Vesta silently sipped the wine while thinking about what her friend had declared. It melted her of how sharply Jillian’s gaze gave to her.
“Don’t make a stupid decision, Vesta. Let Tita Elena just be on that thing.” Jillian was not pleased about it. Vesta presumed Jillian could help her, but as her aunt, Jillian was from the same perspective.
Vesta placed the half-content wine glass on the glass table. Vesta scowled, it’s not the thing that Jillian averse but the reason that they don’t want her to go there.
“Will you please tell me the reason I shouldn’t go there? Because it feels like you want to tell me something that you can’t say to me, Jillian. What is that then?”
Vesta saw the suddenness in Jillian’s look that disappeared a mere second. Jillian regressed her sitting position and her eyes weren’t looking at Vesta.
“I’m just worried about you. You may end up like your twin. Do you want Aunt Elena to hurt again? You are breaking her heart now for what you are doing. She is protecting you will not lead the fate like your twin,” Jillian reasoned out.
Vesta lost her gusto now. No one will dictate to her. No matter what, she will find her brother. Vesta perceived he was alive and was waiting for her.
“I thought you would support me in my decision? Why change? Tell me, Jillian, what’s the reason. It seems like you and my aunt learn something about what happened to Xyller. Why won’t you tell me?” Vesta said in a rambling tone.
Jillian pressed her lips. “I’m just worried for you, Vesta. I’m trying my best to help you by giving some information ab–”
“I’m not satisfied with it; you hired someone to find him. But it’s the same as the one Aunt Elena hired. Where is his body, then? Clothes with blood are not enough for me. I want him not just the things he had, Jillian,” Vesta shook. She breathed deep. Her chest was so crowded that if she would talk, she would cry in front of Jillian. Her friend should support her, but her feelings hurt by what she did.
“I’m so sorry about it. I’m also affected. You didn’t know how I’m hurting, Vesta. I’m his girlfriend. I want to find him as you wanted, but we know he’s gone. It’s difficult to move on, but we need to even it’s so hard.” Jillian’s eyes reddened while telling those words.
Vesta has enough with this. She stood up in her chair, turned her back, and hurried. Moving on? She can’t until she sees his body then she’ll accept they’re right, he was dead.
“Vesta!”
Vesta ignored her voice and stepped out of her apartment door. She only wanted the truth. But why does it feel like they were lying to her?

Vesta got off the bus; it’s a long ride. At last, she reached the place. La Moran, it’s by Mindanao. (just a fictional place).
Vesta cut the long hair she had and changed its style in color into wavy reddish-brown. She wore a black fake eyeglass. She wore a simple blue shirt and black, tattered jeans. The black snicker she was using made her more comfortable than the usual long heels sandals she wore. She walked to the waiting area in the terminal, pulling her wheeled matte black baggage.
Some locals stared at her and sensing the curiosity in their eyes. Vesta did not mind it as she breathed easily picking her phone in her sling bag. A message she sent to her cousin Ashley telling her she was here waiting. The peri-urban air genlty passed, giving a sudden refreshment on her.
People on boarding and unboarding for rides, the noise of chattered and vehicles envelope the terminal area. Vesta saw more trees here than in Manila and there’s no building that reached over five floors in the view.
Her eyesight glanced in the passing vehicle, a red Maserati. It looked like there were a lot of rich people here. She bothered herself by chatting with her group in the chat. When her groupmate realized she was going on vacation for six months, a sadness befall them. She hoped six months was enoughed to find him or lest even the truth...

Vesta stopped typing when she saw a car stopped one meter away from her. The driver’s window opened, and the smiling face of Ashley appeared. Was she waiting?
“Do you have a plan to ride with me?” Ashley jokes in an impatient tone. Vesta knew Ashley just came.
She stood up to the waiting bench area and walked to Ashley with her baggage. Ashley went out of the car and gave Vesta a tight hugged.
“How are you? You’ve grown into a beautiful lady.” Ashley hugged, tackled Vesta as if Ashley missed her so very much.
