03. How dare he?

last update Last Updated: 2023-06-27 07:44:24

"What are you waiting on? I SAID GET OUT AND GET OUT NOW!" Billionaire Alpha King Jairus Mathiasen growled menacingly and was in front of her instantly, leaving his mistress's side.

His sweet luscious lips that used to kiss her tears away or pepper kisses all over her body, having her skin erupt in a flurry of warm, comforting, and sensual tingles now curled into a scowl as he reared back his hand and struck her across the face, this time with the already prepared and signed divorce paper.

Causing her to stumble, hunching over sideways with the force of her husband's shove behind the slap. With her reflexes, she was able to right herself as she held the side of her face that stung in the aftermath of his heavy hand.

And yet mild sparks were warming it simultaneously, but she was thankful he did not use his full strength on her weakened body.

Yes, her husband, a man she had married, loved, and given five years of her life as a doting and supportive wife and Queen Luna. That same man was her mate for eight years and counting.

A mate who was destined to be with her, he was made specifically for her, and she for him. Blessed by the Divine Moon Goddess herself with the aim that her creation, whom she calls her children, would never be alone in this treacherous world.

They would always have each other if no one else.

Queen Luna Aakifahlynn stared at the man, her husband, but she did not know who this person was before her. She surmised for the fourth time during this nightmare she would not seem to wake up from.

Aakifahlynn was shocked at his outburst and his sudden bout of harsh treatment toward her.

She started to move. She needed to leave this place. Where was everyone? Where was her servant? But she was unable to move. As if frozen by sheer shock and trepidation at the realization of what the night brought.

How the night started, never in a million years did she think this was the ending.

A planned one too…SLAP again, the other cheek this time, "Aren't you listening to me, woman?"

"Sign the papers and leave," Jairus spoke through gritted teeth. His breathing was heavy, nose flaring, chest and shoulders moving up and down.

As if he was trying to restrain himself from lifting the woman up and throwing her out as he stared at her in disgust.

His features transformed to pure disgust, his lips curled in a nasty snare.

His and Taisiya's eyes showed pure hatred that she was weaker compared to Taisiya. They were both smug and pleased with themselves, sharing a triumphant aura.

As if their plans could not have gone any better.

Their eyes locked on each other again, and a hint of desire flashed in her husband's eyes as he stared at Taisiya. "Soon, my love," he whispered in her ear so tenderly as Taisiya hung in his arms embrace.

They stared deeply into each other's eyes and promptly resumed their hungry kisses, hands roaming each other's bodies feeling and caressing their way around each part.

However, it was over as quickly as it started when Alpha King Jairus's eyes switched to hatred as they slid toward her again.

"You don't deserve to be here, with me in this castle." Jairus pointed at the ground at 'here' and flared his hands out and up smugly, gesturing to the Castle they lived in.

'How dare he?' Her knees buckled and finally gave out under her. The betrayal was unfathomable. Her body slumped to the ground, and her husband was not even fazed.

'She does not belong here?'

Instead, he snared at her as if she was the most pathetic person he'd had the nightmare of dealing with.

She wanted to laugh and scream bloody murder at the same time.

'How dare he?'

This was coming from the man who could have never gotten where he was today without Aakifahlynn by his side, as she was the one that paved the way for him to get to the throne while simultaneously uniting all magical beings.

He ruled his Kingdom and protected it 'on paper' fiercely, but Aakifahlynn's magic and knowledge allowed him that power.

'Was this a nightmare?' She asked herself again

No, it was not. Because Aakifahlynn was feeling every ounce of demoralizing pain. She felt every bit of his slaps across her soft, tender skin, and even down on the cold polished concrete castle floor, she felt the results in her aching bones.

Aakifahlynn could not fathom her predicament. She was a werewolf blessed by the Divine Moon Goddess. Not all wolves have unique gifts, only a select few.

They are called the Ace wolves, gifted and highly favored by the Divine Moon Goddess.

Suddenly, she was jerked out of her stroll down memory lane when she felt strong fingers grip her long blonde hair, sharp pangs shut through her tender scalp and traveled down her spine.

Tears from her pitiful blue gaze flowed freely as they frantically searched, only to realize her husband had grabbed her by her hair and dragged her out the door and down the corridor.

