Ignoring Him.

Elora's POV.

The second I got into my room, I forced myself to sit on my bed, a scoff escaping my lips as I stared at the nightstand. The room was dimly lit, casting shadows that seemed to mock my raging heart.

“Come to fight alongside them? What a joke! Just so he could take over my pack? What does he think of me? A fool?” I muttered to myself, running my fingers through my hair in frustration. The tangled strands seemed to mirror the chaos in my mind.

I had claimed that I was coming into the room to think about something different, something unrelated, to clear my head.

But who was I kidding? The thoughts of Killian wanting my help were inescapable, clinging to my mind like a relentless shadow.

The memory of Luke holding onto my hand and begging me to come fight with the pack replayed vividly in my mind.

His earnest eyes, the desperation in his voice; it all came rushing back. For that split second, I felt a wave of pity wash over me, not just for him but for myself as well.
