Elora's POV.

Staring at the meal laid out before me on the table, I couldn't help but let out a heavy sigh. The events of the night kept replaying in my mind like a relentless movie reel, each scene etching deeper into my thoughts despite my efforts to push them away.

It was supposed to be a simple dinner, a time to unwind and enjoy a meal with friends. But instead of savouring the food in front of me, my mind was consumed by memories that refused to fade.

"Elora, are you okay?" Bryce's sudden question pulled me out of my reverie. I lifted my eyes to meet his concerned gaze, realising he had been studying me for a while.

His plate, half-empty, stood in stark contrast to mine, barely touched. Guilt washed over me as I noticed how distracted I had been, lost in my thoughts while everyone else around me enjoyed their meal.

"I... I'm fine," I replied hesitantly, trying to dismiss his concern with a weak smile. But Bryce knew me well enough to see through the facade.

"You don't seem fine,"
