“But I don’t think he would do that. Doing that would make you a target. If he missed, you might die in the hands of Liam.”

Luna laughed self-deprecatingly, “Even if I die in the hands of Liam, he won’t care.”

Theo was once again silent for a moment.

“I think Joshua cares for you more than you think.”

At least, when he saw Joshua and Alice bickering over who to stay back to take care of Luna, Theo saw sincere concern in Joshua’s eyes.

“That’s because you don’t understand him.”

Luna turned to look out of the window. Her voice sounded far away, “He never once cared if I lived or died.”

Before breakfast, Theo got the doctor to do a routine check-up on Luna.