“Don’t tease me, pretty cousin. I’m fine, you see? How about you?” Vesta smiled and broke into the hug to each other.
“I’m fine, as usual. I’m still gorgeous,” Ashley said with a wink that causes Vesta to laugh.
“Let’s go, Vesta. Mother can’t wait to see you,” Ashley said, in an exciting mood while walking to the car.
Ashley helped her bring the suitcases to the back seat of her cousin’s Toyota Vios. The car’s colored pink having one blue striped line design. Before Vesta got in the front seat. She noticed that there were no changes in Ashley’s personality; she was still funny and optimistic.
“How’s the trip?” Ashley inquired before she turned on the engine.
“It is good,” Vesta replied.
Ashley’s hair color was black and inherited its nose to her father, a Brazilian, with an upturned nose and grey eyes. Ashley inherited the lips and skin from her mother Stella, who was Vesta’s godmother, a milky white skin.
“Good. Good. If I went here, the trip would be so total hell for me. Imagine 10 hours going in here?” Ashley referred with a shook in her head.
“I know you how you hated a long trip, sounds reasonable. Anyway, how’s your mom?” Vesta questioned, glancing at her.
“She’s fine with health, but being her mother, I felt like I’m still a baby on her side. However, I love her so much. Aren't all?” Ashley grinning.
Vesta smiled at what Ashley said yet the sadness embraced her within. She once have a mother and she was missing her so badly, if only...
-------
Vesta just looked outside the window while watching their passes, feeling the smooth drive of the car in the cemented pavement. The area has changed. She has seen a lot of establishments standing and having more two-story buildings established.
“Vesta? Is that true you told me when you called?” Ashley said, breaking the silence, eye's set on the road.
“Yes. I am planing to enrol myself at Farex University. I need to do something there,” Vesta mumbled without even looking at Ashley's direction.
Xyller studied the Botanist program at Farex University. Vesta remembered how her brother loved plants when they were a lad. That’s the reason Xyller has chosen the course. Xyller was in the second year when the news came to Vesta. It was unexpected and unforgettable.
“I’m so excited! We’re going to be classmates. I study there, so will you follow the same course I have? It’s kinda nice, education.” Ashley showed excitement at knowing that Vesta will school at Farex University.
Ashley’s expression changed when something brought in her mind. “I’m so sorry about what happened to Xyller.” Vesta heard the pain in Ashley’s voice. It's pain adding more to Vesta's grieving soul.
Xyrell did not live with their godmother Estella and settled down in the dormitory while he studied at the university. That’s what he wanted to be on his own-being independent, even when she insisted about the idea to him, but he did not listen. Vesta knew her brother enough. If Xyrelle decided, you could not unbend it no matter how anyone tried to bend it.
What was his decision, it's final. Vesta never called her brother a twin, she preferred to call him by his name. She does not want to be the center of having a twin as much as possible she kept her private life secret from the public.
“You did not do wrong, Ash. It was an unexpected happening,” Vesta falsified a smile while asserting those words to make Ashley better.
“Sorry for that, Vesta,” Ashley said. Vesta saw the pain in Ashley’s eyes. Suddenly Vesta felt her heart squeezed by phrases that Ashley let go of.
Vesta kept quietly turning her head in the window’s direction. Watching the houses, they passed. While staring she could not stop, not to weep. Vesta knew deep down in her heart that Xyller was alive. She hoped, and she was not losing hope, that she would find him.
“Xyrell, where are you?” Vesta whispered to herself.
