfriend, Jas, Yoori arranged her files and prepared to leave for home. When he was done making arrangements, cleaning her office, and locking all the doors in the company, she proceeded downstairs towards the garage. Usually, it's the security guard who does all that. She had made it clear to him that he should clean her office and lock all the doors once every worker had left for home, but that day it was a duty since she had received a message that the security guard was involved in an accident while going to the office and was hospitalized. On that thought, she grabbed her phone and called Tia, the security guard's wife, and asked about his condition. She sighed in relief when she was told that he had started responding to medications. Earlier, when the guard was wheeled to the emergency room, the doctor and nurses were worried since he was not responding to medications. In fact, they thought that he was about to lose his soul to the demon
He was sad, angry, and tired. He couldn't understand why the Kelvin guy would want to manipulate the press. Didn't he get the hint given by Yoori in her speech? Why would he still want to make himself known as Yoori's boyfriend? "Bro, are you okay?" A voice jerked Jas. He turned off the television and sighed heavily. "Winter, do you know how many times I have warned Yoori about her assistant? Before that video had gone viral, I had forbidden her from leaving the house. In fact, she was to choose between working with that asshole or losing the deal she was about to negotiate. Because she knows how much her tears affect me, she spent a lot of time with lots of crocodile tears schooling me on how important it was for her to attend the so-called meeting she had, and on that notice, she said it was important if her assistant joined her. In which I agreed, but under one condition: she was to send that fella packing once they were done. But no, do you know what she did?" Jas turned toward h
"Jas, where are you going?" With a shaky voice, she asked."Jas, are you leaving me?" She couldn't believe that Jas had packed all his luggage's and was leaving the mansion. She had done everything she could to earn his forgiveness, but she failed. Looking at him, she slumped on the floor, buried her head in her palms, and cried. Why is it that everyone she treasures and adores so much always turns their backs on her? At that time, as Jas ignored her, carried his suitcases, and exited their room, she was shocked. Never had she thought that one day she would sit down and watch Jas leave her. Something inside her made her believe it was her fault. He warned her multiple times against her cunning personal assistant, but she turned stubborn and now her stubbornness had made her lose the most precious thing in her life. She followed Jas behind as he dragged his suitcases down the stairs; when he reached the door, he handed them over to his driver, closed the door behind him, and left her i
Yoori groaned in pain as she tried hard to wake up. She massaged her temples, checked her surroundings, and frowned. The room she was sleeping in, though it was as big as the one she shares with Jas, was a bit different. Instead of the black walls with white stripes she sees every day when she wakes up, the ones she saw that day were light blue. The room had no warmth, which she received every day at home."Jas, you changed the room overnight?" She asked, sitting down, but no one answered her. "Jas, are you in the bathroom?" She asked when she heard the splashing sounds of water. With her eyes still closed, she staggered towards the bathroom. "Honey, my head is aching." "What happened last night?" She asked. She bumped into something hard and cold. Shooting her eyes open, she gasped as she looked at the man standing in front of her.She rubbed her eyes until they hurt, but the man didn't change. It seemed like she was not dreaming. The man with a smile on his face pulled her back to
