CHAPTER 26.1

THE DANGER

IT'S ALREADY DAWN and we're here at the East gate waiting for our carriage. I told Ayla that I'm still sleepy but Ayla feels the opposite. Did she even sleep? Shortly, Nereza and Clarrise called our names, informing us that the carriage have already arrived.

Ayla, Clarrise, and I are inside the carriage while Nereza is seated beside the Scout who will take us to Taewe.

"Who's the Scout?" I asked Clarrise.

"His name is Jacob. He is the second in command of the Scouts. Nereza said he's good in directions and he's also good at fighting. He will help us reach Taewe," Clarrise answered.

"Do you think he won't say a word to the Alpha?" Ayla asked.

"I don't think he will tell a soul. Nereza said she had it under control. Let's trust her."

Two days. It will take us two days to reach the mountain. I hope that no harm will fall upon us on our way. High Priestess of Preousia, please guide us on our way to Taewe. After my silent prayer, I fell asleep on Ayla's shoulder.