When Vesta and Ashley reached the house. It amazed Vesta how there were no changes in the house of Godmother Estella. The euphoria of the past snatched her out of the present. The paint was the same when the last she saw it, even though the gate was still the same. Like nothing changed for eight years. There were many flowering plants in front of the two-story house. How Vesta misses this place so much. They always went here and played with Ashley and a few of their friends when they were kids. Ashley opened the gate before they entered the house until they reached the garage. Vesta came out to the front seat, and she saw Godmother Stella approaching them. A big smile set Estella’s beautiful face. She missed her so much after eight years. Vesta moved was quicker to hug Estella, giving her a tightened warmed embrace that she also gave back to her. She saw that her godmother Estella didn’t change that
Vesta tossed the tissue in the trash can before she opened the door of the comfort room. She looked in disbelief when Ashley left her. Ashley told her she will stay outside because Sean called. And now Ashley was not here. Vesta walked fast while looking at her surrounding until she walked to the stairs leading to the second floor. Then she saw Ashley in the middle of the hallway. Vesta approached Ashley, who was calling for someone. "Ash, why you left me in the comfort room?" she asked Ashley immediately. Vesta wanted to know the truth about why Ashley left her. “Sad, he left,” Vesta heard what Ashley declared. The who? “Who left?” Vesta was wondering what Ashley said. “The new handsome guy. I didn’t get his name and phone number. Gosh, Vesta, if you only see him, you going to fall in love with him.
“Nothing? What’s nothing?” The first thing Yuki mumbled after Draze let him knew Daro evaded his prison. Yuki faces confusion because for him it was very absurd to escape it. “Daro is no longer in his cell. One of your guard men confirmed it to me and I verified what he said was true.” Yuki stood up in his chair in horror. “What? How did he escape?" The fell face expressed in Yuki’s representation. Draze also responded with an identical reaction when he first heard it. “I think someone had helped him to escape. Someone in your man who is a traitor, one of whom you trusted,” Draze muttered seriously. Yuki clasped at the edge of the table. He was angry, and Draze saw it in his uncle’s face. “Tell the three Elemental vampires that Daro escaped from prison. You passed this fastly, it will caus
Vesta was watching the night sky, looking for the stars, butshe saw nothing. She was on the terrace, leaning against the white marblebannister, looking up. She had been waiting for her cousin. It’s been two hours since she left to buy some books in town. Untilnow, she was not at home. The black sweater she’s wearing fits the curves of her body, paired with herfavouriteblue jogger pants with an imprinted word on the side, thecolours. She turned her gaze to the garden below her. Through moonlight she could see the differentcoloursof roses planted by her godmother andsomeflowering plants. The cool breeze was playing with her short hair. Her eyes moved at something moving in one tree of the mini forest, twenty meters away from where she was. Forming a furrow on her forehead, trying to figure out if someone is lurking behind. A sigh came out of her mouth, the coolness of the air she breathed
Vesta slowly opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the white ceiling of the hospital, smelling the antiseptic and bleach combined in the puff of the aircon. She winced when she felt the pain in her head, using her trembling hand she touched her head, feeling the clothes of the bandage wrap around. The flashback of what happened came to here unexpectedly, the man appeared in the road, the screeching of the tires as she steps on the brake, causing her to lose control of her maneuver as she tried not to hit the person, and she crashed on the nearby tree. That's what she had remembered, she could not remember who helped her. Fear crep
Vesta got up with dizziness, she sat on the bed, roaming her eyes to her surroundings. She was in the University's infirmary. She got up from the bed, there's no one in the room. Then Vesta noticed the cap on her head was gone, the white bandage could be seen, and her face felt so cold.Vesta knew any minute her cousin would be here, but before it happened she needed to get out of here, afraid of her cousin's reaction if she knew. She tried to remember what happened but the only thing she could was the tremendous pain in her head as well as the images of two kids and a young woman, that she could not understand. Irritation rose on her, why was it happening to her?The infirmary looks like a hospital where she had been, the white paint in the walls, and the white curtain that separated the three-bed in her back, and another three in front of her. The first thing she looked at was the journal, fear crept in her when she could not find it on the table beside the bed.
