ALPHA RYDER'S POV

As the elder declared the meeting adjourned, I felt an inexplicable pull towards April. My instincts screamed at me to protect her, to keep her safe from harm. I moved closer, my eyes locking onto hers as she sat up, her vision stabilizing. For a brief, electrifying moment, our gazes met, and I was transported to a dreamlike state.

Memories flashed like fireflies in the background of her eyes, my wolf, Onyx, and a strange, familiar landscape. It was as if I'd seen it all before, yet I knew I hadn't. The vision vanished as quickly as it appeared, leaving me with more questions than answers, but one thing I'm nearly sure I is that she felt what I felt too.

My rational mind struggled to make sense of it, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of déjà vu. It was as if our souls were reuniting, yet I knew we'd never met before. I felt a deep connection, a sense of belonging, and I knew I had to keep her close.

I took advantage of the chaos and lifted April onto my shoulder,

The sound of their growls and snarls filled the air, their battle intense and ferocious. For a moment, I considered intervening, to stop the fight before it spiraled out of control. But then I hesitated, realizing that this confrontation had been a long time coming. I trusted Rage's instincts, but I couldn't understand why he was so adamant that we claim this Omega. She seemed to have no reservations about who she was with, and it infuriated me that we had to wait in line for Ryder's leftovers. If it weren't for the oaths treaty that bound us, I would have ripped Ryder to shreds right then and there. I was seething with rage, but I kept my cool, knowing that losing control would only make things worse. The girl, April, was quiet with embarrassment, and I didn't say a word to her until we got home. April's POV I sobbed late into the night, my heart heavy with the accumulation of catastrophes that had followed me everywhere, beyond my control. The tears stung my eyes, and I couldn't hold them back. But as I cried, I began to hum a tune, and before I realized it, I was singing. It was a song I hadn't sung in a long time, one that told the story of a lost pup found by driads and wood nymphs in the mountains. The pup grew up, but its fate was a tragic one it devoured the children of the very creatures that had taken it in. The song was a lament, a sad tale of a mother past her fertile years, mourning the loss of her only child to a stray pup they had shown kindness to. My voice tore through the darkness, echoing off the walls of the cave room.I sang on, the melody pouring out of me like a river, carrying with it all my sorrow, pain, and longing. The song became a cry for help, a plea to the universe to end my suffering, to take away the pain that had become my constant companion.