Panic gripped her. 'Where was he taking her? To the dungeons?' Surely he would not be this mean to a weak woman. She could be practically considered human at this point.

Nonetheless, she was still the Queen. 'How could he treat her this way?'

Catching herself, "JAIRUS, what are you doing?" She screamed in terror as she fought against his hold and tried to push herself up on her feet, but they kept being pulled from under her as he aggressively moved forward, dragging her along with him.

Taisiya gave her readied catwalk down the dimly lit corridor behind them all the while.

But Aakifahlynn was facing her while dragged viciously by her husband. Her eyes dimmed when she saw the victory in Taisiya's eyes, making her want to gouge those bewitching green eyes straight out of her skull.

But Taisiya did not owe her anything. It's not like they were friends or sisters. She was her mate's first love. She had disappeared from their lives for years.

Then Aakifahlynn realized Jairus was her mate at the ripe old age of eighteen.

Taisiya only returned to their lives about three years ago. However, their paths only crossed a little. Her real fight was with her deceitful and trifling mate of a husband.

She was about to wail again at her husband but held her tongue. She would not further degrade herself in front of these people to give them the satisfaction of seeing her beg.

Aakifahlynn, sadly, still had difficulty accepting reality. She could not grasp this. No matter how much she tried to make sense of everything, she couldn't, and the more she tried, her head throbbed.

Even if she was not his mate or wife, how could he treat the one person who single handily took the throne for him this way?

It was she that safeguarded the Kingdom of Tamman's borders for years with her magic. She had expertly cursed all weapons to kill any that would, unfortunately, come into contact.

They would surely meet their demise, which made the King powerful in his people's eyes and in all the villages and towns far and wide across the beautiful continent of Anatola.

As far as across the ocean, to other vast islands, where one would need one of those wooden sea transport to get to, know his name because of Queen Luna Aakifahlynn Mathiasen.

He was so revered that whole packs and herds would travel to visit his Kingdom. He was the ruler of all magical beings, and as for his enemies, none that tried had come close to touching him within their ruling.

His Kingdom had quickly grown, and it was like he had risen to fame for his skill in battle and training the best warriors.

Bottomline, his Kingdom was to be feared, and no one dared to go against him.

They had run this Kingdom together smoothly for five years, and the people were treated fairly. Things had blossomed tremendously for the Kingdom of Tamman in five years because of Aakifahlynn, and now she was tossed out like a decaying rodent.

She desperately grasped at the hand in her hair, attempting to prise his fingers off, but his grip would only tighten.

Reaching out the massive front doors of the Castle, Alpha King Jairus Mathiasen swung his hand and tossed her as if she was a bowling ball hitting some bowling pins at a bowling alley.

The council comprised two Elders, two Dukes, two Marquesses, two Earls, two Viscounts, two Barons, and two Lords. Each ranked level had two species representing, never of the same kind, except for the Elders. So, on each level, it was either a Daimph, a Vampyre, or a Werewolf. The Ayacques were never a part of the council because they had not surrendered to the throne. They were from the south. The betrayers were the two Elders. Both elders were Werewolves, for apparent reasons keeping only the history of the werewolf relevant and alive. One Duke, another Werewolf, a Marquess, and a Lord are Vampyres. Aakifahlynn scoffed as she recalled Duke Mark Chapman's words. He dared to act concerned for her well-being when he was front and center... Well, more like front and off to the side, but still, he supported her husband during her death. Aakifahlynn felt a wave of anger rising in the pit of her stomach, causing her to see red at her demise. And a deep-seething hatred for those that

This has been going on since Taisiya returned a few months ago in this Timeline. And in her past Timeline, they would have been together for three years and counting. Aakifahlynn swore her heart skipped a bit, and at this moment, she was thankful she had decided to use her magic to calm her nerves and steady her emotions. She would have definitely gotten caught if she had not taken this precaution. Aakifahlynn also acknowledged she needed to rely on her wolf and magic to survive in this castle. Just to be able to be around them and not give herself away, she needed the reinforcement; she would not dare fool herself into thinking she could do this without help. She'd seen and heard enough. Her heart ached at the sight. Aakifahlynn called on her magic, removed herself from her husband's study, and landed by the treeline before the forest outside the castle gates. However, the lands of this Kingdom extend for miles on end. The sun was gone entirely, and now the beautiful half-full moon would rule the sky for the next ten hours or so. Aakifahlynn turned and watched the tall, mighty walls of the castle. She glanced around for any movements. The villagers were out and about having a merry time doing one thing or the other. Warriors were on their usual patrols, ensuring the grounds and walls were safe, while some were sparring and training. All oblivious to her torment and struggles. At night the castle grounds were not typically busy, but at this moment,