The moon was shining brightly in the night sky above him while driving the car out of the city. He has long wanted to tell her what happened to his brother, buthe was always restrained by himself because he was afraid that if he said it so much trouble will happen. But the guilt was killing him every day, he was thinking did they feel the guilt of what they did? Vesta immediately got off the tricycle. She stepped heavily as she walked to the open gate of the house of Sean's parents. Ashley hugged her tightly as soon as she saw Vesta enter. "I'm so sorry Vesta, if I didn't tell you right away. I want to make sure it was him," Ashley said in a hoarse voice. Vesta stroked her back before she slowly pushed Ashley. She saw the redness of her cousin's eyes full of grief looking at Vesta. It reminded her of herself when Ashley called her about Xyrell. Now, it hurts so much. "I understand, don't worry, Ash," Vesta said and gently squeezed her cousin's right arm just to make Ashley feel fine. They went inside the house when the rain fell on them. Vesta noticed some people inside knew the family of Clyde. She was searching her eyes for her Ninang Estella. Ashley seems to have noticed that Vesta was looking at her mother. "Mom was not her
The car pulled in front of the house of Vesta's godmother, she unclasped the seat belt and rolled her head to the left to look at the man who turned off the engine. "Thank you." And she opened the car door. "Keep my words," he said solemnly as he watched her walk away. Vesta's hand is on the side of the door, and she stares at Zaiden, waiting for her to say something. She crossed her hands at the back and smiled. "I keep it," she answered, and was frowned at by a shake in his head. "I'll be watching you if you don't, Vesta," he warned. Vesta's brows furrowed and deepened, staring at the man in disbelief, yet she didn't show it to him. She closed the car door and turned her back to the gate of the house. She didn't turn around. Her ear was listening for him to leave, and she was on the porch when she turned her head. The car was still there, and the window in the front seat was opened. Their eyes met, and Zaiden peered at her seriously. He meant what he said! She raised her hand
Vesta's body stiffened, feeling the pain when the man behind her created a small wound sliced in her neck. She could not help as her hot tears fell. "Please, I ..." She lost her voice of the fear that engulfed her whole system. Why is she in this situation? If she didn't come here, it wouldn't have happened. Didn’t she know why disaster seemed to follow her, or was she born in mischief? Dizziness swirled in her, legs and knees weakened, any minute, she would lose her consciousness, as her chest in pain. Memories flood her of the accident flashed in her mind. Tasting death again. Will Zaiden save her? Who is this man threatening not to kill him? What is going on? "I warn you, if you do, this lady with you will die," said the man with a harsh tone, even gripping hard her jaw. She winced in pain. And she didn't know what happened nex
"How is that possible?" Ashley questioned Vesta as they went down the stairs to the first floor. Vesta confided in her cousin about her brother's friend and his apparent girlfriend. Ashley hoisted an eyebrow as she peered at her. Vesta stopped at the side of the stairs. “In this picture,” she said and showed it to Ashley. She was supposed to tell Ashley yesterday about this, but she forgot because of the article review she needed to finish last night given by their professor on their indigenous craft and arts subject. Ashley snatched the picture from her. She looked at it closely. "I don't know them, are you sure those two are from here?" Ashley said forthwith.
One week ago, Esteria, Adhorra Kingdom Anarya read the letter from Yuki. It was said that the council and the four Elemental vampires will hold a meeting to discuss the issues happening in their jurisdiction. "Your highness! Draze wants to talk to you," said the guard keeper outside the door of his office. "Let him in," she commanded the guard. She placed the paper in the drawer of her desk. The chandelier light illuminates her capacious office where she performs her duties. As a queen of the kingdom was not an easy task, even when she wanted to leave her position, but it was not possible. Her two children are not yet ready to take her place, if only her husband had not died she would not have assumed all the responsibility he left her. Anarya arranged her messy table, there were piles of papers placed on the side part, and a few files sh
The sun was shining beautifully, Vesta looked at the sky, she thought it would rain today, so she was ready to bring an umbrella. She looked at the key he was holding several times, afraid it might get lost in her hand or forgotten that it was there. She planned to get into the dormitory room of Xyller. Behind Farex University stands the Farex Dormitory, with those two buildings facing each other. On her right side is the women's Dormitory and on her left side the boy's Dormitory. It was time during class she planned to enter for there were no students in the dormitory. She was wearing a black cap and ordinary clothing. The guard who had been guarding earlier left for a while because there was a call he got in. She did not tell her cousin what she was doing today, and excuse herself that she was feeling so bad and won't attend school. Her godmother, on the other hand, accompanied Sean's mothe
