~ Reagan's POV~

There is a famous saying that goes, "Where there's smoke, there's fire." It means that if there are signs or indications that something is wrong, there is probably a bigger problem at hand.

Reagan had a feeling that something was off as soon as he entered Lumiére's office. Because First, Lumiére was known for being an organized person, but his office was a complete mess. Papers were scattered everywhere, books were haphazardly stacked, and it seemed like chaos had taken over. Second, the High Lord, who usually occupied the office, was nowhere to be found, and even the secretary had no idea of his whereabouts.

Reagan couldn't help but be curious. He turned to Middleton and asked, "Do you have any idea where Lumiére might be? Not even a hint?".

Middleton, who had been working outside the office, shook his head in response. "No sir... I was busy with some tasks outside, and I didn't even notice when he left." He explained.

Reagan was taken aback by this revelation. He r

~ Reagan's POV~Reagan found himself caught in a web of disbelief as he looked from Ervine to Lord Ramona, their solemn expressions and serious demeanor making it hard for him to take their words seriously. Lumiére had told him the name of the human he was seeing was Raven, so where had Phoenix who should be dead come out from. His initial reaction was to chuckle, unable to fathom the possibility of what they were suggesting. However, their unwavering seriousness quelled his laughter, and he took a deep breath to compose himself."Come on, give me something believable, or I'll walk away from all of this... Phoenix is dead. The clan, they killed her," Reagan muttered, his voice laced with a tinge of frustration and skepticism. He had witnessed her demise himself, and the thought of her miraculously returning from the dead seemed far-fetched, to say the least. If Phoenix were alive, she would have surely reached out to them long ago, rather than making an appearance at a charity ball.

Lumiére said, struggling to rise to his feet.Raven swiftly stood up and lent him a hand, supporting him as he tried to regain his balance. Together, they slowly made their way towards the bottom of the stairs. However, he gently pushed her away, not because he was angry—she could see it in his eyes."Please go… Find out who that person is... I'll manage," he assured her with a slight nod.She felt hesitant at first, not wanting to abandon him in his current condition. But he mustered a reassuring smile and urged her to go. Although she still couldn't grasp what was happening to him, she could sense his determination to push his way through whatever was happened to him."Just so you know, my room is the first one on the right," she informed him, as a sudden surge of emotion compelled her to give him a brief kiss on the lips. For some reason, she felt like this was the last time she was going to see him. Then she reluctantly re

~ Reagan's POV~Allicin? It had been ages since Reagan had even heard of that stuff. It was like a forgotten secret, something from a distant time, an abomination that shouldn't even exist. Finding Allicin nowadays was as rare as spotting a unicorn. Yet, somehow, it had made its way into Raven's home, and Lumiére was trapped inside.Raven, who was also Phoenix. She was also the very person who had led a mission to wipe out their kind. Reagan didn't even want to imagine how Lumiére had ended up in this situation, willingly entering a house where the scent of Allicin was present. Lumiére should have sensed the scent the moment he stepped foot inside the house and the fact that he didn't was sending the wrong message to Reagan.Reagan couldn't help but wonder how distracted and vulnerable Lumiére must have been to miss such a strong smell. He shook his head in disbelief. Inhaling Allicin wouldn't be deadly for a High Lord, but it would weaken Lumiére and disable his powers for a while.

Lumiére asked Noah, confusion evident in his voice."To save your ass," Reagan replied bluntly. He wasted no time and instructed Noah, "Help me carry him." Together, they carefully lifted Lumiére and carried him over to the car. Placing him in the backseat, Reagan climbed in after him and closed the door.Noah took the driver's seat and started the car, pulling out of the parking lot behind another black SUV. "You were grounded, Noah. I explicitly told you not to leave the Sanctuary," Lumiére voiced his disapproval from the back seat.Noah remained silent, his gaze meeting Reagan's through the rearview mirror. Understanding the situation, Reagan shook his head slightly."I allowed him to come," Reagan said, looking back at Lumiére." …and Arin? You couldn't call him or what?" ~ Lumiére's POV~Lumiére's heightened senses alerted him to a sound that seemed out of place. Even before fully comprehending what was happening, he instinctively knew that something was amiss. No one, except him and Noah were present in his penthouse. Noah's movements were not the source of the sound because Noah didn't move stealthily like the footsteps he was picking up. The guy moved loudly like a bull, so it wasn't him. They had entered the house together several hours ago, and no one had entered since then except Arin who still left after a whilr. Even in his weakened state, Lumiére could piece together those details. There were invaders in his home. With a deliberate effort, he slowly snapped his eyes opened and quietly climbed out of the bed, being cautious not to make any sudden movements.Despite having fed recently, Lumiére still felt the lingering effects of his weakened state. The anger he felt towards those responsible was palpable.Arin, with a solemn expression, sighed. "I think it's best if you stay home and have someone accompany you whenever you need to leave and also not be alone for the time being. It seems like your mere presence now attracts danger…Especially With the approaching full moon, things are becoming more dangerous," he warned.Lumiére rolled his eyes, a mix of frustration and understanding evident on his face. While he didn't particularly enjoy being confined or constantly monitored, he knew that Arin's advice was rooted in genuine concern for his safety. Besides, He was quite aware of the fact that Reagan was sitting down near him and was patiently awaiting the right moment to speak up.Acknowledging Arin's cautionary advice, Lumiére nodded in agreement. He had no intention of arguing a
