Unwanted Visitor - Part 1

Olivia's POV

I opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was a white ceiling and a beeping sound to my left drawing my attention to the monitor beside me. My gaze shifted towards my right and I saw Chantel sitting in a chair dozing off. I tried to recall the last thing from my memory.

I had finished breakfast and I was browsing through my phone. I started feeling drowsy and weak. I fell to the ground and darkness covered me.

What happened? I thought as my hand moved to my belly.

"Ma'am, you are awake," came Chantel's voice drawing my attention to her.

I said nothing but watched her reach for the bed bell and she pressed it. I could see her smiling but I carried a cold expression.

A doctor walked in a few minutes and attended to me.

"How do you feel?" the doctor asked me after his physical examination.

"Okay," I replied. "Is my baby okay?" I asked.

"Yes, the baby is fine. You just had an allergic reaction to..." he began but another doctor entered.
