Who Is My Father?

ANNA

Four years later.

"I would love to follow you to work, Mum," Andy murmured, wrapping his little hands around my legs. His lips were pouted as he stared up at me while I transferred his meal into his lunch box.

I let a cheerful smile beautify my face. "Don't say that, okay? You have to go to school and don't worry, I will make arrangements to change your school, okay?" I reassured him as I bent down   to his height level. He nodded his head.

"But promise me that you will tell me who my dad is if I should go to school today?" he said, and my smile began to fade. The warmth in my eyes dimmed, replaced with a cold gaze. Not today.  Why does he always bring that up?

I can't tell him that; over my dead body will that happen. I would rather lose my wolf than tell him his father's name, let alone take him there.

"Daddy Mike is here!" Mandy, my daughter, yelled as I turned to look in that direction. I saw her running towards him, almost falling as she hugged him.

Seeing him brought a smile to my face and brightened me up.

It has been eight years since I left Moon Rose Pack. I returned to the orphanage where I was     raised, and there I met a very kind old woman who sympathized with me after hearing my story. She took me into her home and provided me with a place to stay.

I entered the human city of New York and pursued a medical degree at the university. I graduated with a Ph.D. in medicine and surgery.

During my time at the university, I met a man named Mike. He was the person who saved my   youngest child, Sandy, from attempting to shift at a very young age. It was abnormal for a child to experience such a thing, and it happened two years ago, the day we discovered that

werewolves existed.

I had tried to hide the fact that we were werewolves, as I wanted to avoid questions about their father and the challenges they might face in a human school. However, it proved impossible to

keep it from them. They were intelligent enough to research wolves on the internet and also asked Mike about it.

I stood up and walked towards him. He greeted me with his charming smile, revealing his deep dimples, as he wrapped his hands around my waist and I wrapped mine around his neck.

"Good morning, love," he said, gently kissing my cheek.

"I thought you wouldn't come today since you stayed at the hospital throughout the night," I said, acknowledging his presence.

"My kids will be late for school, and you have an important surgery today, right?" he asked, to which I nodded. He was the Alpha of the Red Crescent Pack and also the owner of the

renowned Red Crescent Hospital in New York City. Humans were unaware that the hospital's name originated from his pack, as they knew nothing about the existence of werewolves.

He was incredibly kind and lovable. We started dating two years ago, and he trained me well     when I joined his team at Red Crescent Hospital. Through his guidance, I became a successful and well-known surgeon in the city.

Now, I live in a mansion with my adorable triplets. Although I never forgot the help of the kind old woman who took me in, she sadly passed away due to cancer.

"As much as I like Daddy Mike, I can never see him as my daddy," Andy, the stubborn one among my children, declared all of a sudden. I noticed Mike's happy face change to a sad  expression as he slightly lowered his head.

It angered me, and I tried to scold Andy, but Mike held me back. "No, let him be. Don't scold your children, okay? I understand," he said, comforting me.

"Go and apologize to Daddy Mike now!" Sandy, my youngest daughter, insisted, while Mandy nodded in agreement and tried to pull Andy towards Mike's side.

I gently removed his hands from mine and went to Andy's side since he wasn't complying with  his sisters. His adamant stance about his father annoyed me, and it broke my heart to see that he didn't appreciate Mike's kindness.

Taking a deep breath, I knelt so I wouldn't come across as harsh. "Look at me," I pleaded, placing my hand on his jaw and turning his face towards mine.

"Please, dear, I raised you to know how to respect your elders and treat people kindly. What you just said isn't fair. It not only hurt him, but it hurt me as your mother," I whispered. Andy kept his  head down, his forehead furrowed.

I was about to say more when he abruptly left me and ran to his place, kneeling. I was taken aback and stood up, unsure of what was happening.

"Please forgive me, Mike," Andy murmured, his head still lowered. Mike smiled and lifted him, holding him with one hand as if he were still a two-year-old child.

Mandy and Sandy ran towards them, holding hands. The two girls were closer to Mike compared to Andy, the only boy among them.

They turned to wave goodbye to me, and I waved back. Mike blew me a flying kiss before they all zoomed off together. At least I wouldn't be late for my surgery, and I had my car.

I picked up my bag and walked out of the house. My car was parked outside the gate since it was undergoing repairs. I strode towards the gate, opened my Lamborghini, got inside, and   zoomed off.

It was already late at night, and I had finished my work for the day. Thank the Moon Goddess that all the surgeries went well. I felt exhausted and stretched out my body to relieve some

tension.

As I stood up from my seat and grabbed my bag, ready to leave my office, I made my way to the counter and signed the paper indicating that I had completed my work for the day. I was eager    to go home and rest.

However, just as I was about to open my car door, a hand abruptly stopped me. I furrowed my brow, my tiredness evident on my face, as I turned to face the unexpected interruption. Two men stood before me, appearing quite formidable.

"And how may I help you?" I asked, staring at them, perplexed. They handed me a letter, and I hesitated before taking it from their hands. I wondered what it could be as I opened the letter.

Before I could even finish reading it, they summarized its contents for me. "Alpha Alfred orders you to come back to his pack."

As I stared at the letter, the words spoken by one of the men lingered in my mind. I clenched my fists, feeling a surge of anger, and tore the paper into tiny pieces, throwing them at them.

"Well, tell your Alpha that I, Anna, won't even set foot in his pack," I bellowed, my voice filled with defiance. They exchanged glances and let out sighs.

"He seriously needs your help, and..."

"Even if every member of his pack is on the brink of death, I will not come. Do you understand?" I yelled the words emanating from the depths of my being. The audacity of Alfred to think he

could order me back into his pack after everything he had done to me.

I didn't know whom they were speaking to on the phone just now, but they started advancing towards me, causing fear to well up within me. I instinctively took a step back, my heart

pounding in my chest.