Perhaps this dinner was a stroke of luck. Aakifahlynn's primary goal was to avoid Demarion and direct all her focus toward the families present. This annual ball and fundraiser can be the start of her getting close to the Emperor. And if she was being honest, Demarion did mention this to her weeks ago, but it may have gone in one ear and come out the other. She was too busy with her 'kill list,' the people she sought revenge on for past wrongs.Since then, she'd already decided she would not attend, and she knew him getting her parents involved would be a way to get her there. So you know what? She would dress to kill, wine, dine with the elites, and maybe find herself a wealthy man. She rolled her eyes inwardly at her last thought as if."Fine, I'll think about it," Aakifahlynn said, not wanting to suddenly give in."Come on, Aakifahlynn, pleaseeee do it for me." Then, she moved up to his eyes again and licked her lips. Her face suddenly moved closer to him.At Aakifahlynn's apparent intentions, Demarion wasted not another second; he had been waiting an entire lifetime for this again; he instantly closed the distance between them, his head swooping lower to meet her as she tiptoes wrapping her arms around his neck and kissed him.It quickly became hungry and heated, his hands moving down her back, caressing her waist, pulling her flush to him as he sat on the table, she between his legs. She grabbed the hair at the nape of his neck and slid her hand up, massaging his head. Her fingers ran through his hair as they melted in this passionate kiss, and they both moaned in pure pleasure. However, Aakifahlynn had been fighting this for the last few

Yes, she was cloaked. She had thoroughly cloaked herself so Demarion could not keep such a tight hold on her.And even though Aakifahlynn saw the errors of her ways because her father could not feel her through their bond, she would blame Demarion. It was his fault. "How could you?" Aakifahlynn shouted, her voice shaky with rage, not giving him a chance to respond. His gaze bore into her, so Aakifahlynn felt as if she could not breathe under his intense gaze. She continued anyway, refusing to let his allures get to her, "What gave you the right to raise such an alarm?""Why would you provoke such a raucous that would cause my mother and father such pain? They thought I was in serious danger and that something was seriously wrong when I only wanted to get away from you and your lies." she snapped. Her words, a cascade of pent-up emotions, not letting him get a word in.Now, she was breathing heavily, her chest rising and falling. Demarion had come by earlier, but now it was dark out, and Aakifahlynn was still nowhere to be found. This was a bit unusual. And the fact that Demarion was worried, Aakifahlynn's mother was now.By Mrs. Arwen's response and stricken look, Demarion got his answer without even asking. They still had not seen her since. "Guards," Demarion shouted. There were guards at almost every post. How could Aakifahlynn slip past them, and neither of them saw her? "Yes sir," the nearest guard came almost at a run, "sound the alarm. Our Empress is missing." Demarion orders. Those words about 'his empress' flew over Mrs. Arwen's head as she was now stricken with fear, being consoled by her husband, Aakifahlynn's father, Mr. Ludwig Arwen. She had left the door wide open, and Danica walked in to get them up to speed. She mentioned her brief conversation with their daughter earlier today in an attempt to reassure them that she was certain Aakifahlynn was just fine. Demarion barked a few more orders

Demarion sighed. He did not mean to come off so aggressive, he thought for a moment. There were many reasons why he was holding off on bombarding Aakifahlynn with all the information he had about their past lives. "Because she never believes me at first, always... and always tries to escape me. Which always led to her death before I could." Demarion's voice cracked, and when he regained it, it trembled. He fisted. He was tough and mighty, powerful and feared by many; however, this one woman could bring him to his knees without even trying."Before I could even hold her in my arms and show her how much I loved her before she could ever love me, I simply cannot risk her life like that this time; I won't." He declared.Danica's heart ached for her brother. " What if you are wrong, and she does believe you this time?""Why would she? It was like an alarm went off in Aakifahlynn's head—the thought of her parents struck her. She needed to know if they were safe, her concern overriding everything else."Oh my goddess, my parents," she shouted over the blaring again.
