ODESSA’S POV

My legs, which had been playing and splashing around in the water, suddenly stopped. Without bothering to look at who had come to disturb my peace of mind, I continued playing in the water.

“Ignoring me? That's a new one.” He chuckled and settled down beside me, kicking off his shoes as well. I wanted to turn to him and tell him that he didn't even know I existed in my previous world and now…

“Should a King be seen sitting on the floor and playing by the pool?” I asked, my gaze fixed on the moon.

“I'm a King. I can do whatever I want, even if it's to spend the entire engagement party with my son’s fiancee who looks unbothered by the fact that her future husband just went after his side piece.”

I frowned and looked at him, his eyebrows raised as if he was urging me to say what was on my mind.

“You're very talkative for a King.” I scowled and looked back to the sky.

He laughed and replied, “My late wife once told me beautiful women bring out that side of me.”
